I don't get this discussion any longer, dear Sab. You haven't responded to my questions; however, I have addressed all that you've propounded. I will say ONE thing regarding the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies... since somehow you seem to not only be misunderstanding me but Him, as well: He doesn't bring, or allow ANYTHING that is harmful to man... without sounding a warning. Sometimes, years... decades... centuries... even millenia... in advance. And just as there are those who ignore MAN'S "early warning" systems... always have been and always will be... there are those who have, are, and will ignore HIS means of early warning.

In THIS case, the hypothetical, I responded as to that "someone"... telling folks that, while THEY might not know how to prepare, there IS One who does... and they should go to HIM... and QUICK-LIKE... to get that information. Same as, say, someone saying "A comet is coming and you need to contact your President/King/Queen/Government to know what to do!" If such ones go, "Oh, shoot, I don't believe THEY can/will help me so, no, I ain't goin' to the one(s) YOU tell me to!"... then what? WHOSE fault is it if they don't go GET the proper information and/or evacuate when told to DO so?

For instance, the "warning" to "GET OUT OF HER, MY people!" comes to mind. Does it look to YOU like a whole lot of folks are heeding THAT warning? Yet, "her" demise isn't coming from GOD - He's just the one sounding the WARNING. YOUR position is that "she"... and those in "her"... CAN do something to stave off her demise - yet, my position is that there is NOT: her demise WILL come... and there's NOTHING anyone can do about it. Now, do you think going to those who are LEADERS among her is going to result in some kind of global attention to stand to... and a mass exodus from "her"? Do you REALLY think those who are leaders in her are going to sound a warning down... indeed, tell folks, "Oh, hey, you all need to get OUT!"?

Same thing with this matter. Dear one. It is not until those who "lead" could SEE the "comet" FOR THEMSELVES... that they would even consider sounding a warning. So... NO POINT in saying anything before that time. However, BY that time... it could be too late. Which is the direction I've been coming from: this was not, to my understanding, a discussion about God... but about someone being told a comet was going to hit the earth. Which, as some have pointed out... nothing can be done about. It was not about God SENDING a comet (why would He completely destroy the earth??).

I get concerned, sometimes, as to how you "reason" on matters. As you yourself often admit, your "anger" sometimes clouds. Maybe that has occurred here? I don't know... but I do know that I am not comfortable discussing these matters with you HERE, as I have already stated a couple/few times before. Now, if you do wish to continue, then let's... elsewhere. I am open to that, without reservation. If you are adamant that it must be done HERE, though... then you will have to continue with others, which is entirely your choice and I do not judge you for doing so. But... you WILL get what you usually get, so don't be surprised when you do.

Forgive me, dear Sab (again, peace to you!): I did not discern that God was the subject of our discussion. Indeed, based on how you and others framed your questions, I purposefully left God OUT of the discussion. Are we now applying these hypotheticals to God... Christ... and/or TRUE prophets? If so, I don't really feel comfortable discussing the details of that here, sorry. And so, again, if you want to discuss further from THAT point of view, we will need to do so elsewhere, perhaps somewhere where we can do so without the unnecessary snark and ridicule. Here, though, it's highly unlikely we would get too far without great... and very puerile... interruption and interjection. I don't want to dishonor the discussion in that way. So... if you wish to continue from THAT point of view... well, you know where to find me. Now, I don't care that some here might still be able to SEE what we discuss elsewhere - I just care that they won't be able to COMMENT in their usual manner... while we do.

If we all wait long enough (or if your posting limit holds out), we will all see just how "much" you're "hurting" today.

I've stated NOTHING dishonestly. Now, if you're not savvy as to what yak hair is often used for these days... how is that MY fault? You keep sticking your tongue into matters that you have NO knowledge of. And you KNOW you don't. You just can't stand it that others DO know some things YOU don't. Which is VERY painful for you, for some reason (well, the reason is that you think you're smart... and you are... but not as smart as you think you are... which was fomented by your comparing your "intelligence" with the sundry JW's... and often finding theirs' "wanting"... but sometimes, one can be TOO smart for one's own good... which is the case with YOU... which is WHY you're hurting...) which makes you... "hurt"... and self-medicate to mitigate the "pain." I FEEL you, son, I DO. And... your "pain."

Sorry, dear Sab. Had to get that out. Again, though, if you truly want to discuss this from more than a hypothetical, we truly will have to do it elsewhere. Here is not a good place for it. Peace.

I don't think censorship was even an issue in this discussion, dear Rip (peace to you!). Or perhaps you misunderstand the word and mean "self-censorship"... which has a different meaning? Self-censorship, however, is a means to AVOID danger... to oneself/one's loved ones.

Back to the thread title, though, there is some information that might be shared with some... and so IS useful... to them... while not being shared with others... because it ISN'T useful to THEM. Many look at that as sharing "on a need to know basis." Meaning, those who NEED to know are informed and those who don't... aren't.

To dear Sab (peace to you!) - just curious: wouldn't it depend on the size of the comet... or other "body"... as to whether something COULD be done or not? Not trying to be provocative, truly. Just thinking, in light of dear jgnat's linked graphic. I know that the movie "Armageddon" suggests blowing up such an object in the hopes that maybe only smaller piece(s) might make impact. I'm just wondering, though, if, say, some cosmological event caused, say, a pluto-sized moon or something to go off course and come to be on a crash course with earth...

Is man able to forestall EVERY potential disaster that comes his way? Right now, we can't always avoid the devastation and casualities of events on and as a result of our own planet (earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, volcanos, etc.). If we can't yet avoid those... do we TRULY have the capability to avoid the impact... or resultant devastation of a sizeable comet?

BTW - Anyone who thinks most governments/science aren't already prepared (as much as possible) to save CERTAIN lives (those THEY think are of "value") in the event of a global catastrophe... is fooling himself/herself. Those preparations began during the Cold War (if not before) and the fall of the Berlin Wall didn't end it. Not by a stretch.

But seriously curious, dear Sab. What if nothing COULD be done? Isn't it possible that such a situation COULD exist?

Is anyone here hooked on Downton Abbey?

my wife got me started watching this show last year.

we've downloaded the previous seasons on netflix and have found it to be really well done.

the story line, scenery,costumes,old cars and compelling characters have us hooked.

"Mary" is on my LAST nerve (always has been, actually - what a spoiled woman!). Too bad for dear Sybil... and Lady Grantham SHOULD be upset and angry IMHO (like men always know "better" with women's bodies... and "mother's intuition"... today, let alone back then!). Concerned for Bates, too. Think he's gonna get shanked, ALMOST die... but recover and return to service at Downton Abbey. He's too important a character to die, IMHO. Now Thomas... THAT'S a snake if ever there was one. He's the one to thank for O'Brien's turn of face, though (although, she can't be trusted, either, but right now, he's her enemy, so...).

Anyone also get into the "Tudors"? THAT was really good!

Who said anything about God? I was speaking of the "someone" who was "told" there was a comet. Which is totally hypothetical. Certainly for you, because YOU don't believe in God. So how did God get into this discussion??

How did we get to "proclaiming the end of the world"? This was a discussion between dear Sab (peace to you!) and I... as an offshoot of the original discussion... re a comet hitting the planet. Now, apparently the one who had this info survived, along with some others. Which means the world did NOT end. So what are YOU on about? God... end of the world... None of that was part of what I was discussing... nor do I believe the latter will EVER occur and anyone prophesying that it will is false. I have NEVER heard... or read (outside of, say, the National Enquirer and other media created/used by man) that the world IS going to end. My understanding is that the earth was NOT formed for nothing... and will NOT "totter." So, as usual... I think YOU are do your usual deceit "here's what's being said, folks" when nothing of the SORT is being said.

But... no surprise. Didn't expect you to hold on to YOUR so-called "agreement" more than a few days or so. One thing: YOU... NEVER... prove what I'm told about you wrong. Ever.

So glad we agree! If, for instance, anyone were to say the LORD had said something about Iran and the enf of the world, that person, according to both you and me would be a false prophet!

I would say they were, indeed... if they said "the Lord had said something about Iran... 'and the end of the world'. I would say they and their "lord" is false.

LOLOLOL! First, I am not the one mistakenly interpreting words. Second, I used logic quite accurately and wasn't mistaken. Third, you are, mistaken, though... because you are assuming... which you often do... AND misstating (knowingly, of course)... as you ALWAYS do. Fourth, I think I can safely say that you will never receive another PM from me - if my PM of agreement to peace wasn't good enough for you... I certainly won't waste my time and energy on anything less. Sorry, luv, but THAT bird has flown. And fifth, what's with the post count limitation reference? One, I am GRATEFUL for such... because it helps me temper my time spent with you. It was getting a bit out of hand and a bit of a waste of my time (as this is becoming). Two, you're in the same boat. In the meantime... LOVIN' your "show" of "peace." You really should consider holding classes and teaching others how to do it. Start with teaching them how to make "offers" as to what THEY will do... regardless of what others might/might not do... which include hidden caveats that show what they REALLY mean... which they should manifest in a very short period so that any who THOUGHT they were serious would now KNOW they weren't... without any provocation from anyone else.

Some former JWs can't change their hypocrisy and deceit... any more than a leopard can change its spots... or a Cushite her skin.

Food - A "Thanksgiving" feast (i.e., roast turkey with ALL the trimmings)... 'cause what in the WORLD can be wrong with giving thanks?!!)

Videos - "Thank God It's Friday", "The Gods Must Be Crazy"... pretty much anything with the word "God" in it...

Dress - Hot pants, with fishnet stockings and lace-up platform "go-go" boots, false eyelashes with LOTS of liner, a short faux "fur" jacket, and the biggest honkin' afro I could get my hair up into... alá Cleopatra Jones. Given some of the comments from folks on this board, though, I'd leave the semiautomatic at home...

They're actually pretty convenient, dear Miz Josie (peace!). Along with my "mmmmm" they tend to fill up space for me whilst I'm listening... thinking ... or trying to find the "right" word. Used correctly, they just mean something's been omitted. But I don't use them correctly... or sparsely - LOL!

Greetings, my dear JWN "followers"! While I must thank you ("they" say that imitation is the best form of flattery) I need to remind you that following and trying to flatter ME... is very unnecessary... and really not what you should be doing. While I do appreciate your desire to do it (both follow and imitate me)... I am concerned as to your inability to stop. It's almost like I've become a "drug" for you... a twice or more daily "dose"... which really shouldn't be the case. You should be able to overlook and ignore my comments and contribution, heck, ME... simply by implementing your own free will. That you can't (or so it seems) is concerning as it indicates that you actually have NO control over your own will... or your own eyes/fingers/mouse/computer.

But that truly is not as it should be. You should absolutely be able to utterly ignore someone you say holds no interest for you, has nothing to say that you deem to be truth... indeed (oh, there goes that overused ellipses, again - please, try not to imitate that) you say you believe is in imposter, perhaps even a snake oil vendor. I certainly wouldn't follow such an individual around, let alone repeatedly imitate such a one, not even their words. I surely wouldn't engage such an individual... or interrogate them for information, Lord, no. I mean, I would risk having an epiphany that I didn't want... perhaps even a conversion of some sort! So, why would I ever risk it... or keep putting their words out there for others to read... unless I just couldn't stop myself?

You MUST, though... learn to exercise your own free will... a stop. If that's what you TRULY want to do. If it is, then I must ask you... no, as the one you "follow", I must INSIST... that you find other interests, perhaps even a proper "leader." I realize you are lost... sheep without a shepherd... but following ME will lead you nowhere. Certainly not into truth (although, you might find the One who CAN so lead you, but that's another matter).

I understand, though, if you don't want to... or can't. I understand that some of what I share may be compelling; however, it should not compell you to follow ME... as it seems to be doing. I also understand that not all have control over their own free will and so, I will of course continue to show patience and not "leave" you... until you are able to find... and exercise the... mmmmm... "strength"... to do so.

So, again, I thank you for your unwaivering, unending, very expected, and most predictable attention, my dear "followers"! But, again, it really ISN'T necessary... or safe. Because you not only risk being misled, no, you risk more: possibly being found by a really good shepherd, indeed the Fine Shepherd! And I don't get the sense that you want to risk that.

So take care... guard your [tiny little] hearts... and give yourselves a chance. Just TRY to consider not imitating... or following me. I know it's going to be difficult for you... but I believe you can do it. I have faith that you can... if you TRULY WANT TO.

He also created free will and when you combine the two you get people going behind closed doors and doing bad things. If you remove the privacy free will is impinged upon.

We can continue this elsewhere if you're so inclined, dear Sab (again, peace to you!). I don't think here lends itself to any productive discussion, though. Certainly doesn't seem to be fomenting peace (surprise).
