bethel life reinforced that, middle aged ego's trying to suck up to brooklyn.

ray franz book was a final nail for me, because he described the same incompetence along with the same ego's.

Post Script - I turned my life over to these 'shephards' having been sold 'we are different' to other religions - if we are in the final part of the days, one would hope for people to be able to say ' God is truly amongst you people'.

Forgive me, but in the end, I simply couldn't coerce other humans to follow these earthly leaders who do not give me a sense of security and well being in their pastoral care....I can handle imperfect individual traits, but not collective deception, arrogance and lack of care for the conscience of their flock...

To follow these self acclaimed brothers of Christ - I must carry the load of their deceptive tricks and ultimately be like them - no thanks. Really, no thanks.

Am I much happier not being with the 'close association of brothers' ? Not yet - I'm grieving and having struggles with the hurt.

Hurt that is the result of losing over 25 years of my ordered life - it wasn't all bad - at all!

But, we cannot live a lie.

There were countless uncomfortable moments for me which led to the final realisation that I couldn't 'do' this anymore - and one outstanding stomach churning, panic inducing moment was when I laid eyes on that illustration depicting Jehovah's organisation - the GB sitting around a boardroom table seated in deluxe Pullman directors chairs - down to the hard stack chairs of elders....and so on ( and the message of 'down to' was miserably clear by the descending quality of furniture)

The dreadful TV broadcasts and now, the Royal Commission - no sign of earnest and open concern regarding true collaboration to resolve internal issues, just bumbling evasive answers and a foolishly arrogant and defensive stance.

Yes OP, the position of the RC is to bring a compliant set of standards into the handling of child abuse investigations within religious institutions - the GB has totally missed the point.

Humilty? Ha!

Ashamed to have been a JW - re Joe Bello's statement that he had said 'why would you want to drag Jehovah's name through the mud?' - he said he was just thinking aloud.......

Bullshit - we ALL know this phrase and can well imagine it being said....

Royal Commission - these men are prepared to lie for their 'God of Truth' like no other......

How arrogant not to care enough to find out what the Royal Commission is all about - so little care for the victims....yet 'Joe' a qualified 'shephard' has no idea.....because ...Joe Bello is a victim himself - and is representative of many 'qualified men' in the organisation - please, slam the organisation hard - please.

that being said.... my boyfriend is watching pornography, and it seriously hurts my feelings.

You are doing "life" with a difficult and possibly dangerous person who will have a big effect in your life, your potential and growth.

In some ways, it can grow you - and in other ways it could inhibit and destroy all that you can be.

But, NO - you are not stupid.

The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me

due to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.

just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.

the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.

I always knew that there are "worldly" people who have much decency and goodness in abundance - but of course " Oh they don't love Jehovah."

Well, we all know the stink of the branding JW style that apparently represents Christ.

I sense something extraordinary happened, so I have faith in the appearance of Jesus on this earth - and a divine element that forms the ABC of that faith.

Glad to be a member of the human race and seeing the lovely qualities in folk, and embracing that.

i'm writing this here because i need someone to talk to, and you're the only folks i know who will understand.

most of the time i think i'm a pretty happy and together person, but lately, i'll see something that reminds me of my family and i'll spontaneously start crying.

i miss them so much and my heart keeps breaking, and even though i have kind people i work and volunteer with, i feel so incredibly lonely sometimes.

Look at your courage and wonderful hope to make a difference.

Your loss of family and friends is NOT your choice - it is theirs.

Sadly, THEY endorse lies, cheating and emotional blackmail - probably without realising it?

Keep true.

In just a short while, my life had changed so much, so much from when I felt very broken.

I love that proverb which may be from Persian culture:

"this too will pass"

It can be applied to every single second of our lives - the wonderfully exquisite, the good, bad and ugly.

THIS video clip tells it all.The religion of Jehovahs Witnesses endorses and cultivates dishonest manipulation and coercion in families.This fits in with the experience of "Robert" which was repeated in two watchtower articles - he admitted that his family's strict observance of having nothing to do with him was the key in bringing him back.TWICE that story was repeated in consecutive years. I LOVE the writing department and he GB for being so transparent about their filthy tactics.How bizarre they don't see it, don't see how utterly wrong it is. It's disgusting things like this that make me so glad that I removed myself from the influence of such "association".Having said that - I had no family to lose.......what an utterly miserable mess to be under the control of men who are clearly unbalanced and proud to enforce a culture of blackmail.

he served in the south pacific.

he loved his time in the military and my mother was more than supporting.

Isn't it funny?

This place where "logic" for some says that there cannot be anything more than what we know, experience etc.

Yet, for me - logic adds up to something quite different.

I see history as giving us hints ( no matter how poor the detail) - the story of Jesus, the story of men (Buddha eg) who delivered something that was not just about eating, shitting, procreating with no purpose but to survive physically.

Something major is going on it seems to me.

Is that spirituality?
