I was in Orlando 3 years ago, and they had a bar that served about a hundred different martinis. They gave you a little menu when you sat down, with all of them listed. We had our usual (beer for him, coffee for me) but I've always regretted not trying a couple of the fancy drinks. Thanks for the recipies, all; I may mix one up tonight!

It kinda makes me think. About 1 1/2 yrs ago, the Brunswick, Maine (USA) k-hall was torched. It happened late night/early morning, so no one was hurt. Funny thing was, it had been up for sale, with no takers, for some time. They wanted to build something newer and bigger. Apparently, the insurance settlement was plenty to buy the new lot. Seems a little hinky to me.

Yeah, I thought Morgan Freeman was perfect as God. He played it with dignity and humor. I was really hoping this movie would not be disrespectful in the name of comedy, but it wasn't at all. Fun movie to watch when you can't sleep.

Lordy, San Francisco Jim, what a story! Hard to believe that a few people of the same sex falling in love, lust, or whatever, should warrant a witchhunt. I just hope that someday this will all cease to be an issue, and nobody will end up comitting suicide or being persecuted over their orientation. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. I have a lot of gay friends, and I hate to think of them in situations like these.

I'm gonna laugh so hard if they come knocking at my boyfriend's door tomorrow while he, SiouxWoman, and I are opening our presents. They're all scared of him 'cause he's big and stern looking. We'll be nice, though, and invite them in for roast beast and caroling.
Seriously, though, who the heck would intrude on people's Christmas morning? How rude and arrogant.

The memorial last spring (2003) was my last meeting ever. I'd been missing a few meetings, and everybody was so cold to me that night. I felt really unwelcome. So I left as soon as it was over and went to my honey's house to watch tv and kiss. Next spring, I'll stay home and spend time with my loved ones; much better use of my time, anyway.

It's Christmas!
by ozziepost inone of the many advantages of living downunder is that we get the good things first!
so here we are already into christmas day.
mrs ozzie and i were at a candle-lit church service with midnight communion - something the dubs could never do but they don't know what they're missing!

The coldness of Watchtowerism thread
by Brummie inwhen my dad died on november 9th none of my jw family turned to comfort my mother, no phone calls no cards no words of comfort.
its over a month now and still they havent made any contact.
it doesnt really matter since they are all jws on my moms side but dads side of the family are catholic so they were all there to give the strength needed to cope.

((((Brummie)))) God, they treated you abominably. I'm so sorry for all you've had to deal with. It's true, you're not alone, that damned cult promised so much love and delivered none, and hearing stories like this reminds me of why I left, and why I'll try to help as many others to find the way out, as well. Those hypocrites don't deserve to call themselves a faith or a religion, and every time they act this way they show their evil. Please don't let their actions hurt you.
