Maybe there should be just a couple of links at the bottom of the letter to Web sites such as http://www.jwfacts.com/ or http://www.quotes-watchtower.co.uk in the hopes that perhaps someone might make a mental note to check those sites sometime when they are alone. It’s always worth it to plant such references, as they would have a lot of effect if someone actually checked and saw them for themselves. Just look how effective and eye-opening such sites have been on ourselves.

The biggest stupid generalization the JWs make is, “So-and-so is in ‘the truth’ ” – so, therefore, it is supposed to be understood that So-and-so is among the one and only group/class of people who are automatically enlightened above everyone else (i.e., the rest of humanity; you know, “the world”) and deemed worthy of God’s (Jehovah’s) approval and salvation. . . . Yep. . . . “The TRUTH” . . . (thus the irony!).

Was There Anything A JW Said That Made You Raise Your Eyebrows?

When they always say at a JW wedding that “the bride and groom have requested that there be no throwing of any rice or confetti,” it always bothers me because, for starters, it’s really dishonest because I’m sure no bride or groom actually passes on such a specific request – in reality it’s a standard announcement to be made at all JW weddings just because throwing rice or confetti would be considered to be one of the zillion things from “false religion” (I guess they don’t care about the wedding rings!) – and secondly, because it’s yet another example of how profoundly legalistic and petty the WTS is about everything.
It’s all the contrived and controlling rules about all the little things that get me, such as clinking glasses or proposing a toast being considered a kind of crime in JW land. And, of course, if you were to go outside the grounds during the noon break at a district convention to have lunch in a restaurant, or even if you were to just buy a hotdog from a vending stand that was on the convention grounds, you would be pretty well considered to have sinned against the holy spirit. (And don’t get me started about beards and birthdays.)
Actually, all that silly corporate totalitarian stuff does affect my eyebrows – but it makes them cross downwards, not raise up. The only thing it raises is my temperature under the collar!

When you compare the relatively quite small number of people killed by Jim Jones (People’s Temple), David Koresh (Branch Davidians), and Marshall Applewhite (Heaven’s Gate) with the thousands – THOUSANDS – of men, women, children, and babies killed (effectively murdered!) by the Watchtower’s unique and ridiculous blood policy, it becomes extremely obvious that the Jehovah’s Witness “religion” is just another quirky cult – but with much more blood on their hands!

the reason for the name will become apparent.. there is not much going on there at the moment - the doors have only just been thrown open - but feel free to come over and say hello.. .

Us XJWs and fading JWs need a safe and friendly place where we can just get together to compare battle scars and reaffirm that we are certainly not alone. All of us have been hurt in one way or another by the Watchtower corporation’s disingenuous and aggressive proselytizing machine. Such a safe and friendly retreat is like a welcome breath of fresh air. I wish you all the best. Let’s get the party started, so to speak.

This certainly begs the question as to the appropriateness of Jesus, evidently the Firstborn Son of God, being a descendent of a Moabite parent, with all that entails or implies as to the status of someone from such national stock.
In other words, since Ruth was clearly a Moabitess and as such would ‘not have automatic access to the worshiping assembly,’ would it really be appropriate for such person to be so elevated in the lineage of the Messiah, especially given Jehovah’s reputation for exacting a very high and pure standard of holiness and consistency with everything else, and all the more so regarding matters of spiritual integrity and ethnic exclusivity? Was not Jehovah known for being most particular in not accepting any animal for sacrifice or even any person for service with any notable defect, including a man with leprosy or a missing limb or whose testicles were crushed, etc.?
All things considered, I believe this is still something which should make anyone at least say, “Hmm.”

My PERSONAL Complaint concerning Jehovah's Witnesses
by fulltimestudent ini was not much more than 16 when i became interested in the jws.
i was an idealistic, unrealistic (read, romantic) kid, concerned at the suffering of so many people as a result of ww2 and its aftermath.. i guess that made me an ideal target for the kingdom message.
but strangely the person who told me about the witnesses wasn't one.. where i worked, we often had quite deep discussions during morning tea breaks, and a non-witness kept bringing up the ideas of the witnesses.

Jehovah himself."--Hab. 3:17, 18.”Well, isn’t that appropriate for 1974 – the year before 1975. I guess the “fig tree” of the JWs’ grand deliverance, indeed, did not get enough fertilizer, because it sure didn’t do any blossoming in 1975!
Also, isn’t it most interesting that there were absolutely no mentions of either “Jehovah” or “Jah” in those yeartexts before 1932! Notice that before 1932, they just used the words “Lord” and “God.” You would think that if the name “Jehovah” was so extremely important (it sure is now!), they would have used it in at least one yeartext between 1919 – the year that the WTS was supposedly selected by “Jehovah” though Jesus – and 1932. That’s a rather long time – well over a decade – that they just seemed to have forgotten the name which they now thump obsessively. (Hmmm.)
And, last but not least, notice that in that entire listing of yeartexts, the name “Jesus” only appears ONCE – in 1922! Wow! (Big red flag, for sure.)
