A lot of gay pride stuff has rainbows on it. I don't know why, as long as I can remember. That and the pink triangle that they made gays wear in the concentration camps.

a jw who works where i work saw a new age cd with an image of a rainbow on the cover, and immediately said "this is homosexual".
is this a widespread feeling among jw's, or fundamentalists in general?

ok, in reading another thread, i came across this:.
i'll never understand why i let them convince me that something so visible as "armageddon" happened "invisibly"?
when did this happen?
Thats why the light keeps getting "brighter" because the dimwits writing the books are the only ones seeing this invisible stuff. They have played it for 100 years.

Wow, thanks for the link to Carl Sagan, I had not seen that before, that is awesome.

Thanks, Gary.. So, its referring to the invisible battle in the heavens where satan was kicked out (supposedly)?? I have never heard that battle referred to as Armeggedon. I thought that term was limited in use to the battle when god wipes the earth clean of everyone except JWs.

Ok, In reading another thread, I came across this:
I'll never understand why I let them convince me that something so visible as "Armageddon" happened "invisibly"? Every thinking human being should of realized that this was bunk! And how many Armageddon's are there supposed to be. . . invisible or otherwise!?
When did this happen? Granted I've been out a long time, but I never heard of this! Good grief, this stuff gets more delusional by the minute! I know for a fact had I not left when I did and for the reason I did, that hearing this from the platform or reading it in the literature would just not have passed my bullshit test.

saw a thing on the news about a place that sells baby chicks that have been dyed various bright colors (colours for you brits).
you know these little creatures will no doubt die of neglect in a short time.
i don't think this is a good thing to teach children.
There was a bit on our news here about bringing home baby chicks for your kids. Seems like many of them carry Salmonella and you are exposing your kids to that illness at a time when it can have a devastating affect on their little bodies.

I have five sets of Tarot and use them. I've never had a bad experience. If you let your imagination freak you out, ala JW days, you can work yourself up into a bad experience, but no demons live in the cards. As for the cards themselves, I kind of view them as a tool, a "what could be" type of thing, things aren't cast in stone. When I'm looking for answers the cards help me think through all of the alternatives, and allow me to do some introspection.
Its a little different to do readings for others, some have a real gift for that sort of thing.

i remember one windy summer day, after a meeting on sunday morning, i walked out of the hall behind a sister who was part of the church congregation with her two teenage children.
her husband did not attend.
the wind caught her dress unexpectedly and blew it up a'la marilyn monroe and revealed that she was wearing (shock, horror) french knickers...... there were a few murmers behind me which i at the time put down to things like "oh poor girl, so embarrassing".
Strangest one I know happened to me. A friend and I went to the World's Fair when it was held in Spokane, Washington back in the 70s. Inside the gate there was a clown, this clown started in on me, and being young and having a sense of humor, I started kidding the clown back. Whole thing lasted about a minute or so while she caught up with me and on we went.
Imagine my surprise when we got back home and I was called into a JC, yes you heard me right. Because I was a regular pioneer we were held to "higher standards" and this sister was stumbled by my actions of flirting with this clown. Didn't get DF'd, just counciled.
If we all hadn't experienced this stuff we would never believe it. Crazy.
