anew person-- thanks for the further elaboration--
Just a note that I do not attempt to condemn those who don't celebrate Christmas- it's not required but to share information to clear up allegations that it is pagan when it is clearly not-- although society has commercialized it. Thanks again!<><

scriptural intentional distortions
by tosko inhi all!.
can anyone point out clear and intentional distortions in jws translations and interpretations?
dishonesty in translation?

One topic that you may wish to visit is that they insert "Jehovah"
throughout the New Testament at their personal discretion even though it appears no where in the NT. They are not unilateral in this practice either-- they insert it where Kyrios or Theos is where ever they please--ie: where ever they want it to refer to the Father. They leave it out when it refers to Jesus. There is no rule for where they insert it 'cuz if there was Jesus would be Jehovah and they couldn't have that. Please e-mail me if you are interested in elaboration on this or any other things-- I have researched this topic and JWs extensively and have some resources I could point you to. Proving them dishonest and unscholarly is not hard, they take care of that themselves! You may also be interested to know they consulted a spirit medium for 'scholarly' advice in translation and that all JWs main doctrines are the exact same as what the satanic medium taught-- his 10 'Doctrines of Demons' he called them which is reference to the NT's warning against false teachers.
Have fun !

Is the bible really inspired ??
by master chief inhere i go again!!!!
!think about it what makes an actor, popstar, author, etc popular, them or its believers i mean cmon anything sells today even if its crap, people go on and on about the bible being inspired and beneficial for teaching but are other self help books inspired or are counselers or therapists inspired so back to the question is the bible inspired by god or mans imagination?
-

I believe in fact only- and fact and proof show that yes, the Bible is inspired by God. I don't take that statement lightly-- There is so much proof for it that there is no room on here to go through it all. There is not any errors in the Bible as some accuse- the sad thing being that most of the people that claim that have not even read it (I mean it as in the whole thing or most of it not just a few passages). There is no othe historical document to date that has lasted unchanged, scientificly supported and archeologicly proven since its original writting. I won't go into details cuz no one asked to hear them but I have some great books on the topic that are very researched and easy reading that I can mail (free :) ) to anyone that wants to read up on it. Have fun <>< Angie

Really, pomagranate?
Have you ever read Isaiah 10:20-21?
There Jehovah/Yahweh is very clearly called the same thing-
"MIGHTY GOD" -- does that mean Jehovah- the Father is lesser than Almighty? no! Why would Isaiah 'downgrade' Jehovah to 'mighty' if he is the Almighty? Why? Because Almighty is Shaddai in hebrew and Mighty is Gibor in hebrew. The words have nothing to do with eachother- Shaddai is not a higher or greater form of the word Gibor in any way. In english the argument for Almighty verses Mighty seems logical but it does not match the Hebrew concepts. That is just our way of translating it into english and has no reference at all that the two aren't equal.
Also, Jesus is called ALMIGHTY in numerous places for example in Revelations 1:8-- which I understand that current JWs now believe is 'Jehovah' but Charles Taze Russel in his Studies in the Scriptures teaches correctly and very clearly that Rev.1:8 is Jesus. (Incidentally, 'Jehovah' does not appear in the NT at all, the WT inserted it. If the WT was unilateral in how they inserted it -- Jesus and the Holy Spirit are called Jehovah numerous times. Jesus is also called 'THE GOD' which is a contradiction to the idea of 'a god' earlier in John. In the OT and NT all three of the trinity are called Jehovah/Yahweh. :))
Just a little food for your thoughts:
Read 1 Peter 2:4-8 with Isa.8:13-14 says in 1 Peter that JESUS is the stone but ISAIAH says it is Jehovah. -

The Trinity: to believe or not to believe?
by speechless inthis question applies to those exjws who are at peace with god:.
do you now believe in the trinity?.
for myself, it took awhile for me to accept the trinity doctrine, but i finally came to believe!.
-
Adonai438
I am an ex-witness who is now a christian and the trinity was one of the biggies for me when I was starting to question the society. The WT misrepresented it so much and called it names that I wasn't sure what to do. I studied the Bible and found that basicly the whole thing taught the idea of the trinity and so I accepted God's truth.
You are right We are made in Gods image and I see that in the fact that we humans have 3 parts- Body, Soul, and Spirit. The Bible teaches that these are all distinct and separate parts of a person and make up one person together. Not that God has 3 'parts' to make one God but it is a picture of his nature. Notice Genesis 11:26*27 where he says (to someone!) LETS US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE IN OUR LIKENESS......GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE.....
Nice to meet ya <>< ANGIE

Why Not Reject 1st Century Org. as God's ?
by Explorer into all those offended by the wt's behavior :.
one of the biggest cause of confusion among loyal ones to the wt org.
today, and those dissenting, is the very concept of what to expect from jehovah's organization on earth.

Dear Explorer
Hi!
You have made one little mistake here. Not everyone leaves the WT because of things humans did to hurt them or sin they observed. Some did but many do not. Many I know -more than I can count!-- left because scripturally the JWs are unfounded. I don't arbitrarily say who is and isn't christian based on how much they sin. But according to the Bible there is one truth and one truth only. One WAY, One TRUTH, One LIFE. I am saying that a true christian (or christian denom/church) must follow the essential truth. Christian liberty allows us to have differing oppinions on small issues (like what kind of music to worship to) but the big stuff (like who God is) essential to whether you are a true Christian. I (and God would rule out JWS not because they sin but because their doctrine is not scriptural and they do not follow what the Bible says. Please do not generalize ex-JWs as leaving for petty reasons or human influances because some of us left because we read the Bible and found JWs religion is one of the 'other gospels' we are warned to reject.I really do care about all JWs and hope and pray for them daily and do what I can to show them the true Yahweh of the Bible. So, if you care, feel free to e-mail me. <>< Angie
