Sitting at my desk at work, listening quietly to My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult singing "After the Flesh". Trying to look professional while doing so. Not succeeding.

New Film game -- guess the film from the line
by stillajwexelder in.
here is how it works -- i will start -- i am going to give a line from a film -- the person who replies has to guess the film and then they have to give a new line from any film they choose - and the next person has to guess that film and then they post a line i will start.

Aslief- that's from Dogma, one of the rockinest movies ever.
Here's one for all the hipsters: "It says here I can get breakfast at any time? OK, I'll have eggs over easy, in the age of enlightenment."

I just caught part of an interview with Tarantino. He says he's going to maybe make an erotic movie next. Somehow, I just know it'll still be really violent and twisted.

Well, I can understand that your son should not go to his grandfather's home until he's addressed the situation, apologized, etc. But maybe this is a time when he should definitely be with his mom; maybe you can talk some sense into the boy. Ultimately, this is something that us childless folks can have all sorts of opinions on, but only a parent can really decide which action is most beneficial (for your son, and for everyone else). Best of luck; I hope your son will take this as a wake up call, and make the changes he needs to make. Hang in there, CG.

Farkel V Minimus - Lets talk
by Sirona injust recently the forum has seen some posts relating to these two prominent members of the forum.
we have the thread about farkel being a genius, and the thread where farkel and minimus have a bit of a "shebang" (that's nw england talk - excuse me).. the thing is, i honestly think that both of these people are becoming a little bit too enthralled with their own importance.. farkel's "concerned about minimus" thread was a deliberate jibe at minimus, and minimus clearly is p**sed off with farkel's comments.. overall i think that farkel has outstanding talent and intelligence, however he is harsh and obviously has some personal problems (as do i, and many of us).
minimus is a great contributor to the forum, but he appears shallow and sycophantic.. lets get the whole issue out of the way.

Y'all, we might not always agree, but it's too valuable (to me, anyway) to have a site where we can speak our minds without fear of getting disfellowshipped, to mess it all up with divisiveness. It's great that we all have such different personalities. It keeps conversations lively-sometimes a bit too lively, but I'd take that over the borg any day. Let's all just try to get along, please? Pretty please with chocolate on top?
((((Farkel))))) and ((((Minimus)))). And that's all I've got to say on the subject!

I'm a flamin' heterosexual. I just think men are the greatest gift the Goddess ever gave us, and I wish my arms were long enough to hug all of them at once. However, a pretty big proportion of my friends are gay. I didn't set out to be the token straight chick in the room, it just happened that way.
Like everybody else on the planet, there are some very spiritual gay folks, some atheists, some who are working to have a relationship with the Supreme One but don't quite know how. It seems to be more a factor of who they are inside, than their sexuality. Anyhow, as long as you're not hurting anyone else, do what you like; love is not a sin. Welcome to the board, Butterfly!

Thanks, Celtic, for reminding us. Life is a wondrous thing, and we've all got plenty to be grateful for.
I just planted some flowers in containers on my steps-allysum in white, pink, and violet. The sun is shining, a warm breeze is blowing, my cat's ear infection is all cleared up. Sometimes it's the "little" things that give us the greatest satisfaction.
Rich blessings upon you, Celtic, and to everyone else as well!

Our Granddaughter and Her Wife Made History Today
by Swan inour granddaughter and her wife made history today by being among the first 3022 official gay marriages to take place in the good ol' us of a. there are no more marriages currently being issued in oregon, but the ones that have taken placed are legitimate, binding, and recognized by the state of oregon.
in the interim the legislature has to come up with a law to make more of these marriages official.
i sure am proud to live in such a progressive state.

No easy answers. I won't ever have children, for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons, however, is that I honestly don't know how to be a parent. I'm afraid that one day I'd hit my child and not be able to stop. I've never been violent, but I don't want to take the risk. I love kids too much to take the risk of hurting one of them.

Honey-bunny and I took my mom to see it on Saturday. We all loved it. Volume 1 was basically a grind-house movie, tons of violence and fake blood. Volume 2 was cool because it was more about what motivated all the violence-much more clever dialogue. I'm waiting for them to release the dvd boxed set-what a way to waste a day off!
