The Watch Tower organization operates under its most useful asset: FEAR – which has helped ensure their dominance over all their members, including the wee ones.

Bunker Video: Why No Concluding Scene?
by Wild_Thing ini was wondering why they ended the "bunker video" as they did ... with an armed militia finding the jws huddled in the corner of the basement ... fade to black.
the jws watching don't know what happened after that.
did they kill them?

This new “bunker video” is just one more tactic in the WT organization’s arsenal for the sole purpose of promoting the one thing which has served them well all along: FEAR!
They used to portray imagery of Armageddon in the artwork in books, most notably the big orange book from the 1950s called From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained, depicting all the non-JWs, including little children and even their pets, falling into large crevices opening up in the ground. (The images of those truly evil and manipulative drawings have been indelibly imprinted onto a lot of young, impressionable minds for life!)
But now, it would seem that people are less scared of the idea of God acting in that way, as people probably don’t identify with it as much in this secular, technological world. So, instead of focusing on some miraculous, supernatural worldwide destruction, they’re instead now trying to instil a kind of fearful scenario which is more plausible and hits home more effectively by playing on people’s fears of a rogue government and anarchistic social disorder.
That kind of fear is more effective because instead of involving an abstract and enigmatic deity, such as an angry and vengeful Jehovah, the fear relates to elements of actual real life which we know exist and we can see – that is, people comprising things like governments, the police and the military (or a militia), etc. Such elements and factions of human society do indeed at least exist. They are tangible. And thus a manufactured fear of those things going terribly wrong is more identifiable and effective.
A horror movie involving an ordinary house in an ordinary neighbourhood seems more frightening than a movie about a clearly fictitious and fanciful setting, such as an alien planet in some other galaxy. The sort of “horror film” which is the current convention “bunker video” relates to a theme that is familiar and identifiable – which is the perfect new venue for the new round of manipulative fear mongering for which the WT organization is so famous.

Now this is weird, ever heard of the "Mandela Effect" ??? What if... ?
by Greybeard innow this is weird, ever heard of the "mandela effect" ???
i know how crazy it sounds but i got to tell you, this article about the governing body finally admitting the "faithful slave" was not divinely appointed by jesus in 1919 was epic to me.
like a mandela effect feeling.

This so-called phenomenon of the “Mandela effect” is absolutely and profoundly retarded! It is nothing more than mass misremembering. The correct understanding tends to be the simplest. (Look up “Occam’s Razor.” Scully referred to it on the X-Files.)
I think what happens is that some influential person on mass media, such books, radio, or television, publicly misremembers, or misquotes, a well-known term or phrase, and then it catches on to the point where it becomes a commonly perpetuated mistake, or aberration, from the original.
That’s all it is! This so-called “Mandel effect” is in reality nothing more than commonly shared misremembering of a well-known term or phrase. That’s it.
(“Alternative reality” – give me a break!)
As for the application of this “Mandela effect” to the WT governing body, that is simply the case of a cult having to change its basic dogma in response to the ever-advancing arrow of time in relation to its cherished teaching regarding its own contrived identity and authority.
And that’s it!

I just checked out a YouTube page for “AudioMachine,” and it stated regarding “The Lion’s Heart”:
. “Monetize this music on your own YouTube videos and personal projects by purchasing a micro license today!
Here is the link to that page:
So, from that it looks like this “micro license” can be purchased for some kind of limited use of certain short recordings. I’m just wondering if perhaps the WT Society had purchased some kind of “micro license” for the usage of the specific portion of soundtrack used in the new WT video. It could very well be that there was some kind of tailor-made arrangement put in place between the WT Society and “AudioMachine.” (I suppose one would have to actually confer with the WT legal department to verify that.)

The two tracks certainly sound identical alright. I’m sure those artists in “AudioMachine” would appreciate being made aware of the soundtrack used in the new WT video, if they haven’t already.
The WT should have included a reference in the ending credits to that specific track and album, “Epica,” by the group “AudioMachine.” Then, the loyal JWs would be able to see exactly where the WT Society acquired the soundtrack from – and just how that measures up to the parochial standards they’ve been imposing on their sheep. (I.e., comparing the rather mystical, Harry-Potter-like artwork on the cover of the album “Epica” and the gothic-sounding chanting sounds therein to what the WT Society considered to be “appropriate” for “true Christians.”)

You wear tight pants and you will be in trouble
by wannaexit ini was reading in another forum, that a letter to the elders instructed them to speak to anybody who persists in wearing tight pants.
if changes don't happen then the instructions are to disqualify him from being a publisher but it won't be announced to the congregation.
i am am curious to see if this letter will surface.

There is really no rhyme or reason for all these petty, Pharisaical little laws. The governing body just wants their followers to be different for its own sake (i.e., they want people to dress, groom, and act in a certain way just because).
When I emailed my JW friend a year or so regarding the spandex (“spankx,” or “spanks”) thing in Anthony Morris’ infamous tirade, my friend replied by saying something to the effect that ‘God’s people should stand out as different, just like the Israelites, who were required to wear a blue thread along the bottom fringed edges of their robes’ (or some similar wording). That goes to show how JWs become hard-wired to just accept any and everything coming down the pike from the governing body – just because.

Okay, this has got me mad!
. “Some brothers lean toward effeminate characteristics and grooming habits. . . . The manifesting of effeminate traits, perhaps in one’s bearing, body language, and manner of speech.”
That is not only discriminatory and egregiously inflammatory, but it is also a defamation of people’s personal character, of the cruelest kind! Many men, including myself, are born somewhat sensitive and have some effeminate mannerisms and characteristics (such as being a bit soft-spoken and shy, or gesturing freely when speaking). But that does NOT necessarily indicate somehow that they are in any way homosexual or that they have any kind of conduct which is unnatural or improper.
Not every man has to fit into the governing body’s little box of old and outdated macho stereotypes. They obviously don’t have a clue about the fact that people do have different personality types, as recognized in social psychology. And these old buggers have the nerve and the gall to say that they, and they only, are divinely inspired by Almighty God Himself (that is, except when they’re being taken to task and grilled in something like, oh, say, an Australian Royal Commission, for example).
If any hint of this kind of petty nonsense were to appear in the secular workplace, then it could most definitely result in legal proceedings for discrimination and even abuse.
And just how would their supposed master, Jesus Christ, have treated men who may be considered sensitive, soft-spoken, and shy – effeminate – yes, how would Jesus have treated such ones? Would he have said, “Get away from me – you sound like a f^ggot!” No, absolutely not. Jesus, as we well know, was famous for being kind, considerate, and loving towards everyone. He talked with various women (even known prostitutes) and touched lepers. He obviously saw beyond the petty nonsense which the governing body enjoys revelling in.
Anthony Morris III, along with the rest of the governing body charlatans, can, in my opinion, stick this hateful crap right up their tight old rear ends, where it belongs! These men need to be publicly exposed for what they are.
Somebody should see that this circuit overseer program outline for meeting with elders and ministerial servants gets exposure in the public media, perhaps featured as an item in a news program or published in some newspapers and magazines. People out there need to be made aware of this stuff!

Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

Often when I was a child and my mom would introduce me to some of her old friends at a different congregation, she would announce to them: “Oh, he’s shy,” while she grinned and made a little chuckle at them. (Yes, I am, in fact, a classic introvert, and also diagnosed by two doctors as having Aspergers Syndrome.)
Just to reiterate: The absolute worse thing to do to an introvert (or shy or Aspergers person), for Christ’s sake, is to actually announce to other people that ‘we’re shy’!

I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

In reality, it’s not too late, nor should it rightfully be, for you to back out of it! Remember, legally there is a “grace period” to back out of something such as a contract for a new furnace or water heater. So, logically, a proposition which would literally involve giving of your whole life and very being to some printing corporation should likewise be conditional upon some reasonable sort of grace period.
The other consideration, which will hopefully end up being for you a light at the end of the tunnel, is money – that is, if you can somehow secure some employment from which you can save up a bit of money and establish some financial security, then you will have the real power to move out on your own and thus begin to assert your own ideals as you see fit, devoid of the silly little publishing corporation which seemed to hold so much power over you at the time.
My advice is to just do whatever you reasonably can toward that goal one day at a time.

“flipper”: “Is our biological sexual persuasion to be judged to be judged by other people's " I am " ? No, of course not. Unless that biological " sexual persuasion " involves . . . abusing farm animals.”
And just who endowed you with the privilege and power of judging those who are in the lonely zoophilia class? Now, I’m obviously against any harm to any living things, and certainly against the traumatization or abuse of any children, but, however, if a guy wants to play ride-the-cow (or filly horse, sow pig, donkey, camel), then who really is anyone to judge? I mean, as Jesus said at Matthew 7:1: “Stop judging that you may not be judged.”
So, if that’s what someone’s unique personal “I am” is – and he/she isn’t hurting anyone or any thing, then, well, what’s it to you, or anyone else?
