Great Thread, SFJim
This is a question that's bothered me. I know at some point I'll drop the ball and fall short.I guess I'm gone after that.
jehovah's witnesses are taught that they will live "forever" on paradise earth.. let's say the year is 278,486 (assuming armageddon occurred in 2003).
the millenium has passed, everyone has been resurrected, and earth has become the true paradise the jws predicted.. only one problem: you've done everything there is to do.
you've gone every place on earth there is to go.

i got a new peircing, a monroe.
or madonna in some circles... .
i have been getting mixed reviews, but i like it.
Your best features are your eyes...Peircings are cute if you're still young enough.
single or married or living with someone (if you can talk about).
what do you :like in your situationdislike in your situation.
for better understanding please tell us also your age.
Jo: Yes, I would be surprised... I've been here for a year, and nothin'...
Staring at sisters' breasts while handling mics.
Remember that one...Or, seeing how foxy they try to look on the Sunday of a distrcit convention. One sister I lusted after wore a little black dress and seamed stockings to the last day. Jehovah loved me, even if she didn't.
time to crack the stuffiness out of ourselves today.
well...let's say, everyday.. i'm going to have some fun here, because well, anything besides that, is no fun.. questions, questions, and more questions, and what will the answers be?
you decide.. 1. are you an exjw, but still have remnants (shhh) of former jw thinking?.
1. Are you an exJW, but still have remnants (shhh) of former JW thinking?
Still in...agree with it more than disagree, but this whole nit-picking and unofficial exclusion crap has got to stop.
2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?
Not really...I'm rather confrontational, and something like this could be what does it.
3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?
Mostly the concieved differences between the world and the society. That stuff about "Witness families stay together" was obviously off. I've also never seen a group of people who can turn on you as quick as they do.
4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?
Hey, my Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.
5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?
I was talking to a witness sister in my hall. Seemed interesting and interested in me. Then she ran down a checklist of what she expected out of a husband: Pioneer, good job, Hall building committee, servant...Then it dawned on me that nothing I've ever done in the faith was good enough...meanwhile, I put in the same effort at my school and get new teacher of the year.
6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?
I'm looking at it with a skeptical (not cynical) eye. It's got some real wisdom still.
7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?
Without a doubt.
8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)
Of course.
9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.
Only the really vile ones. Or, if they were really hypocritical (i.e. an elder that went on about materialism becoming a gambling addict)
10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)
Yes.
11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?
Don't eat yellow snow.
i know some of you are hiding, but i am curious as to how far around the world everyone on here is from.
i am in sask, canada.
In Dallas, Texas now...not disclosing my orignial home yet.
i'm officially single.
i don't know how to feel exactly.
thank you to everyone who has been so sweet and kind and supportive of me, you have no idea how much it's meant to me.
(((Tink)))
You're young, sharp, kind and beautiful...But nobody feels that way after a breakup.
This will pass...swear to God it will. Give yourself a little time, work on you, and it will happen again when you're ready.

I'll also say this...After talking to so many people on this board and around my new circle of friends at work, I also see how much more likely I am to find someone than before. However, you tend to think pessimistically of your romantic potential after getting left.
My (witness) friends have noticed this, and are taking pains to fix me up. That's also one of the doubts that has me here: I'd love to be in a relationship, but I don't think I'm what most girls in the organization want.
hello fellow screen junkies,.
i have had a number of messages in recent days concerned about my posting style having changes in recent weeks.
as you may note i have become a little more combative in my replies of late and have imbued a new sense of tenacity when dealing with certain issues.
Good post...
I'm not thinking of replacing one cult with another...
i have collected sayings, homilies, whatever along the way that crystallize something bigger i learned.
i will post a few every day.
if you have one, please share it.. if you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas.. to belittle is to be little.. somewhere, i got the idea if i just took care of others, i would be taken care of.. blondie
