  just like the wts, the mormons (okay, the "church of jesus christ of latter-day saints," hey look, a religion with even less talent at picking a name than the jw's) hide their net worth.

  nobody knows how much money they have, though estimates go as high as 30 billion usd.. .

  well, this guy in portland is suing them for (what else) pastoral pedophilia, and part of the discussion of damages, the plaintiff argues, is the revelation of how much money the church has.

  The problem here is that the WT has had each congo incorporate individually so that the society cannot be sued. Sure, you could the court to force the congo to reveal it's cash position, but that's what, about forty seven bucks? The society has it so layered, they can't get sued.

  Actually the Catholics tried this already and the courts did NOT buy it. I'll see if I can find that information, but it was thrown out with a "nice try" type of response. So there is already precedence for that as well. I hope the WTS is trembling in their collective loafers.

  This happened in the Oregon State Supreme Court. Don't know where it goes after that, is that the appeals you all are talking about? I thought it went from state supreme court to federal Supreme Court. Does it have to start over in the federal system?

  I thought this was big news too, thats why I started a thread on it. But no one seemed to think it was a big deal or at least it didn't seem to generate much interest. Maybe you'll get more. I think this has implications way bigger than the WTS, but we'll see how it goes.

  recently, i was reacquainted with a friend that i knew since i started grade school.

  he grew up in the world wide church of god and i as a witness.

  neither of us did christmas so often we would find ourselves in the library while the rest of the school did christmas activities.. .

  Years ago when I first started taking Myers Briggs I was eNFP, but as I've gotten older it crossed over into iNFP and then INFP. As to the religion thing, you can mark me down for the pagan brand of spirituality.

  My cousin was very active in this no income tax thing. He used to do seminars in Hawaii and in California (who knows, probably other places as well) preaching this same stuff. He is now in federal prison. Not paying is one thing, but preaching about not paying bought him FBI surveillance and then jail time.

  at the convention in germany/hamburg some apostates placed themselves right at the main entry.

  they have been there on saturday on sunday.

  on saturday evening the attendants formed a "wall" and pulled some of the brothers away from that path.

  yesterday some friends and i went to visit the oregon white wolf sanctuary.

  its the only arctic wolf sanctuary in the united states, and only takes wolves born in captivity that are abused or unwanted.

  they were absolutely gorgeous.

  Sammies, yes it is open to the public by appointment. She charges 30.00, its how she pays for their feed. She also has a road-kill contract with the state Department of Transportation. She' s located near a tiny town called Tidewater, which is about 5 miles or so from Waldport on the central Oregon coast. If you are familiar at all, its just down the coast from Newport. All in all the Oregon coast is amazing, but I had no idea this was around too.

  This is an amazing first attempt. Takes a steady hand to decorate like that. You have talent. I can't wait to see what you can do once you get a few of these under your belt. Looks very tasty too.
