were you a sought after associate?.
were you often invisible?.
did other witnesses view you as "exemplary"?.

a close jw friend of mine, got married this weekend.ever since he and i meet (13 years ago) when we were both 18 we've been close and we've experienced different life experiences together.. our qualities, have complemented each other well over the years..he the voice of responsibility and reservedness, & i the voice of spontaneity and passion.i taught him about life and he taught me about perseverance through trial.. i care about justice, he cares about reputation.he is a better person then i will ever be, but so stricken by society.. i always stuck my neck out for him, but our friendship was the thorn in his reputations side.he was on the path to mts, and i was on the path of frivolity.despite all this.. when the 2 of us were together, free from the scrutiny of the outside world he was himself, and he was a great friend.
though naive about much, he always tried to do what he could to be a friend.. i was there when he and his now wife first started dating.. i envisioned him marrying her, and my wife & i spending many enjoyable times with them as a couple.. shortly after they meet my wife & i learned ttatt.. i explained my findings to him as i did with all my friends and family.
he being a person, whom i perceived to have great deal of biblical knowledge, i expected valiant effort coming from him to "help me" see where i had erred.all i got was a email with 3 irrelevant watchtower articles & some even more irrelevant scriptures.. i would have surely been his best man, but instead another mutual jw friend was asked.i am not da'd or df'd but this is the pseudo non-invitation that he sent :.
He's the loser bro......give it a few years. And dont feel bad, before I even learned TTATT I was assisting the accounts servant.....we were pretty close ( I THOUGHT). One day I find out he is getting married......2 weeks before the wedding. So much for friendship. In the borg. THERE ARE NO FRIENDS.
so i was riding along with an uber dub.
the conversation veered to mentioning how one elder gave a very encouraging comment (he is the of loving type).
the issue was no one remembered exactly what the comment was, so i said "i know it was during the book study, i mean the congregation bible study.
@oneeyedjoe, I agree.....Ive been pushing it a bit far lately.....definetly gotta ease up before I end up in a predicament.

@Billytheexbethelite, I was there....and no I was not sipping the kool-aid. Just present by circumstance

The issue was no one remembered exactly what the comment was, so I said "I know it was during the book study, I MEAN THE CONGREGATION BIBLE STUDY. Then I slipped and said: "Funny how the book study became the BIBLE study...." I was immediatly diverted, but since learning TTATT I feel as if there is a fire in my bones which will not permit me to be quite! How in the world do they get away with considering a rote question and answer session regarding a book atleast a decade old (with some 'old light'(TM) a bible study. The bible is only opened five times at most during the entire "study". An honest name would be: The Weekly Doctrinal Review Session!
i dont have the willpower to attend meetings anymore.
i'm literally on the sound system list every week.
i'm either reading on sunday or tuesday, praying on tuesday nites, adjusting mics, passing mics, or working the sound system, or doing last minute parts for the service meeting.
What I had meant to say earlier, was that many members of this forum have gotten some counseling to work through some of the issues and indoctrination brought on by the borg.

As a fellow college student, and fader (after college)....I STRONGLY SUGGEST you take advantage of the personal counselling services at your University! Tell them everything that you are going through, many people here and all ex-JWs really do need a little extra help.
noticing a lot of posts and behaviours of the org that they seem to be trying to appeal to the younger generation.
im wondering if they are jumping on the back of a popular young clothing brand called jack wills.. a lot of their clothes have jw logo on them.
i wonder when searching this logo 'jw' on internet, where the search takes them?....................hmmmmmm!.
I agree LP97, Im young, and now I see how my whole life I was groomed to be involved in the borg. Thats how you retain people, especially young teens who are socially repressed elsewhere because of their restrictive upbringing. The whole regimen for youths now is to make sure your kids "Stay in the truth" I remember when I was 13 or so my parents were having issues, and they approached the BOE (BAD IDEA). The CO got involved and I later heard a rumor, from my dad, that this Circuit Overseer claimed that by 18, I would be out of the truth! When I found out he said this at 16 I was devasted! I was zealous in the cong. and felt as if this man was damning me for no reason. Well I finally learned TTATT at 19, and im mentally out but still active, perhaps then he realized that I wasn't the typical mindless follower. With those types you give them a few 'priviledges' at the KH and then they will do whatever you say: skip college, pioneer, go volunteer waste their youth at bethel, be concerned with spandex, etc.
just wondering if any one has heard from ones still asleep, what their feedback has been and what comments have been made by the rank and file??.

I talked to my mother yesterday about TOMO III's comments on brothers being MS and marriage. She said: "Sisters aren't dumb, somethings go in one ear and out the other."
i'm just bored.
i'm currently (right now) running a mic up and down the aisles, recognising the faulty logic, one line platitudes, and indoctrination techniques.
i like posting while on active duty.
We should have a continous thread labeled: This weeks stupidest comments! For all the faders to post the funniest stuff they hear by the uber dubs!
