How many members on here in total, & q about pre-1975 jws
by gypsywildone ina long story condensed in order to keep private things private, but first of all, how many active members are on here now?
second of all, were the pre-1975 jws less hard core, would you say?
is that around the time they "stepped it up"?

HDTV Finally hooked up today!!! :D
by Elsewhere inafter waiting about two weeks for comcast cable to come out and hook up my cable, i'm up and going!
at first i was very disappointed with the picture because it looked just like a regular tv signal, but after playing around with the cables and some configurations on the box i got the system into true hd mode.
because he could not get the component jack to produce a signal, he hooked my hd box to the old rf jack... basically forcing the signal to automatically downgrade to regular cable.

Would you attend your own DF'ing/DA announcement?
by unbeliever inmy friend was summoned to a jc.
she did not go and pretty much told the elders to kiss her ass.
she wants to attend the announcement which is tonight.

Work In Progress
by MerryMagdalene ini just stumbled over upon an article in the 1 august 2001 watchtower magazine that was just too good to pass up.
i want to use it as the basis for opening up a discussion with my jw mother on the importance of questioning what you believe as well as the right and responsibility each of us has to do so (even jws).
this magazine appears to be giving "permission" as well as strong encouragement to do just this.

the liberals who from time to time slip something like this in, and the hardliners who can be counted on to come along in a few months and contradict these teachings with an article that takes the opposite approach.
I agree with you.I think there are two different camps...the liberals and the brain dead..
I think the liberals like to tease every one now and again by articles that really highlight the problems at the WT but are done in such a way that all "LOYAL DUBS" believe are pointed at all other religions.
If this is true the SHIT has got to hit the fan soon.Another purge of the "1980"s coming up soon...HOPE SO...

Perhaps, if anything of an "impure" nature was done by him with your daughter she should help him get "spiritual counsel" at the Hall by writing a letter and spilling the beans. After all, she wouldn't want him to die at Armageddon would she? :)
This sounds right but after all nothing could be done unless there were at least two witnesses to the event.We wouldn't want to run ahead of the things written would we????

Someone stole my notebook computer!!! :S
by Elsewhere intoday at work i went to get a notebook computer that i had stored in a filing drawer and it was gone!
just this monday another guy in our office noticed that his personal optical mouse that he brought up to work was missing, but didn't make much of a fuss of it.
damnit, this is frustrating.

I would LOVE to if it came to that. I would make sure I came nice and early and talk to as many old "friends" as possible. After all until it is announced it is a secret from the congregation,isn't it???
Next I would try to sit close to the front and if there were any parts that called for comments from the floor be sure to put my hand up.
I would sing all the songs with vigour and try not to be off key.
When the announcement was made try hard not to have a silly grin come over my face
Lastly try to engage in conversation the same old "friends" after the meeting that I had talked to before the meeting.
Start to laugh as they flee from this now evil POZTATE
