Do you still believe?
by Chimene ini have found a lot of people no longer believe in god or jesus since leaving the organization.. im very shocked at this.
if you dont believe, can you tell me what brought to that conclusion?.
i was told to look at the thread that one of the members in this forum has created, they are very interesting, but i wanted to get a some feed back from different individuals.. thanks!

I just pointed my higher power meter in another direction. A much better fit! I believe Jesus existed as a person as I believe Robin Hood existed as a person and King Arthur. However the legends were embellished so much as to be fantastical. As for the Bible, its a collection of fables, for the most part. If you read a lot of the first half of it, you find why a lot of people reject that angry bearded white man god it portrays. Having said that, I do respect Jesus for being a man of love and peace, the same way as I admire Ghandi for the same qualities. Again, just not my path.

The thought of meeting his whole family scares me - is that normal??
by Super_Becka inok, i was talking to my jw boyfriend on the phone for a while last night, and we were talking about some plans that we have for this coming summer.
one of these plans is a family get-together / camping trip that his family does every year.
i'm all gung-ho for doing family events with him, but while we were talking about it last night, i got really anxious about it.. i'd thought that it was just going to be his immediate family - parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, that sort of thing.

Prepare to be love-bombed. They will be so lovey dovey and nice to you, and try to steer you around to their "witnessing" mode, hell, you are a captive audience for those short on their field service time for the month! And I love jgnat's suggestions, kinda evil like myself. However I have to warn you as nice as they can/will be to your face, they will do everything possible to break you up if they think you are too evil for their son, brother, cousin, etc.
Good luck. I wouldn't go with a JW for all the money in the world. You are a brave lady.

What were you disfellowshipped for?
by aquagirl injust curious,if anyone dosent mind sharing..myself,id been out in the real world for 11 years,married twice,etc etc,and the 'trio of guys in bad suits' came over one night and told me that i was being charged w/adultery and fornication..my then boyfriend,and i laughed so hard that we forgot to sic the dog on 'em...funny,cause one of the guys id lived with,a few years prior,an elders son,not baptized,but in good standing,never got even so much as a stern talking to..i remember one of the last meetings i went to as a teenager.the 'trio" came to my parents house and said that i wasnt to come to meetings braless anymore,that it was disturbing the brothers and making them have impure thoughts..and that by me being in a band,in the 'world',i was opening myself to satan...what a bunch of weirdos.especialy since one of my "fondest" memories is of being out in feield service,alone w/an elder,and him having his pants open in the car,and his penis sticking out the whole time.i was like 10,and wasnt sure exactly what the issue was,guess i was a bit naive,but he kept touching it and looking at me..this was a big cheese elder at the time too..very highly thought of and all..again,what a bunch of wierdos....

I'm not DFd, as far as I know, and I never DAd either. Why should I? They're just a bunch of silly old men in bad suits playing god. I won't give them the power. So whatever they decide to do is inconsequential to me, and I will not play by their rules by "confessing" or anything else for a creed that I don't believe in anyway.

If you say you are DFd they sometimes mark it down so the elders can come check up on you later. The way to set them running, is to tell them you are apostate. The look of deer in the headlights and then ....the sound of feet beating a retreat.

It's ball-shattering cold outside!

with the windchill, it's -45 (that's -49 farenheit for those in the us).
had to let the truck warm up for a good 10 minutes today, and it was solid as a rock (yes, it was plugged in).

by theinfamousone insee there seems to be some confusion as to whether think is a man or a woman... and since he/she wont set the matter straight, i think i may try..... there are two options, .
a)he is a male who was once enlisted in the school of the infamous one, and thus knows how to make everyone love him... he is a flirt, and is having fun with all the attention.... b) (which is my preference) he/she is a hemaphrodite... he is both sexes... what do you guys think???.
