i've been reading threads on this site like crazy and obtained a copy of coc from the library yesterday.
i stayed up until 4am reading it, and i'm impressed with the way it was written - its just like reading a w only the subject matter is a little different hehe.. i'll break myself in gently with this site over time but basically a few things about me are: born in a jw family, baptized as a young teen, 1 yr aux pio, several yrs as reg pio, 1 year as 'special' full time pio at bethel.

as a father; will i ever think it is an appropriate age for my daughter to date?
i have a very pretty 12 year old girl.
besides excelling at classical ballet, she is a high honor roll student academically and she is a very good , sweet, child.
I think that you and your best friends should sit in the living room with you cleaning up a shot gun,
I have one daughter. When she starts dating, I will be cleaning the gun, with the 5 boys standing behind me. Four are older than her, but Jon is only 3 yrs behind her. So when she is 16, and he is 13, I don't think he will be too small.<eg> I feel kinda sorry for any boy who comes calling on my little girl.
a bunch of people at work were talking and it was amazing who some of them knew (or had a connection to...).
so, do you have a claim to fame?
mooch off an association?
In 1992 I was in a TV commercial. I was going back to school for automotive repair. The school used me because I was I chose a field that was not common for women. At the local watering hole, I got free drinks from the owner because I was on TV.
are you 100% sure you're doing the right thing??
?
I am. I mean, I have found many wrong things, but the fighting in my family, sometimes I wish I never knew. Ignorance is bliss as they say. If I never looked deep, or my one brother, or my sister, we would be a happy together family. I wish we all left together. I mean, I am glad we left, and have learned to question, but I miss our family getting along.
Hope I made sense here.
.
seriously, they masquerade as angels of light, with their dark chocolate minty taste (my personal satan being the thin mint ones) but in reality they are little fiendish wafers of fat and carbohydrates waiting to attack the weak defences of your tastebuds so they can defile the temple of your flesh.
i think i need an exorcism....or another box of cookies *sigh*
I love Girl Scout Cookies, they are yummy for the tummy. One problem though, they don't give you as many as they use to
I have to admit, I was a bit po'ed when I opened a box and there were not enough for us to get two cookies each. There are 14 cookies for $3.50. So I had to buy a second box just so I could have some.
i was wondering...what un-written rules have y'all come across ?
the rules that have gotten you or others in trouble?
including all the "grey rules," that are open to interpretation by indubviduals and committee's.
Yes Rabbit, I do feel the love. My Mom keeps saying, as long as they are alive, there is hope. The witnesses are right no matter what. She loves God more than us, and she tells us that. He gave us life, and we need to love him too. She worries about all of us kids and her grandkids. I was the last to leave.
I forgot about the two door car thing. I remember buying my 1976 Potnitac Grand Prix. It was only $300 and it was all I could afford. Anyway, long story. Thanks for the remind.
"the bible is the inspired word of god.
"holy spirit came upon men who then wrote the various books that make up the bible.
what was the criteria for determining if a given piece of writing, such as the books matthew, mark, luke, john and acts, or letters, such as the ones written by paul, were inspired?
Narkissos,
Thank you very much for your reply. I never knew any of that. It is appreciated. :-)

For what was actually allowed into the Bible of today it was left to the Catholic church. They decided what was to become the Bible we know today.
I have a question here. Why does my Catholic Bible have books that is not in other bibles?
"happy are those concious of their spiritual need?
" do you still have a desire for spiritual things?

Yes I do, but I feel like I am just spinning my own wheels.

The serious, the funny and the seriously stupid...!
I am going to talk about my brother. He used to do the microphones, his suit started looking worn. We were a large family and there was only money for one suit/dress per child. It wasn't in the budget for a new one, so he lost his privileges. I mean, there were no holes or anything, it just wasn't new looking.
Then same brother married a girl who was not in the "truth." When others from our old cong. see him, they literally turn their back on him. Of course he taps them on the shoulder says hi, and walks away laughing. (wish I had his guts)
My one sister was never baptized, but she married out of the "truth" also. The used to tell my mom, well you have other children.
My son could not do the mikes because he wanted to grow his facial hair, and I let him. He's 14, and we are talking fine blond hair. He wanted it, and I saw no harm in it. There is no scripture why he cannot have his facial hair. This was what started me doing research into teachings. My son is the oldest of 6, and I am a single mom. He feels all grown up, even though we all know he isn't. But he wanted his hair. I wished he never showed it off, Always saying, come look at this, and point out his face covered in fine blond hair. They wouldn't even call on him to comment. argggg, he's just a boy, and I am a bad mom because I did not force it off his face.
