LT, who will go ANY distance for a party...
One of these day's, I'll have to visit you while digging up the white side of my ancestry...
much has been posted about the recent superbowlfest, so i don't want to repeat too much, especially after the synopsis that country girl posted:.

He's actually PLEASED that someone has to work three jobs? A man who until now had a hard time holding down ONE?
does anyone know what the wbts says re: the letters to the churches in the book of revelation?
do these letters mean anything to the annointed/remnant?
just curious, thanks.. michelle
Geez, the whole Revelation Climax book starts out with that. In typical JW fashion, they spend a whole chapter on five scriptures. I think it's mostly a chance to point out the flaws that most congregations today have in their eyes.
this is impressive.
i've now been watching tv for 1 and a half hours and have yet to see *anything* happen.
will they play any sport at all or just 'tit about' all evening?
Simon!
The last minutes of the game were great! Fess up, man, it started slow (Defense wins championships), but a nice finish!
.
finally, superbowl sunday is here!
pats 32 - 24. and the half-time show's costumes will consist of all one-piece seemless garments.. kwin
Just remember...the Niners talked big like this in the 80's too...and where are they now? Winners of the Matt Linart Sweepstakes, that's where.
...jeez....how much longer..... i can hardly wait.. the best films ever??
i tink so bruder' .
quick...my lightsaber.
Leo:
I'm sure as a true Paduwan you knew that the end of Jedi was not supposed to be an Ewok planet, but instead the home planet of the Wookies (chewie's folks). That would have made the subsequent ass-kicking of the stormtroopers both believeable and cool.
can you recommend anything.
i've already got pink floyd, queen, etc.
can you make some suggestions in the area of rock and electro?
Glen Frey, "Smuggler's Blues" -- How was this NOT on the Grand Theft Auto soundtrack?
Europe, "The Final Countdown" -- Drum Intro? Guitar intro? Nope...try a synth intro.
Howard Jones, "No One Ever is to Blame" -- My first kiss at age 15 . I have to stop EVERYTHING when this comes on.
Basia, "Time and Tide" -- Great jazz voice. A very personal memory, too.
Paul Carrack, "Don't Shed a Tear for Me." -- A great way to let a girl have it after she kicks you to the curb
The Go-Go's, "Can't Stop the World." -- One of my get-goin' songs.
Prince, "Raspberry Beret" -- A song about a first time. very funkadelic.
The Beastie Boys, "No Sleep till Brooklyn" -- Underappreciated.
The Clash, "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" -- Combat Rock was their last album (Cut the Crap doesn't count.)
Warrant, "Cherry Pie" -- Gotta have a hair metal song.
Twisted Sister, "We're Not Gonna Take It." -- OK, gotta have TWO hair metal songs.
Linda Ronstadt, "Don't Know Much." -- She sounds like she cries every song. And her eyes...I'm powerless...
REM, "It's the End of the World as We Know It (and I feel fine.)"-- years better than that Billy Joel "We didn't start the fire" P.O.S.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, a lot of us have negative things to say about the organization. Why, would you ask, would an internet site that labels itself a Jehovah's Witness discussion board have an overwhelming slant in it from its posters?
Simple: The Witnesses frown on an honest, critical discussion of their doctrines, dogma and practices.
If they can't personally regulate it from their highest reaches, they discourage it.
They will ask you to examine your own faith and other religions with an investigative eye. They will not even tolerate similar scrutiny.
The reason for this is simple: Witness dogma doesn't hold up. They have changed their tune about prophecies, their standards of morality, neutrality and even the nature of the Bible so often, and then conveniently label it "new light", all the while forbidding any individual research.
A lot of us have posted stories about our time in their organization. here's a link to those:

GREAT Thread, blondie
I played "Get Up, Stand Up" on the Jukebox Friday while hanging out with Else, FMZ and Valis. You can fool people some times
But you can't fool all the people all the time
Now you see the light
So stand up for your rights
And the chorus to "Three Little Birds" is the definition of inspirational.
