i don't often open up discussions on my beliefs or experiences in life, but i feel a need, so please excuse me if you feel it untoward.
neither is this a poxy swan-song, i'm just opening up my heart a little.. today i had cause to reflect on a conversation i had with my [now ex-]wife shortly after my epithany.
everything was so new and unknown.
Ross you are truly amazing and I tip my hat to you.

hi everyone, just wondering what your thoughts are on people that say they are born gay?
ive heard that this isnt actually possible, and that there is no scientific backing to it, im personaly not gay but i was just wondering what some of you think on this matter, and if you have anything to back it up with, thanks,.
.
Kid, please don't confuse us with facts!
anderson cooper of cnn made supportive comments of the film "knocking" and jehovah's witnesses in general.
evidently blogs are not letting him get by with it.
check out this story on world forum ... they really did a good job of hitting on the pedophile issue, taking note of recent legal decisions against the watchtower society:.
Does anyone have a link to this program where he supported Knocking? I'm not finding it on CNNs website.
Thanks,
Sherry

Here's a controversial new study about sexual orientation within animals, which could prove that being gay is biologically based. Controversial because it could lead to a "cure" and most gays don't want to be cured. In light of the previous discussion on this thread, I thought I would throw this out there. I thought it was very interesting.

parenting is one of the most difficult yet rewarding things there is.
doesn't every parent want their children to have a good moral compass, to have good manners, to be socially adept, to be compassionate, to reach their potential and even overachieve in terms of school and career, to appreciate and understand history, science, the arts and the world as a whole, to play team sports when they are younger so they can benefit from physical activity and the comraderie of a team sport, and above all to be a critical thinkers who are strong and independent so that they will not become easy prey to abusive organizations and/or abusive people?.
as a parent i have many times felt like a real failure and at other times like i am actually helping them to reach their potential.. what do you feel that you have done right in raising well rounded and balanced kids?
The best thing I could have done is what many have said. We communicate. But I always celebrate his successes and tell him he deserves them. I always commiserate on his hardships and tell him I'll be there for him. And I let him make his own decisions and don't try to tell him what to do or treat him like a kid now that he's an adult.
Miles may separate us, but we are best friends.
You know I worried about this so much when my son was growing up. I saw how many kids actually grew up to hate their parents, in fact I was one, having been in a VERY abusive house of JWs myself. But though I made mistakes I always tried to learn from the mistakes I made, and that others made, and taught him to learn from his. In the end it all worked out.
Best advice, really listen to them and don't "react". Save your battles for things that really matter. Always be there for them without recrimation. Just support them and love them.

alright class.
break out your pencils.
time for a test .
This seemed to be a very limited temperment test. There were only about 6 or 8 breeds on there, Labs and Golden Retrievers, which are FAMOUS for their temperments weren't even on there, not to mention Springer Spaniels, etc, etc.
I go to an off-leash park all the time and some of the NICEST dogs there are Dobermans. Back in the 70s that was the bad dog everyone was afraid of. Lots of pits there and a few Rotty's and those aren't usually the dogs that there are problems with.

about 5 months ago gumby had a knee operation, it never healed and the doctors here suck in a big way.
so yesterday he and his wife went south to get a second opinion and maybe get this knee surgery healed up.
so if you got it in you please pray for his speedy recovery and healing.
Gumbers get well ya old bastard, we miss you around here! Seriously, hope you get better soon.

my wife and i are moving to the area, preferably between seattle and tacoma, and would like to narrow our apartment search to the nicer neighborhoods.
we both are total newbies to washington and are hoping for some voices of experience to help us avoid the old "trial and error" method.
also, i'll be working in the construction trade and my job is much improved when working in the high-end homes, so if anyone knows where the wealthier people live, that would narrow down some areas for my job search.
There are some nice areas between Seattle and Tacoma but also some you'd rather stay out of. While there are some very nice places in Federal Way, the traffic there is an absolute nightmare, some of the worst in the whole metro area. I'd go with the DeMoines suggestion near the water.

i thought this was interesting.
