my mother in law (in her 80's) just told me that she had the elders around to pick up her 'donation' pledge.
it was 'suggested that $20 a month was the average amount pledged but she could pledge more or less.
so, rather than an anonymous amount they have a signed document stating the amount of her pledge.
The bottom part on the sign above that literature booth (shown in the above post) says, “THIS MEANS WHAT IT SAYS: IT IS A FACT – INVESTIGATE!”
So, I guess you could say that this proves we have been told from the very beginning to do just that – investigate! And I did just that – starting with this Web site.
personally the jws to me are not dangerous.
on the other hand, many do think they are in fact a dangerous cult.
why are they dangerous?.

That’s my situation exactly! Only I was born just a couple of years after the end of the official “baby boomer generation,” so I’ll have at least a good decade or so to go before I can definitely do my big public FU to the WT. (That’s certainly something sweet to look forward to – my FU to the WT, that is; NOT my parents’ death, of course.)

Actually, the doctrinal prophecies of the WTS have a complete 100% failure rate! So much for their record of being the one-and-only true prophet of Almighty God. They just keep changing their doctrine (fancy footwork) and say that ‘the light grows brighter and brighter,’ which is really a total misrepresentation of the analogy of “the path of the righteous” at Prov. 4:18. (Ridiculous twits!)
As for the WTS’ member retention success, they would say that they consider their membership number – which as been steadily whittled down to less than half that of the Mormons due to those leaving (disfellowshipped, fading/disassociating) – is still a “success” because they are on the ‘narrow and cramped road leading to life’ which apparently ‘few are finding.’ (Matt 7:14) So does that mean that the Mormons (or the Catholics, for that matter) are enjoying more divine backing and “success”? So much for being effective witnesses of Almighty God.
The WTS purports to have an answer for everything, but the proof is in the pudding – which doctrinally, providentially, and numerically looks a whole lot like a doughnut (“0”) than a pudding!

Knowing TTATT brings a certain responsibility to simply make people aware of the facts about the WTS, to the end that the collective GB beast may be put under some reasonable limits and that people’s minds can eventually be freed from the oppressive bondage to manipulative and illogical BS. (Not to mention hopefully saving even one child or baby from being denied a necessary blood transfusion.)

I would certainly be willing to donate also. If everyone were to donate even just a dollar to a tangible campaign such Internet banner ads and maybe some physical billboard ads along a major highway, think of the effectiveness. And it would definitely be lifesaving, even if it prevents one child or baby from being denied a necessary blood transfusion!

That is certainly good general counsel for everyone. Sometimes, as with growing up in an organization like the Watchtower Society, one must independently and fearlessly begin taking stock of long-held beliefs and attachments using the process of elimination – which means putting all the chips on the table and shining a bright, white light on them. However, as you are alluding to, Terry, we should nevertheless be open and willing to keep our side of the street clean. We all have the right to seek our own road, but there is nothing like taking the high road regardless of our circumstances – that is the road to spiritual serenity.
So many things, including “working at a KH remodel,” are supposedly considered “privileges” and are therefore subject to being doled out at the discretion of the local constabulary (hierarchical low-downs; i.e., elders & COs).
