Where were you on the a.m. of 9/11/01?

i was at work -- a manager in a hospital that is the regional treatment center for one medical specialty...region includes nyc.

someone came & grabbed me hard by the arm and pulled me into a room, where i saw every single mgr.

I was at home, and my brother called me and told me to turn on the TV. A plane has just hit the one tower as I turned on the TV, I was watching it unfold. Saw the second plane hit. I just held my two youngest and cried. Heard about the plane hiting the Pentagon, and then a plane down in PA. Glued to the tube all day.

i have been out of the witness religion since the 1990's and i see from reading former witness sites that it is common for people to do something i used to do.

which was that i made a big deal out of all the wrong things the witnesses did and do.

i thought it was some how my responsiblity to tell others when i had the chance, and even when i made the chance, about all the things i knew.

You are right, they aren't the only ones who are wrong. What I think makes them worse, is that they leave lasting scars for what they teach. The tear families apart, people die for what they teach, the emotional and spiritual black mail is beyond words. They do all this, while proclaiming to be better than everyone else. We know that we may never find any religion that is total truth, but when they cost innocents, that's where I find major fault.

The Wedding Saga...Episode 2

how cruel can these people be??.

1) my dad informs me this spring that my sister is getting married.. 2) i am of course not informed of the actual date incase i decide to show up.

3) i am sent a wedding invitation after the wedding has taken place along with a little letter from mom and dad.. 4) i get an e-mail from my mom with the link to the website of wedding photos and gushing dub comments.... "what a lovely family" blah blah blah.

I am sorry. It has nothing to do with what choices you have made, or will make. It was her choice not to invite you. Her choice to try and hurt you to get you to come back to the borg.

Vaginal Birth or Cesarean Section

to all the mommy's out there...did you deliver vaginally or by c-section?.

i was fortunate enough to deliver both my children vaginally although i came close to a c-section with my son.

he was in the posterier position.

My first two were c-sections. Told me I could not deliver vaginally after the first one. Then #3 came so fast, I delived in the doorway, on the strecher, in the ER. So she was a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) As were the rest. So that is 2 sections and 5 VBACs.

I saw everyone list birth weights, so here it goes.

#1 boy 6 weeks early 4 lb 13 oz

#2 boy 6 lb 10 oz (and was born 6/11)

#3 girl 7 lb 15 oz

#4 boy 8 lb 7 oz

#5 boy 8 lb 1oz

#6 girl 8 lb

#7 boy He came a month early too. He was 5 lb 1 oz

An Elder Called Me Tonight

i couldn't have been more surprised!.

i've been dfed for 10+ years.

5 years ago they asked if they could stop by and talk with me sometime; i gave them my phone # and said "call first to make sure i'm home" and.....5 years later they do !

And why does the word "Christ" seem to make JWs so jumpy?

I just don't know, but it makes me think of last Sunday. We started to attend a church locally, and my children learned a new song. So they sang it for their grandmom. It was, Jesus loves me, this I know, because the bible tells me so.

They started their song, and my mom looks at them, and starts singing, Jehovah is our refuge. (sorry if I get that song stuck in your head)

All of my kids looked at her, and walked away. While they know grandmom isn't really all there, they could not believe she would try to over sing a five and seven year old. My teens asked me, wasn't that kind of immature, even for grandmom. I said, yes it is, but we forgive her.

Can JWs donate to the Red Cross?

i do remember that as a jw, i was not allowed to donate to the salvation army because technically it is a church, but i don't remember anything about the red cross.. if jws are not allowed to do so, why not?

as far as i know, the red cross is not a faith-based organization.. marianne
