Bill Clinton is a sane, rational human being, who was voted into office fair and square. Can Dubya say the same? For the eight years Bill was in charge, we enjoyed a degree of peace, and the economy was strong. Then when George Jr. took control, everything went to hell in a handbasket. He threw us into a war with Afghanistan, then left the job unfinished when his approval rating dipped too low. Then we went to war with Iraq- because of the WMD's, which never materialized.

I miss Bill Clinton, and I would vote him back in a heartbeat if I could.

the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!

they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".

They found out we celebrated Christmas

i was told today that an elder in a nearby congregation has just told another elder in his congregation that he saw we celebrated christmas last year.

seems he was doing a job on our street (he's a window washer, like all good jw elders) and saw our decorations.. several things bother me about that.. 1. no one could have seen any of our decorations by driving by.

we had no lights outside.

Mulan, maybe he didn't see it at all, but he suspects, so he's lying about it in the hopes you'll "confess"? They do that in cop movies a lot, and it seems to work for them, so maybe that's where he got the idea. Anyway, if he was any kind of a real man, he'd talk to you face-to-face about it. Good luck to you, though; hopefully they will not pursue the issue, esp. if they've let it go for several months.

What first gave you doubts ?

we all know the big problems with the wts, but what was the first thing that made you realise there were problems with the organisation ?

with me it was realitivly small stuff like an 8 year old getting baptised and a comment my best mates made about another of our friends asking if we should be hanging round with her as she might be bad assciation (she had just been reproved, but they had been mates 20 years).. .

how ever the first time i ever thought something was really wrong was when i was about 11 and my grand farther died, and mu mum wouldn't go to the funeral, i remeber thinking that surely it was better to say good bye properly than worry about if the service was in a church.. .

When I shuffled into the meeting with a busted nose (because the freak my mother was married to felt powerful only after beating up an 11-year old girl) and the elder told me to be more obedient so Bob would not feel the need to "discipline" me so much.

In Hertford, North Carolina, my family lived in a house for a bit less than a year. This house was inhabited by something malevolent, but I can't say for sure what it was. I'd hear footsteps inside when I was there alone, and a few times they would approach very close to me. Things got moved around, lights would turn on and off. I mostly remember the palpable feeling of terror I always felt when I got close to the house, a feeling the other members of my family shared, I later discovered. Come to think of it, that's where my insomnia first took hold! Creepy, scary place; I was thrilled when we moved to Texas because I never had to feel that house breathing down the back of my neck again.

Disturbing phone call yesterday....

i would have posted this yesterday but for some reason it was unavailable.. i called one of my jw sisters, my turn to call.. a couple of months ago we all got together...hadn't seen any of them in 5 years.. well...she met my hubby and she said what he said was bothering her...i said: oh, i wasn't in the conversation what was it that bothered her....(my first mistake) seems like he brought up the un letter and something about what the real good news is.. she then started her hitler/nazi questions saying she is concerned about my spirituality....... i told her i have a relationship with jehovah and that is what matters...didn't stop her...i also told her i am a big girl and have taken care of my spirituality since i married the first time and left home.. i got off the subject by calling after my dog...and i was shaking the whole afternoon.. ya all know i am fading....geez...i wasn't prepared for this conversation...i am debating on telling her if she wants to continue a relationship with me then she needs to respect my spirituality and not question it...according to romans 14 where it says: each one has an accounting before god.

while i was married to husband #1 she never wanted to hear anything negative...so i had no support during that time and during my divorce as well.. she mentions she is concerned about my spirituality cause i don't talk about meetings or field service.

i would like to reinforce the fact that she doesn't like negative conversations, remind her of my marriage and divorce and after my divorce when i wanted to have an ear to listen to me, but she didn't...so since she set the rules of no negative comments that is why i chose not to talk about meetings or field service because they are negative>.

I totally agree with what Mouthy said earlier-try to catch your sister in a love trap. I mean, when you think about it, she is as much a victim of that cult as any of us have been. When you're in the middle of it, it all looks so reasonable, then when you get out, it's hard to believe the garbage we all willingly ingested. Your sister is trying to save your soul in the only way she knows how, so try not to be too hard on her.

Maybe, with time, you can help her find her way out of this mess, so in the meantime, try not to lose your relationship with her completely. Hang in there, kiddo.

i have and have and have been extremely stressed.

......i know it is a means to an end but i have been a right pain in the arse to those nearest and dearest to me lately........ hey ho.. summer ahead.

I just finished with my final exams for college. I agree, it's tremendously stressing, but just keep reminding yourself of the eventual payoff, such as a degree. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who was looking forward to a little drink when it was all over! Good for you (and Simon!) for persevering to get through it all, and good luck with your grades.

what does prayer mean to you, not what others have told you it means.

I always loved to pray, it was so amazing to me that I might not be able to reach anyone to help me when I called my phone company, but I could talk to the creator of the universe whenever I needed to. I still do pray, every day, only differently. The first thing I had to do was stop saying the name Jehovah. Now it's more because I truly want to talk to the creator, not because I feel obligated; also I think my prayers, as they reflect my growing relationship with Her, are more meaningful and sincere.

ok i've been trying to do these two posts now for about 4 hours, simons software is as ever hopeless, not that i do not appreciate his efforts.. what i'll do is this, tomorrow, i will put all these pictures into my yahoo photos and provide the link in a separate post so you will have to wait for that, for now, what is left of my sunday, i want to enjoy for myself, tis too nice to be stuck in front of this machine for another hour.. sorry..
