if jw's were overly zealous, what was the exact amount of zeal encouraged by the wts for a non-event which took up.

Similarity between Jesus and Jehovahs Witnesses

there are numerous similarities between jesus and jehovahs witnesses.

to mention a few:.

1) both suspected they are anointed by god and started preaching work.. 2) both had some ambiguous references (which can be interpreted to suit any conclusion one likes to have) from the scriptures.. 3) friends and family members of both generally believed they were insane (mark 3:21), and religious experts attributed power of satan to the work being accomplished by both (mark 3:22).

Dissimilarity:

Jesus admitted in the end that He acted on his own when he prayed “My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me” (Mark 15:34) something JWs will NEVER do and cannot do! Jesus should have stuck to the original truth he declared:

a) that each one will reap what he sows (Mathew 7:17; 12:33-37)

b) that using a channel is not God’s style (Mathew 5:44-48)

1. j. f. rutherford, preparation, watch tower bible & tract society, 1933, page 64, 67, "enlightenment proceeds from jehovah by and through christ jesus and is given to the faithful anointed on earth at the temple, and brings great peace and consolation to them.

“Although asserting they were wise, they became foolish.” (Romans 1:22) They do not have the Key to understanding as given in Daniel 12:10. Over 140 major changes they made in their teachings show that they did not act “with insight” and that they are not representing the God who “never changes” (James 1:17)

I have no fear of death. I take the hint from sleep. When I go to sleep, I die figuratively—in deep sleep it’s like nothing exists. But I get up in the morning renewed (in new body as millions of old cells being replaced with new ones).

Will this awaken the sleeping giant (also called body of men) among JWs? Will any of them ever ask: “Why deny equal rights and opportunities to half our population under the garb of ancient Bible or tradition? Aren't we all born of both mother and father? And doesn't each of us have both the masculine and feminine aspects in us? Isn’t denying a part of us, clearly, to deny our totality?

Though UN announced this six months ago, The Watchtower and Awake! have chosen not to see it in contrast to the lightening speed with which JWs gave publicity to UN’s declaring of 1986 as “the Year for International Peace,” dedicating even a book for it! Yet, not a passing comment appeared so far even in their “Watching the World” page! How true is the saying “people see what they are prepared to see!”

GB Doesnt Believe in 1914 Anymore My reasoning

i have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.

this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.

there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.

118 reveals some maturity, yet it leaves it as future goal with no definite plan.

Actually, this subject is not at all complicated. Beneath the details living-in-relationship is living without responsibility (union of two selfishness makes a big selfishness). They cannot be helped as they have CHOSEN a course they feel easy and convenient. They just need to be left to themselves as the world is filled with experiences of consequences of selfishness!

Homosexuality too is not a very complicated issue. It just need to be treated like any other diseases. The ancient people had no difficulty in dealing with sexual abuse! They knew animals were using sex for only its intended purpose and never abusing their sex lives, hence any man who tries to teach animals abnormal sex, he was simply put to death. (Exodus 22:19) When people stopped capital punishment for sexual abuse (because of the gradual identity-crisis religions have been undergoing), nature has not stopped it--capital punishment still lingers around in some way or other!

Four Levels of Shunning

remember: the word shun means to avoid, especially persistently.. level 1. official watchtower policy makes extreme shunning mandatory for those disfellowshipped or disassociated.

there are, of course, two loopholes:.

(1) one is not shunned if living in the same household...but this works as long as one is not kicked out of their own home (like raypublisher was) or if the jw decide to leave as a consequence.. (2) one may do necessary family business..but this is open to interpretation and obviously relations are very uncomfortable and strained.. but for those two loopholes, a jw may not speak to the person shunned, not even to say hello.

This comes as no surprise to those who know the prophecy of St. Malachi, the Irish saint, who was also the Bishop of Armagh (12 th C). In a trance he prophesied, standing in front of Vatican, about the number of Popes from his time to the end of the world, and according to him there would be only one more pope after Benedict, and during his reign comes the end of the world. Could Pope Francis be the last? It seems he and his bishops have the fire-powder to invite the end of the world! [Interestingly, he prophesied the name of the last Pope as Peter--Pope Francis's name in his baptismal church is given as Peter]

Church’s shift is obviously prompted by the increasing members who are becoming gay. This is like going the way the horse goes when it does not go the way it is driven! Is the Church turning into “the disgusting thing” foretold in Mark 13:14 that is spoken as would precede the end of the world? (which obviously cannot be UN, as JWs claim)

since the jehovah's witnesses believe we have no indwelling immortal spirit, are we like robots programmed with a special code called "free will"??

since robots have no indwelling immortal spirit, they can be programmed to do whatever man wants them to.
