  High Unemployment Among Apostates

  Whatever the case, as a whole it is still too high.

  How do you know all "apostates" post on the net and read your posts? I didn't read your thread asking about employment. I work two jobs. See, here is one person you didn't count. Maybe the more accurate thing to say is that message boards in general tend to attract people who are disabled, or unemployed, or lonely, or bored, or unhappily married, or single and lonely, or students or people have too much free time on thier hands, etc. etc and so on and so on? Then there are people who work but post on boards for a hobby or to find support or to give support.

  There are people who are "apostates" who don't even own computers much less post on the net. There are likely many who are members here who are too busy to post very often. This is just amusing, your little employment study.

  It's true. Deep down on some level they must know it's not true. But even if they don't, they are envious of us because we do not have to keep up the JW scedule. We have so much more freedom. It just burns them up.

  cosmetic surgery!!!

  all these shows lately on telly - like nip/tuck etc.

  highlighting cosmetic surgery got me to thinking of about 20 odd years ago as a dub..how prevalent cs was.

  i knew two young women (aged about 17 / 18) who had breast reduction operations in the same cong, of course it was very `hush, hush` at the time but considering it was a small country cong - that seems like a rather high ratio of non-necessary surgery to me........any other experiences of this?

  it's Perfect Boobs on an IMperfect body.

  Uh, have you looked at most of those boob jobs? They never look perfect. They look rubbery, shiny and fake.

  Full lips look good one women when they are natural and they are the lips she came with. Otherwise they do looked swollen as if they were stung by a bee or something.

  I don't think any woman or girl would go through breast reduction because of a fad. When you do it you take a serious risk of your nipples losing sensitivity permanently and at the worst dying and falling off. In a world where men make a$$es of themselves over large breasts, how could anyone think this a fad?

  Stomach stapling? You have to be at least 100 lbs over weight, nearly double your ideal bodyweight to have this surgery. You have to have tried diets and other options. This is serious surgery and doctors don't perform it for the person with a few annoying extra pounds to lose. I have a friend who has had it done and her hair is falling out like a chemo patient's.

  What I find silly is the latest rage of having lips made fat. It's the ugliest and most obvious fad. I was reading Andy's new Rollingstone Mag. issue last night when I noticed Courtney Love has jumped on the band wagon with Cher and many others getting fat lips. I suppose they all want to look like Angelina Jole. I think hers may be natural and they still look a little weird, though she is very pretty. What the heck is wrong with normal lips? If men thought it sexy for women to have their legs amputated do you think women would finally see the light and draw the line?But then men have plastic surgery, too.

  i know that everyone who is a member of this site has heard the same sob story a million times but, this hopefully can help my healling process.

  i have like most everyone else in this site have lost all that i had for friends and family.

  i never had realized how tough it was for anyone to have this happen.

  Welcome to the board by the way. Heck, you leave behind all those on the sinking JW ship, but you find all of us sisters and brothers rowing to shore. We'll help you into the life boat. We'll help you to shore. And we'll still be your brothers and sisters. We have unconditional love for you. We don't care if you are a deliberate "sinner". We are all deliberate "sinners", too.

  Infidelity amongst JWs

  does there seem to be a higher incidence of infidelity amongst the jws?.

  my brother, who is an active jw and ministerial servant, has an elder friend who was recently disfellowshipped for having an affair with another sister in the hall.

  it turns out this sister was divorced a few years earlier from a "worldly" man who had an affair on her.

  Men who make the rules. MEN who wanted such. I look on and laugh even harder at your statement when reading about women who at this moment in time are being stoned by men for not remaining monogamous.

  Wow, very good and very valid points. I am blown away. I feel like searching for my I Am Woman by Helen Reddy MP3 and playing it loudly and over and over again.

  Besides, what woman would be smug about having to force her man not to cheat on her, having him under her thumb so to speak, as in Czar's comment?

  If you want to *#%@ around on a woman or man then why not scout for your next mate at a swinger's convention? They have them, you know? Otherwise don't whine when someone falls in love with you and expects you to be exclusive. Yes, there are clubs for people who have no qualms about sex with multiple partners. Join one and stop brooding.

  Again, Cassiline, very pointed and very true. I only hope certain posters read what you said and really think about it. Because your comments are the TRUTH. Czar's logic sounds like it's borrowed from a college course on human sexuality that was heavily peppered with the twisted rantings of some horny, misogynistic, bitter, middleaged, male professor whose wife won't let him play around. Either that or Hugh Hefner trying to justify 50 years of exploiting men and women.

  Staying True to your Convictions . . .

  as long as its done with a loving heart.. i was washing the dishes this afternoon when the thought occurred to me.

  maybe it was because what james thomas had said to doodlev about her brother staying true to his beliefs.

  all religions claim to have the only truth, whether its the jews, catholics, mormons, jws, crc, etc, etc.

  Love is the greatest commandment, right? Who has greater love for us than the one who put us here? He knows we are put here under varying circumstances, some a lot worse than others, and he knows we have all kinds of conflicting religious "truths" thrown at us through out our lives. He knows we are understandably confused about what the truth is. He especially understands this after we have been hurt by religion. He loves us. And according to the scripture I mentioned in my PM, love never fails. Look for places you can do good and show love. I think this is what he wants. He wants us to help each other more than we hurt each other. So find a place where people are doing good and helping each other. Trust that the one who put us here loves us and that his love will never fail.

  For some reason we all have to endure the pain and sadness in this life. We will all take great lessons with us when go. Hopefully we love while we're here and we help make someone else's load easier to bear because of our expression of this love.

  .......i just noticed your post........can't say i blame you for thinking that.

  i mentioned i'm currently an elder and don't plan on leaving the organization...........but i probably won't be an elder much longer......as i'm not exactly the "ball of fire" they want.

  I don't think you are a hypocrite. I think it takes a lot of guts to read here and then even more to post, when still inside the org. You are in an awakening process and I thank you for having the courage to come here and post. It has helped me for one to read your story and thoughts.

  Your progress is not static. You already realize your days as an elder are numbered because you cannot throw yourself into ideas you don't support or believe in.

  Please DO NOT stop coming here, reading and posting. It does a lot of us good to see someone like you waking up and hearing your thoughts on the matter. Thank you, thank you for your posts. Besides, I don't know anyone who isn't some percentage a hypocrite. Like Brummie says, it's highly underated.

  Hang in there in your determination not to give those damaging "Do more talks." I sent you a PM. I hope the info in it will prove helpful to you.

  those of you know know me have probably noticed.

  and this is in part due to my health problems and how they are affecting me.. i got those $400 orthotics to put in my shoes.
