i can't understand why the rank and file can't see who is really causing the pain by seperating loved ones over personal beliefs.. one woman says about her disfellowshipped brother, "this has been so hard for me to bear because in every other respect, he has been a wonderful brother to me.
i especially miss him at large gatherings.".
I remember trying to reason with my mother over this. Leave Jehovah? No, I left an organization. I did not make god cry by no longer going to the meetings, I did not turn my back on him. I told her Jehovah is god, the org is not god. She said, my religion is my god. They are the same thing. They are the earthy reps of him. They are his voice piece, his spirt led org. She'll be in forever.

It must be true. My 16 and 15 yo sons were skateboarding at the school one Sunday. We had police at our door the next day. It is against the law to skateboard, skate, or bike at the school. They now have community service out of this. Had we of stayed in, my sons would be law abiding children. I took them out, and now see how they are. They are criminals.
(yes, their grandmom said this to me. I am now a bad mother, because they no longer have a bible trained upbringing)

If you read 2 Samuel chapters 11 and 12, you can read the whole thing. It was David's punishment. Which sometimes really makes me angry. His wives were shammed, his son killed, because of his sin. Other's paid for him.

i used to let the jehovah's witness in week to week!
i used to enjoy my studies and take it all in,they used to be there hours talking to me, they was wanting me to go to the kingdom hall i was not ready to make that step, but was very close to giving my life to jehovah's witness!then one night i decided to go out for a few drinks with my friends.
and tragically on my way home i was attacked and raped.

When my #3 and #5 son are on the football field, and loving every minute of it.

i realize that threads like this have been done before, but i don't think that it hurts to do one again.. i personally appreciate this website so much.

Family affection is sorely lacking in many households. Indeed, "evidence suggests that people are more likely to be killed, physically assaulted, or emotionally or sexually abused by other family members than by anyone else,
I have seen this more with family members who are/were in "the truth" than any where else. I remember my mother telling my children that they make god cry because they go to a church. I have had my brother look down on me and speak cruely because I left. I have known too many woman belittled by their spouse for "not doing enough in the truth". A good friend of mine used to be beat by her elder husband, yet he never had to step down, even though everyone knew it was going on in their house.
I know tomorrow morning many will be looking out at other religions because they say, that's how they are. Yet, it is happening in their very own congragation, their very own home, even from their own lips/hands.
