  awww come on, greenday, grow a sense of humor! Madam Curie discovered Radium, thats one I can think of off the top of my head, there are many highly intelligent women in the science field. I work in Genetics, all of the people I work with are women, in fact in the field its disproportionatly women. As someone else has said, we strong intelligent women used to get burned at the stake. Some would like to go back to those days.

  it seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.

  this leads to understanding and concern.

  i hadn't seen ladylee posting the last few days - it's not like her to leave without letting us know that she's going away, and i was getting worried, so i called her this morning.. she called me back... she's fine, but her computer is not.

  it had a major crash a few days ago, and she's been trying to get it up and running ever since.. let's make sure she knows that she's missed!

  Yes he is a dupe, but remember if he was on a witness stand before a court of the law he would lie to protect the witnesses. It's called theocratic warfare. If you lied to him I don't see much difference, think of it the same way, theocratic warfare.

  Charasmatic Churches (Pentecostal, Assemblies of God, Foursquare, etc.)

  this might sound stupid to some of you... and i hope that i do not offend anyone that is a member or regular attender of a charasmatic church... but i am really confused by them.

  i grew up in a nondenominational christian church... it is basically your typical nondenominational, protestant church.

  the thing is, most members of charasmatic churches that i have talked to also told me that a true christian must be "baptized in the holy spirit" according to their definition of being "baptized in the holy spirit"... and if you aren't, you're not really a christian and not really "saved.".

  I'm not going to wade into the debate about whether christianity is right or wrong. Its not my path, but others sincerely believe it and bless all that do. However when ANYONE tells you THEIR way is the ONLY way, that is a hugemongous red flag. That is what the witnesses teach and that is what every cult believes.

  Your instinct tells you to stay away, that is powerful, listen to it!

  Sometimes it is helpful to try to understand why people believe the way they do, but it isn't always necessary.
