  you're 18, (considered an adult), want to move out of your parents house to get away from your dysfunctional mom, and can't because you feel guilty leaving your mom and dad because your parents have alot of health problems?.

  i absolutely cannot function in this environment.

  Make it clear that YOU have goals...no truly loving parent would give a good reason to stand in the way of them. Does she expect you to stay there forever?

  And Winston, that is a good book...I've used it to deal with my dad and stepmom. Also, try "The Art of Verbal Self-Defense"

  we're almost in the year 2005. back in my jw days, i never saw mankind making it to the year 2000 without armageddon happening.

  it's now almost 5 years since the new millenium began.

  either jehovah's shitty chariot has lost a wheel, or his earthly organization is actually a huge dung pile in brooklyn.. armageddon isn't coming.

  I'm trying to pile together hockey game trip on the New Year's Night (That's Saturday)

  Tulsa plays Fort Worth at the TCCC. I thought that it would be great to have an apostaouting while watching a violent, forbidden sport on the night of a horrible secular holiday at the same place so many of us wasted summer days at conventions.

  Does anyone watch Reno911! or MXC ?

  so i had never had cable or sat until this fall when i bought dish to watch my red sox, rather than to just listen on the porch with my trusty radio.. well now my son and i are hooked on these weird shows, reno 911!

  does anyone else watch them or have i sunk to depths that are unspeakable?

  For those of us with active JW parents

  there seem to a commonality around here about active jw parents shunning us.. my question is: if your parents weren't a jw, do you think they would be normal, act kindly, be a real parent to you?

  or would they still be cold and callused towards you, controlling, etc.

  my thought is this, so many times i used to think i wish my mom wasn't a jw because then i thought she would be this wonderful caring mother that i could go to lunch with, share shopping days with, recipes, and we'd be close.

  I just saw the trailer today. I bolted up and gave a Howard Dean "YEAH!" in the theater.
