I have never lived in a haunted house.

But I used to be haunted for long period of time in my dreams. night mares. very haunting.

My neighbour has had some (what people would call) premonitions this past year. Maybe that is not the right word.

It's those inexplanable things that occur or that you see just before someone dies.

    scary stuff.

    sincerely

My Uncle used to live in a flat above a Devil Worshipper - they had some strange things happen there, including Growling (sounded like a bluddy big dog, but they didn't have one), faces appearing and disappearing on the walls; apparently there was some trouble with my cousin as a baby whilst they lived there, but no one in the family would ever 'elaborate'.

Needless to say, they moved out ASAP!!!

The Guy who lived below, apparently drove his girlfriend insane when she left him!

    btw, this is no BULL!

On a lighter note, an elder that I knew in my troubled past was given an old piano, that eventually they smashed to pieces, saying that they could hear it 'playing to itself' occasionally at night! Freaky.............

FREAKY! Scary and wierd. Keep em coming!

I have had ghostly things happen *to* me, but never lived in a haunted house .

Three weeks ago, we went to do a ghost investigation at the Black Swan Inn, in San Antonio, Texas. This is a house from the late 1800s, and fronts the battleground of the Battle of Salado. Beautiful house. They hold weddings here, and the grounds are quite beautiful, with lots of roses, statues, gardens. Really nice. We had a psychic come to do a seance (but it really wasn't a seance, more like a channeling). She was really pretty lousy. You could definitely tell she was putting on a show. <rolls eyes>

During the night, several strange things happened. There was one room in particular where as you go in the door, it smelled like cloves. Then toward the middle of the room it smelled like dead flesh. Bleck. Of course, it was next door to the men's restroom.. hehhehe. During the seance, the door at the top of the hall leading to the room was closed and locked. The lady that owns the house had to come to the other door, and unlock it to let us out. lights would go on and off. Then, whilst sitting out on the porch with my best friend and another friend smoking, we heard screaming of a child coming out of the woods at 3 a.m. I had a sprained ankle and it had ballooned to enormous proportions, so I wasn't about to walk clear into the woods to investigate. There aren't even any houses in that direction at all. Just an old Adventist summer camp place. I thought we should have called 911, but they thought that if we did and they came out we'd look really silly. So they went and investigated, but came back and said they could find nothing. While they were gone, I heard a cat screaming. It was all very eerie.

There was another bedroom that had these creepy dolls in it, so I set up my camcorder in there, but got nothing on tape. It was a very fun time, despite the smelly room... hehhhe.

In Hertford, North Carolina, my family lived in a house for a bit less than a year. This house was inhabited by something malevolent, but I can't say for sure what it was. I'd hear footsteps inside when I was there alone, and a few times they would approach very close to me. Things got moved around, lights would turn on and off. I mostly remember the palpable feeling of terror I always felt when I got close to the house, a feeling the other members of my family shared, I later discovered. Come to think of it, that's where my insomnia first took hold! Creepy, scary place; I was thrilled when we moved to Texas because I never had to feel that house breathing down the back of my neck again.

A work-mate (a woman, I don't know if the word is still "mate") lived in a previous inn for some years, and at the top floor some strange things happened, she felt the presence of someone watching over them.

One day, when she was painting and decorating the house as they were moving in, she placed her three years old daughter on the top of a closet, and told her to sit still, while she herself quickly ran downstairs to get some paint. Returning, her daughter stood on the floor. The closet was two metres tall. "How did you get down? Did you fall?" she asked rather desperately. "No", says the daughter, "The grey man lifted me down" ..............

Shortly afterwards, the same daughter managed to walk down the very steep stairs from the second to the first floor by herself. Again mother asks rather nervously, "How did you manage to walk those stairs without falling or climbing?" Says the daughter, "The grey hand held me firmly and helped me down" .........................

The attic window would open and close according to its own will - they assumed the "grey man" somehow "lived" up there.

Yes! The house I currently live in was built in 1898 and I've seen a couple of ghosts. Also we have freaky things happening. It helped when I did a house blessing (there are ways of helping stop this stuff) but I didn't ask the nicer spirits to leave, I mean, its almost like their house too!

I have a piano which is older than my house - I think 1839. I've owned it since I was 9 and back then I'd regularly hear it playing at night. For some reason I thought it was my grandad (who I never knew) because my mother said he played by ear. I haven't heard it playing in my adult life though.

What you've got to remember is that even though a spirit is scary it doesn't mean that its evil. There are dodgy entities out there but generally your average haunting is an echo from the past or a spirit who just doesn't want to move on.
