Good catch, “Oubliette”! One for each of the two animated kids to look at . . . . and wonder.

The following photo is a still frame captured from the latest semi-animated video on JW.org called “Caleb and Sophia Visit Bethel”:
Here is the direct link to this video:
The photo shows a general archive display apparently at the Bethel (I’m assuming that this is at the current Watchtower headquarters) which seems to include some photos of the famous vintage presentation Photo Drama of Creation. Notice one of the little photos in the display which I have highlighted with the yellow circle. That sure appears to me to be the famous “cross and crown” logo which the Watchtower Society used to place on the cover of the Watchtower magazines. You can judge for yourselves, but I’m pretty sure that that is what it shows.
The reason for this thread is this: Don’t you find it just a little odd and strange that the current video for children featured on JW.org, which would be seen by possibly millions, would present a scene showing an archive display photo of the “cross and crown” logo which is positioned basically right above the heads of the characters, Caleb and Sophia? Most viewers would simply pass right over this, but to me it seems to be a rather glaring manifestation of the obvious “pagan” and “mystical” roots of the Watchtower organization.
As a refresher, the following photo shows one of the actual Watchtower magazine covers bearing that logo near the top-left corner.
Here is a single photo of a cross and crown logo by itself:
Also, here is another still frame from that same video on JW.org showing the characters, Caleb & Sophia, with Governing Body member Anthony Morris III. I must wonder, what would be the appropriateness of showing the characters in a video for children posing with a member of the Governing Body? Wouldn’t that be idolizing man, which is really a form of idolatry? This kind of makes one think about the almost star-struck view which the JWs have of their very much human leaders, as well the rather self-aggrandizing view which the Governing Body has of themselves:
I know that this could appear to some to be somewhat petty, but these are all just part of the “red flags” which constantly accumulate which at some point would surely cause a person to eventually wake up and say, “Hey!”

The other ones I can think of are:
• The identification of the “superior authorities” of Romans chapter 13, which has been changed and then changed back again;
• The policy regarding organ transplants (once thought to be cannibalism), which was also changed and then changed back again;
• The policy about getting immunization shots against major diseases (polio, influenza, tuberculosis, small pox, rabies, etc.);
• Flimsy scripture references WTS uses to prohibit birthdays, mother’s/father’s day, tattoos, lottery tickets, smoking, hypnotherapy, beards, women microphone handlers, etc. (you know, those scriptures that just don’t fit at all), often making them disfellowshipping offenses (except beards, I guess, which is more related to earning “privileges” in the congregation).
The search feature shown at the top of this JWD Web page will easily provide all the necessary WTS literature references and scriptural references they use, which can more than adequately show that the WTS has basically been trying to pound a square peg into a round hole as far as forcing their own “scriptural” interpretations.

Maybe there is some kind of setting or feature that you added, or is somehow being made use of, which is unnecessary and can be removed, whatever that might be. (I have no idea.) Maybe try simply cutting and pasting the table into Word or WordPad or something very basic like that and then putting that file into your Web page as is. The less complicated, the better, as I find that there seems to be more compatibility issues across Web browsers these days.

So, if he still does it again, maybe we should make it a “capital offense”? Perhaps a stoning at the next big “apostafest.” There’s nothing like a nice, drawn- out stoning to strengthen those biceps.

Lying about Shunning! jw.org conceals the "truth"
by Skinnedsheep inhttp://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/shunning/ .
"those who were baptized as jehovahs witnesses but no longer preach to others, perhaps even drifting away from association with fellow believers, are not shunned.
in fact, we reach out to them and try to rekindle their spiritual interest.".

“JW.org” Web site heading: “Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Shun Former Members of Their Religion?”
This is definitely intentionally misleading. Why? Because anyone from the outside looking at that Web page would see the words “Former Members” and naturally relate it to those no longer JWs for any reason, including those disfellowshipped, disassociated, or those simply weak and chronically absent. Indeed, all those members who formally become former members (platform announcement) are basically to be abhorred, loathed, demonized, and completely, . . . . what’s that word? . . . . oh yah, SHUNNED. (And no doubt physically stoned to death if it was legally allowed.)
“Skinnedsheep”: “. . . drifting away from association with fellow believers, . . .”
I remember the two pertinent terms which the Watchtower has used are “drift away” and “draw away,” stating that someone can “drift” away before he realizes it but that someone who “draws” away is more or less intentionally pushing himself away from God and the Christian congregation and is thus culpable for doing so. (That is, according to the WTS.) The illustration they use is that of someone gradually and imperceptibly drifting away, as in a subtle water current, versus someone who consciously and deliberately “turns away.” The case of “drifting away” implies simply fading, whereas “drawing away” supposedly involves deliberately turning away – however, the reader of the outside general public may very likely not make such a distinction and just assume that both scenarios are of those who “are not shunned,” as stated in the first paragraph under the above heading on “JW.org.”
“EndofMysteries”: “A man cheats on his wife, has sex with another women. She asks him, "Did you cheat on me?" He says no. He did NOT lie. He didn't behave dishonestly with her to gain some advantage, he merely had sex with another women. If she asks him, "Did you sleep with another women", he says no, he did NOT lie, he didn't sleep at all, he had sex.” . . . “To me lying is knowing what somebody is asking and giving an answer that you know they are understanding to be completely different from how you are presenting it.”
Good illustration. Half-truths can be used to intentionally mislead, knowing full well the context and scope of the issue. A truthful answer should be what is naturally and generally implied by the question. In the above example quoted where a man says that he did not “cheat” on his wife or “sleep” with another woman when he actually did have extra-marital sex, consider this: If you provided such an answer to, say, a police officer, federal official, or a judge under oath, what do you think the outcome would be? It kind of reminds me of how Charles Taze Russell and Fred Franz tried to use this type of misleading answering under oath to dodge the issues, especially when asked about their prowess in Hebrew and Greek scholarship, and whether the Watchtower Society was “a religious organization” (i.e., in the trial of Douglas Walsh of Dumbarton, Scotland).

(I’m sort of sorry for the lameness of that one. I just felt that pun was sort of warranted in the circumstances, and therefore sort of funny.)

1914-1919 ONE QUESTION???
by ADJUSTMENTS inafter reading a great article and video by mr john cedars on his website:.

it raised a very simple and straightforward question:.

It never ceases to amaze me that the WTS is so absolutely convinced that it was specifically chosen as the one-and-only true mouthpiece for Almighty God and His son, Jesus Christ, by 1919 for standing out as being spiritually “clean” (or “pure”), apparently having already been “refined” (compared to the process of smelting rare, precious metals), when everything has continued to be turned upside-down and inside-out for all that time up until now. Hard to imagine that this is the unfailing work of the perfect Creator of the universe!
Amazing how much clarity one can get simply by removing the special Cracker Jack WT glasses.

A religion that started in 1914 similar to JW's with millions of adherents!!!!
by yadda yadda 2 iniglesia ni cristo!
founded in 1914 with millions of members and similar doctrines to the jw's, maybe jesus selected them instead of jw's lol!.

Funny, but I don’t recall reading any article in the Watchtower or Awake! magazine about this “Iglesia ni Cristo” religion. Perhaps the WTS wouldn’t want to write an article about a religion that is so similar to the JWs just in case some people might begin to see the parallel and connect the dots. (Some might think that Jesus’ selection of his “true” organization wound up resulting in a tie.)

THE WBATS AND THEIR CONSTANT HEADACHE SINCE 1914!
by ADJUSTMENTS inthe wbats and their gb have done some major pr damage control with the "old" new light of the overlapping generation in 2010, and the recent new light of the fds arrangement in 2013, it has helped stave off some of their bleeding.
i can remember at the time when it was first announced it went completely over my head, i didn't even bat an eye or loose a step.
i just didn't understand at the time (not completely understanding jw doctrine and chronology, and just what the jw cult leadership bets on for the rank and file when releasing new light) how critical of a so-called "adjustment" that was, until several years later and being able to finally see some old light through research and connecting the dots.

I think that today’s Watchtower study, which is about not questioning the Governing Body and not daring to listen to “apostates,” is really part of the WTS’ effort to keep people in line through fear in the hopes that there won’t be too much of a mass exodus of their followers if – I mean, when – the big, bad “great tribulation” doesn’t start happening (peace and security, fall of Babylon the Great, blah, blah) by the end of this year of 2014.
I can almost feel them trying to do some fancy footwork in anticipation of this inevitable reality for them, which will no doubt require some more of that damage control (perhaps some more “new light”). They will have to do some kind of new maneuvering in order to hold on to their flock of googly-eyed sheep, many of whom might just be starting to check things out online even at this very moment. This year might prove to be another little bump in the old dog-and-pony show tour.
