Happy Dad, THANK YOU! We used to listen to this guy all the time at my old job, and I always liked him. However, I couldn't find his music to buy, because for the life of me, I couldn't remember his last name.

Mother Teresa doubted God's existence during her last years
by Gregor inher personal diarys and letters have revealed she doubted gods reality and this in turn caused her to ask herself "is jesus true?
" she no longer prayed right up until her death.
in my opinion this in no way detracts from her being a wonderful, self sacrificing woman.

Pubsinger, don't feel like an outcast, dear. Apparently, I'm also "thin-skinned". The gentleman in question made some pretty offensive and ill-informed remarks about my religion some weeks ago, to which I rightly took umbrage. To my knowledge, nothing was done then, either.
Back on topic: I've heard this about Mother Teresa before. The lady was witness to some pretty horrific things during her service in India. I imagine they could have caused her to doubt God's existence, or to feel that God had turned His back on her work. Perhaps it is better to occasionally or continually hold our faith up for examination, and to explore our doubts, than to accept church doctrine unthinkingly. In other words, perhaps this actually made her a better Christian, ultimately. And it doesn't detract from her lifetime of good works.

Minimus, quite a few of my family and friends, the people I love, are active witnesses. Sorry, I can't see the humor in the situation.

According to Watchtower News, The witnesses were not supposed to charge assembly attendees a parking fee- this was stated in their contract when they booked the convention center. However, they did charge for parking, calling it a "contribution" which appears to have been mandatory. Ordinarily, the city of Tacoma would have received the revenue from parking fees, but the WBTS seems to have pocketed around $120,000 in this case. Not sure how widespread this practice is.

Ummm, Gregor...
I really hope that was meant as a joke. Nicolau's whole family is beautiful, and his wife looks like she could be an actress or model- she's very pretty.

Scream when Raped...
by KW13 inthought i'd bring this up again, i found it on the watchtower library and thought it was extremely annoying how they can say rubbish like this.. rape has become increasingly common today.
a major reason seems obvious.
sex and violence explode from tv and movie screens, from radio, newspapers, magazines and billboards.

My best friend was raped in high school. He was the captain of the football team, charismatic, handsome, upper-middle-class white boy. She was poor, of mixed race, and a bit of an outcast. She had to endure all of the kids in school calling her a slut, saying she'd made the whole thing up, and even saying that IF it had happened, she should just keep her mouth shut, so she wouldn't mess up his chance of getting a football scholarship.
I don't know if she screamed or not, or if she was able to physically resist him at all. She never mentioned, and I won't ask. How she acted is not what's important; the fact that the boy violently assaulted her against her will is the only thing that matters. She didn't ASK to be violated; the situation was forced upon her with no warning. I'm just thankful that, screaming or not, she survived the attack and is, in a physical sense, ok. I hope the rapist has never had a moment's peace or one night's rest in the past 15 years, and that one day I'll run into him in a dark alleyway.

Too Bad- I'm glad that you went, and that you enjoyed the experience! You're right, most houses of worship feel more "holy" or positive than a K-Hall does.

Snakes in the Tower- yeah, I know how you feel, I think. I still have hanging in my kitchen a big, framed photo of my cat Antoinette. I had to have her put to sleep three years ago, and I still miss that girl.
Everyone- My mom is in a really bad way right now. I had her stay at my place for a few hours last night, so she wouldn't have to go right back to an empty apartment right away. I apologize for being so angry in my earlier posts about her; I was frustrated because she wouldn't acknowledge how seriously ill her kitty was. I think it was wishful thinking on her part; she loved that cat more than you can imagine.
I'm helping her gather up any kitty stuff that can be used again, and we're boxing it up. One day, when she's feeling ready, I'll take her to the Humane Society, and she says she wants an older cat. I agree, kittens are so darn cute, they're easy to find homes for. But an older fella will end up sitting there forever.
Thanks again, everyone.

Thanks for all your replies and encouragement. There was nothing my mom could do. $1500 surgery which may or may not save him. If she'd let it go any longer, kitty would have really suffered, so Mum opted to have him put to sleep right away. He's gone now, and I'm digging a grave for him in my backyard. My mom is inconsolable; she feels it's her fault, but truly, that cat (Baby) ate everything within reach. Short of putting him in a completely empty room his whole life, there was no way she could have guaranteed his safety. Thanks, all.
