yep, it's my 1,000th post.

i guess that makes me a jedi upon my next post.

i had a speech prepared... but oh well.... i'd just like to thank my parents for giving me this computer, crazy mocha coffee company for letting me borrow their network card for months at a stretch, upmc for giving me a job with night shift access to the internet, and my wife for keeping me alive for almost two years now.. thank you, thank you, thank you, all of you.

My Best Friends Still Love Me

i had a talk with my best friend (who is still an active jw) the other day, and told her that i wasn't interested in remaining an active witness any more.

i knew she would accept my feelings, because she's a wonderful person and is actually very emotionally healthy, but was afraid because i didn't really know how tight a grip the mind control had on her, and didn't know if she would feel obligated to back off in our friendship any.

i was deeply afraid of that, because we're as close, if not closer than, sisters.. to my pleasant surprise, she not only totally accepted my feelings, but she already knew what i was going to say before i said it.

Finding out a close freind is a traitor is horrid...as Dante said, the deepest circle of Hell is reserved for these.

I'm glad you're reasonable with the parents...The fade was a little accelerated for you two, but at least things are civil...you'll have to share how you did it...I know I'll be using it soon...with probably far less reasonable people...

Militant Apostates

i'm wondering if there are many truly militant apostates out there....... some real god hating watchtower bashing hard guys....i just read the "bill bowen update" thread and feel that all opposition is good opposition, and knowing that the wt society can see any posts we make, also feel its a shame they can see squabbles among their enemies.

Oh, no...I'm not leaving one organization where I pioneered just to do it again in another one...

To me, one of the benefits of leaving will be not having to go back to assemblies...and If I go protesting them, that defeats that purpose...besides, If someone is truly happy as a witness (etirely possible), I'm not standing in their way.

men or women who cheat on thier spouses, not just once, but repeatedly, with various people.

also, do you find those actions mature, or... immature?.

I never cheated on the wife while together, but started looking about 6-8 months after she left. I would ask a girl out (very unsucessfully) even tough I was technically still married.

six months after I moved away (while still looking, on my first fade attempt and still technically married) she called an confessed that she had been sleeping around.

I don't blame her at all (in fact, I'm a little glad she did...I look like the guy who was right all along), but I was a little dissapointed...no matter how little you think of a person and what they've done to you emotinally, I did invest lot of time and effort in all areas while we were together (and even a good amount after she had left), so it did sting to imagine her with another man...even though I was actively seeking the company of another woman.

hypocritcal, no? and that's my pet peeve....
