I have to finish walking on my left foot. If I stop on my right, I either take a small step, or go back, and walk over again.
When I make cookies, I have to make an odd amount. Can't finish them up with an even amount of cookies.
(doesn't make sense to me. I'm right handed, and every number in my birthdate is even. 12/30/?0.)

Funerals are for the living. If going would bring no comfort to you, or your wife, then why go? If you wish to say goodbye, do it after the fact. I found that going to the grave afterwards, you are able to talk to them better. My mother had an elder come to the funeral home for my dad's funeral. I stayed at home with the children. (long story, but briefly, I don't go to funerals, I always go to the site afterwards.)
Hope this is some help.

This was a place I was told I would be loved and was treated not with love but criticism. As time went on the criticism got worse.
I can so relate to this.Just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

do you resent your parents for bringing you into the WTS?
by kid-A infor those born into the wts, do you ever feel resentment towards your folks for forcing this upon you?
i went through a stage of strong resentment and anger, but no longer feel this way.
i think they sincerely believed they were acting in my best interests.

Eh, I have mixed feelings. I resent having to choose between mom and dad. Mom converted, and dad didn't. When she left the catholic church, it deflated dad. He left the Knights of Columbus, he stopped christmas, he stopped caring. I am angry with myself for choosing mom over him.I'm more angry at myself for not getting out until he died. I wish I never took my children to the kh. I wish I knew then what I know now. Come to think about it, it's not mom I have resentment towards, it's the society. Someone posted earlier, about if their parents were intelligent it would be different. Not that my mom is not smart, but she is simple at times. Believes this is what god wants from her. It tore our family apart, to this day it has lasting effects. So I changed my mind from mixed, to no, I don't resent mom.
Hope my ramblings came across ok.

My mom's being told to shun me.
by GetBusyLiving inthose goofy bastards are up to their old tricks again.
some background: i disassociated a year ago and explained why i was leaving to my mom, who agreed with me and told me that she's been thinking of leaving the dubs for nearly ten years.

I'm so happy for you. You have a wonderful Mom, and I bet there are quite a few of us who are jealous. (in a good way)

Example of lying and deception in What does the Bible really teach
by yesidid inso theyve done it again.
once more the wbts tries to give the impression that they,or at least russell and his followers believed in the late 19th century that christ would return in 1914. .
of course we know that until the mid 1920s at least they believed and taught that jesus .

I so understand, but have no ideas for you. I'm going thru something with my 8 yo daughter. I did forbid her from going to the kh with her grandmom. My daughter cried, and said, Jehovah will kill me if I don't go. I asked her where in the bible it says, only JW will inherit the world? It says the meek. She still wants to go to make granny happy, but is ok with not going. As long as god's happy, she ok.
When I left at 18, I should have stayed gone. I went back to "save" my children.
