  You Can Tell, Can't You?

  women, you seem to always be able to admit that you can spot an attractive woman and be ok with it.

  no need of having any fear of homosexual tendencies, not that there's anything wrong with it...but guys, will you ever admit that you can look at another man and know that he's attractive and good looking, with no fear within your inner being that you may be gay?.

  i was in converse with my wife and mentioned to her how attracted men are to other women.

  I can go to the "booby barn" strip joints and have a good time too.

  I went with some friends to a strip club here in Seattle for a bachelor party for one of us. I could "see" and appreciate that some of the girls were hot. Getting lap dances (which made the str8 boys hoot and holler) was a little odd, I guess I wasn't used to people being all up in my business. This one stripper, kneed me in the groin to check her progress or "what ever", and she got all pissy when she was done, and I had no wood. THAT was funny. There was an interesting asian chick with cool tattoos that almost got a rise out of me.

  Hi Whitetrash--I cringe at calling anyone that in a friendly way. There has got to be someone else, or a few someone else's who are in Sweden, EX JW, and gay. It is just a matter of broadcasting and networking. Good luck.

  Inappropriate "shepherding" calls.

  how many have recieved calls by the elders that were under the guise of "shepherding", but somehow inappropriate, i.e, you were a woman alone with only one elder showing up, or you felt physically intimidated by both.

  or say they show up at like, 10:30 at night for a shepherding call.

  and you say "hey, i appreciate the visit but please call first!

  The elders that inquired about my sex life felt it "appropriate" to ask me questions about being gay in a Coffee Shop, in public, in front of a bunch of families and their kids...... After that I never made the mistake of agreeing to meeting them on their terms again.

  Why are honest questions considered apostasy?

  this is why as i was growing up (raised in "the truth") i never asked questions.

  i never understood the birthday issue among other holidays.

  i never asked because i was scared i would be looked at as an apostate or as someone being worn down by the wicked association.

  Welcom Rayvin. I remember being young and wanting to ask questions, but being wise enough to keep my mouth shut. Eventually I got numb to it all and just kept going. I'm still trying to undo alot of that.

  I am thankful to the WTS for showing me this concept, as I can now see it in politics, scientific/academic circles, and the nightly news.

  Good luck with what ever you do; don't let the bastards get you down.

  i must admit that the social pressure was a large factor in my exiting.

  though it was hell at the time i'd rather that than life as as dub now.

  Hell no! They made me miserable for about three years. I sort of detached from the world and went inward. Before this I was a normal kid-I had friends, celebrated holidays, and had a huge extended family. We also moved around alot at this time, so that also shook me up.

  But, I no longer am angry at them. I developed coping mechanisms, like humor, and the ability to mentally shift gears very quickly. I also learned to observe minute things, this is sort of a natural talent, but it was honed by whatching people and situations. On the down side, I learned fear, still have social anxiety, and learned to be mistrustfull of people in general.

  I would not change my past, I would only wish that I could recover from it faster.

  Do you have any 'holdover' beliefs?

  after reading and responding recently to a post about eating pork and clean and unclean meats, and also a few about newfound freedoms and pleasures that some enjoy now that they are out of the jws, i got to wondering if there is anything like that on the flip side of the coin.

  in other words, despite you leaving the wts, is there anything you still believe that they taught, even though you left or were forced out, and no longer believe the rest of the jw doctrine?.

  i was never a jw, but i was raised in a rather similar group called the worldwide church of god, many of the controls, strictures, and abuses that i saw as a child there, i see posted about here-though they are different, they are also the same.

  I too will not salute a flag, or pay tribute to an icon--political, religious or societal.

  I don't have a problem with Xmas and other holidays, but I don't do it. I have some fairly well off friends, so me shopping for them would be retarded to say the least. If I do ever buy them gifts, it is just simple, little stuff or things I might make.

  The WTS extracted me from alot of the things that "normal" people are wound up in, the final trick was to do the same with the WTS. I'm done with extremists. Oddly, that kinda makes me an extremeist.

  It might be dry for some, but I jdon't find it boring. Play with the idea some more. If you like exploring the concepts of religion as used by politics, you might like the Dune books by Frank Herbert. They get kinda long and windy at times with all the detail, but they are still kinda interesting.

  Talking to God in a Lucid Dream

  one time when i was a kid i had a lucid dream experience where i dreamed of talking to our lord, obviously i know that its all in my head but the experience was so powerful its stuck with me and i still think about it,

  since ive tried to build a dream inducing machine but i wasn't able to so i just bought one: i got mine at www.thedreamq.com, i dont know of they're available elsewhere.

  i have them all the time now and i just wanted to share this, you all should know that lucid dreaming is a religious experience thats not comparable, really,,,

  You don't need a machine to have lucid dreams. You only have to have awareness; awareness that you are awake, awareness that you are dreaming.

  As a child, I used lucid dreams to help me stop wetting the bed. I guess I still use it for that now. Lucid dreams of a sexual nature can be pretty intense, but I don't deliberatly go there. (I think?)

  I do know (believe?) that I am a stronger person in my dreams, I even look different.

  i've started on a path that is very comfortable for me almost a year ago.

  and now i'm wanting to see how many believe a similar way.. i looked into wiccan, celtic, eclectic and other forms of pagan.

  i think that i've settled down into shamanism since that was the path my grandfather went.

  I like that. I like alot of Taoist philisophy, but by no means understand it all or even most of it. I am not a shaman, but I feel conected to that in some ways. I don't like to force or contrive what I am, I just am trying to learn how to be.
