Congratulations! A JW will never understand how happiness can truly exist outside of the WT because they are scared to death of it.
My JW family as well refuses to acknowlege that I am happy although I can tell it bugs them. My life in worldly terms is better off than theirs then on top of it I have true joy now-- Live your Joy and God Bless!

Disfellowshipping: A protection in the end?
by Esmeralda inwell, the year is nearly out, and as the new one approaches i'm thinking back on 2 years of being in the online exjw community and, in june 2002, my four year anniversary of my df'ing.. when first i came to h2o seeking comfort and support in january 2000, i had been df'd for a year and a half and online nearly 4 years but never had the guts to type "jehovah's witnesses" into a search engine.
that search led me to freeminds (thanks, randy *hug*) and then, to h2o.. what a journey its been.
i've gone from devastation at losing my family, to anger, through the anger to numbness, back through sadness, and now after much soul searching and a chance change of circumstances last summer, come to look at my disfellowshipping in an entirely new light.. those who know my history know that i was born into the borg, baptized at 12, married at 19, and was a very loyal, unquestioning dub until the age of 24 when the elders told me that my miscarried babies had no status with god.

Observation- there are about 5 types of people here:
1--ExJW and bitter (many with good reason)
2--ExJw & Christian now (this is myself)
3--Exjw & has chosen some other spiritual path
4--Jw or ExJw seeking friends and info on Watchtower
5--JW trying to reconvert all of the above
We all write from our new (sometimes differing) perspectives and (most) of us respect eachothers perspective.
We've all shared common experiences as ex-jw's and are friends here.

ANy ideas on ridding of dubs?
by lydia inanyone have any good ideas on how to keep dubs from constantly returning??
they don't seem to leave the area alone with just requests and they are preying on those who live in a development that do not have the money to file a lawsuit.
help!

They can dish out their speaches but can't take a thinking answer- in my experience they are running before you can find the verse you are looking for :) They don't come to my house anymore :) -

A twisted Irony and a question ......
by flower ini know ya'll will probably get sick of seeing my name but i hope you understand why i am here so much.. anyway, one really ironic thing i was thinking about is that its amazing how much hate i had/have inside of me my whole life.
hate my father, my sister.
i have always been angry and hated people.

For me it was weird-- espeacially since my non-JW family are knid of messed up just as bad as my JW family. I apologized to everyone I called a lier and and talked about behind their back. I apologized for judging them and being mean when I have no authority to judge anyone. It stunned them to hear me admit I was wrong because I am a tad pridful in that area :) They accepted my apologies and now we are OK.
-- The still JW family I think was actually harder for me to work with. They felt 'betrayed' by me when I decided to become a Christian instead. This hurt them so bad they wouldn't talk to me for 6 years. They do now- very carefully but I just show them unconditional love and hope it will melt their frozen hearts and maybe show them the truth by the example of what God has done in my life since. What do some of you mean when you write you never personally asked to be free?
Do you like the idea of being puppets of God rather than free willed individuals better?
Isn't that one of the things most of us found appalling in the WT?
In fact- isn't that what we did ask for when we chose to leave the watchtower- to be free?
Freedom doesn't mean we get to decide what the truth will be,
it means we are free to make our own choice to follow it or not.
God doesn't want puppets- he wants people who honestly choose to love him for who he is.It's NOT like driving past a woman with a flat tire &
saying, oh well she wanted equal rights.
Why? because God does help us in the here and now with the mess people have made and even miracles happen today. There is an appointed time for All the pain, suffering and sin to be wiped out but it's not here yet and human sin made all these problems.And here's just a little something to think about:
How do you know God doesn't talk anymore--
He used to- why would he all the sudden stop?
As far as to what language he'd speak: I think God's smart enough to know every language and talk in any of them :) -

Not sure but can I just saw--GOOD!
It will be easier for a curious passerby or new recruit to see what they are being recruited for-- In my experiance they call themselve Christian witnesses a lot which is misleading to the public they are preaching at. And more accurate to what they are-- not a kingdom of the true Jehovah (Yahweh) for sure :)
