  Crisis of Conscience

  i ordered crisis of conscience a few minutes ago !

  i've heard many great things about this book for people who have left the jw religion and were having a hard time, like myself.

  for those who read it, has it changed your life in any way ?

  although some chapters were a bit dry.. I am so glad I read every page. It really helped me come to terms with some of my feelings about leaving the JWs

  Is is easier to fade if you are the husband or the wife?

  i hope this brings up the "arrangement of submission" question to you.

  as the wife of an unbeliveing husband, you submit to everything except the things that go against your service to jehovah.

  as the husband of an unbeliving wife, you are kind and considerate and love her like yourself.

  I dont' see how you can fade if one is active.. fade is when you slip away and stop attending and no one notices...

  if you have an active spouse... they obviously notice..

  Fading is never easy under any circumstances..

  if one spouse choses to fade while the other is active.. yes.. it would be harder.. I don't think it matters which you are.. the husband or the wife

  my grandmother passed away the other night.

  it was expected; she's been sick in/out of the hospital for a while now.

  most of us are more relieved than anything else because she has been so miserable these last six months or longer.

  Hey girl.. I'm so sorry about your loss and that I am reading this late.. but I still wanted to comment..

  I know this upset you.. it would all of us.. you know my bf (who you know) would say.. what do you expect from a pig but a grunt.. The truth is, dubs are brainwashed.. even their agendas.. come from that brainwashed training.. any one of us could have family pull the same exact thing. We all relate because of that. Why? Because they have been programed to behave that way. Until we have our eyes opened... the same typical behavior is there...

  I'm so sorry about your grandmother though! (((((HUG)))))

  if you are a former jw, or just one who is interested enough in the cult to spend time here on jwd, i emplore you to accept a 'bible study' with jehovah's witnesses when they next call and offer.

  by so doing, and having of course a full knowledge of the doctrines and practices they employ, you have a special opportunity!

  there are quite a few but the one that got me wondering wtf i was part of was when an elder explained to a group of us that he wanted to actually see the worldly people being executed when the end comes.

  i thought to myself "you unbelievable bastard".

  Probably the day I told my (now ex) mother in law that I had seen my father the Sunday before. She gasped and recommended I go confess to the elders...

  (you see.. the Sunday before just HAPPENED to be Fathers Day.. and my father was not a witness)

  how about the one about us being not in the final hour.. but the final seconds before the clock strikes 12! That was how they hold on to them to stay brainwashed!
