DAUGHTER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE TODAY, MOTHER ACCUSES ME OF . . .
by Corvin intoday i drove my daughter nancy to shool after the incident last night to ensure that she was ok. she never showed up to her first class, but took a bunch of pills she pilfered from her mother's bathroom a couple of weeks ago.
she was discovered, and i was called.
i took her to the hospital right away.

Movie Recommendations

My favorite movie in the past year was The Cooler, with William H. Macy. It's a great love story, but it does have explicit sex and violence, so it's not for the kids.
Also, with the same caveat, Gangs of New York. Wonderful cinematography, acting, set design, the whole package.

I CONFRONTED THE ENTIRE CONGREGATION TODAY
by Corvin intoday, i was on the scene of the local congregation of jw's where my ex-wife and her husband attend.
physical, emotional and mental abuse has been purpetrated upon my kids for eight years now.
they have been victims of alcoholism, verbal bashings and they have been made to watch their stepfather beat the hell out of their mother and then be halled off to jail without saying a word to anyone for fear fo reprisal from him and their mother.

Corvin, I have a lump in my throat right now. You are such a wonderful father to stand up for your children this way. Your Betsey and the other gals who stood with you at the k-hall are damn terrific, as well. I'd wish you luck in your efforts to protect your kids, but you won't need luck, as I'm sure God is in your corner and will continue to help you.

I Googled "Jehovah's Witnesses" and about a bazillion sites came up. Of course, most of them were anti-jw. What I disliked about many of them was how bitter and angry many of the posters were, also that many of them had gone on to start some new religion which was disturbingly similar to the WTS. I stuck around here because the posts I was reading seemed to be written by happy, well-adjusted people like I hoped to be.

((((Country Girl)))), I'm so sorry. Saying goodbye to our animal friends can be so hard. Your kitty sounds like a great guy, and I'm sure he was aware of how well loved he was by you and your family.
edited to add: Don't you dare feel like a murderer. You did the best and most loving thing possible for him, giving him a painless end when he was sick.

Is It True That Since Leaving The JWs That You're Totally Angry & Unhappy?

I'm so much happier since leaving! I used to have this constant, low-grade flu thing, I never felt good, ever. Maybe it's coincidence, but my immune system is a heck of a lot better now, I almost never get sick. I have even developed a much closer relationship with God since leaving, and that's made me happy, too. Wish I'd left years ago; it's been nothing but blessings since I did.

Dinosaurs never really existed, because Jehovah never allows his animals to become extinct. When I asked the elder to explain the numerous dinosaur bones found all over the earth, he told me that Satan made them and put them there in order to stumble us. Therefore, if you're digging in the ground and find a dino fossill, drop it quick and go pray, 'cuz its DEMONIZED!!!!!

Crying at the movies

Actually, I agree with you about Blade Runner. Roy was only as evil as his creators made him to be, and he only wanted to live his life as we all do. I always thought of him as more desperate than villainous, and yeah, it was sad as hell when he died.

I faded away. Sometimes I wish that I'd been more overt about it, made some sort of statement to people, but I just didn't want to deal with the fallout from that, so it was a semi-slow fade.
