  who has been out the longest?

  who has been out of the cult the longest ?.

  i'll start--i resigned in 1971, but attended occasionally as a non-interested husband to keep the wife sweet, untill my last circuit assembly in autumn 1980. no connection with the cult since then.

  so--its either 47 or 38 years, depending on how you see it.. which begs the question--why am i on this site now ?.

  Do Witnesses Experience Racial Discrimination To Your Knowledge?

  my experience in the kingdom hall was that racial discrimination and profiling was not typically practiced....that i know of.

  i was in a diverse city with every type of skin color and nationality imaginable.. i’m wondering if the witnesses have changed due to the current affairs exposed by the media everyday.

  are there discrimination issues in jw land??

  Dunno. In 18 years of being a JW, I never encountered a black person in any congregation that I attended. One Asian gentlemen and his family, that was all.

  Even if the elders have no legal duty to report an accusation to the authorities, the branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses will instruct the elders to report the matter if a minor is still in danger of abuse or there is some other valid reason.

  So basically it should only be reported if there is a danger of the child being molested again. Don't bother if it's just a one-off. Or there's been lots of occasions but it's not expected to happen again. Bastards.

  JW stance on blood transfusions for animals?

  our dog needed some serius surgery recently & my wife (still in) was very concerned that if he needed a blood transfusion she thought this would constitute a misuse of blood.

  i was stunned as never heard of this.. is this a thing?

  i left 12 years ago & wondered if it's always been or introduced in the years after my leaving.. any info would be great.. phats.

  Years ago, I finished up living next door to JW's. They knew all about me and called to tell me that as I was disfellowshipped, they wouldn't be speaking to me. Oh OK then... So I asked them what it was that I was DF'd for? They said that they didn't know. So then I asked them if they were happy to shun someone even when they didn't know why they had to be shunned? Exit JW's in confusion..

  Are You Proud of Your Country?

  some people are of the opinion that it doesn't make any sense to be proud of one's nationality because we had nothing to do with where we were born.

  the decision wasn't ours.

  they opine that it's ludicrous to be proud of our countries' prior achievements if we had no part in those achievements because we weren't even around then.

  I guess there are some things that I admire about my own country as opposed to feeling "proud".

  I admire our going it alone in 1939 at the out break of WW2.

  I was around in 1966 when we finally realised that no government should have the legal right to kill it's own citizens and did away with capital punishment.

  I watched the fleet sail out to the Falklands in 1982. That was quite something.

  So yes, I do consider myself fortunate to have been born here. But not proud.
