my spouse and i have faded 4+ years ago.

we know the jw rumor mill has gotten back to our family that we no longer attend.

most of our family is out of state.

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate it. We are actually very happy all is going this way but we are always prepared for the jig to be up. Yes...the family is very close and most have witnessed and actually have had the JW abuse directly done to them. Maybe Xanthippe you are right. Maybe they really believe in family. I hope so! We just have to be inwardly prepared for anything. The questions may come one day and we are willing to give honest answers. The interesting question will be, will the JW family still accept us as they do now. Too bad we don't have a crystal ball to see the future. We are ready to "go clean" if we have to.

My spouse and I have faded 4+ years ago. We know the JW rumor mill has gotten back to our family that we no longer attend. Most of our family is out of state. We have a pretty close relationship with them all and have been supportive to them with all they have been through. They are all getting up in age. We have shared a lot of our doubts with them as well over the years. They do not seem to want to address the issue with us. They never ask if we attend. NEVER! Assemblies are not asked about, attendance at Memorial is not asked about. It's like they don't want to talk or ask about it. Our conversations are pretty much about daily life.

We are not complaining about it (actually it is a great thing), just perplexed. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what do you think their thought process is? Are they burying their heads in the sand, do they have doubts to but can't discuss them? They don't want to know and don't want to have to choose to not associate with us? Are they just trying to keep us close because they are getting older? We are just curious if any of you have experienced this same thing? If so, what are your thoughts?

not long ago, there was a funeral for a sister i haven’t know very much, so i did not attend.

however, some old “friends” i know drove down to town to assist and i ended up spending some time with them.

quite honestly, i was happy to see them again.

Yep...we had an Elder in our congregation banging a woman on the side but did not mention it to our friends who were being verbally and emotionally abused by him in their JC. lol

Oh well...it looks like Jah took another smoke break. Where is he? WT didn't win in Russia and it did not win this one either! Oh my, what is going on, no blessings. But we always have the ole PERSECUTION CARD to use.

My spouse and I were talking about this subject yesterday. I told him it is like a BIG pink elephant is sitting in the room. Everyone knows it is there but just won't acknowledge it. I think there are more JW's that you can imagine who have one or more issues and doubts with WT.

JW's are all about appearances and don't want anyone to think they are anything but the purest of the pure. I call them whitewashed graves full of dead mens bones. It is exhausting but also very sad. I can't imagine carrying on a relationship with anyone who can't express themselves. I think so many of them are paranoid that they will be "marked" or talked about ("I think so and so is an apostate...oh my").

I am so thankful that we no longer have to put those "performances" on. I feel so much better being free of this draining cult.

"They also seem to be really emphasizing obedience and soliciting donations far more than just a few years ago."

This is a GOOD thing. WT would not mention it if it was not a problem. The ranks are not following WT direction and they are NOT donating. I'm so grateful everyday for the Internet!

Well, that is 12 minutes and 7 seconds I won't get back.

Another dog and pony show! WT has to keep letting the rank and file know that their money is being used "wisely." I believe a lot of JW's are questioning things.

Hey girls, did you notice how the sisters noted that they are assistants to their husbands. Like a secretary! I work with so many women who could run circles around these men. Window washers/janitors by day, super heros by night. At least they get to wear a suit and feel important.

So they had to give up family, pets and one guy said kids are growing so fast. You have got to be kidding me. WT wants you to give up everything for THEM. NO...THERE NOT A CULT! It just goes to show how gullible people can be. I'd like to see the interview of these ones in about 20-30 years when WT has replaced them with new models. Out with the old, in with the new!!!

So if the end is nigh and WT is admonishing us to show a patient attitude, why didn't WT wait (in Crooklyn) and not sell their current buildings in NY. Why did they need to move to Warwick? Ding, ding, ding, Answer: Follow the $$$$!!!!

If I went to the CO and told him that we were going to build a nice new home, his response would be, the end is so close, why are you storing up treasures on earth, where rust and moths destroy. Give your "first fruits (aka, all of your money) to WT. Now that is storing up treasures in heaven!! You just can't make this sh*t up!

They hypocrisy is staggering!

Like tor1500 said, unless it happens to them, they won't listen. JW's bob their head in agreement UNTIL all hell breaks loose for them. We have seen this for years in our families. If it's you they tell you to leave it in Jah's hands, if it's them, OMG...the world has ended and they want everyone to hear how abused they have been. It's amazing!

Circuit Overseer's Idiotic Comment

at last night's clam the circuit overseer made this comment, "we elders sometimes have to act as judges in the congregation.

but we (the elders) are imperfect, and so cannot know everything about judicial matters.

that is why we (the elders) have the biblical rule that there must be at least two witnesses to wrongdoing.

Yes...they are imperfect. So why are the judging others? Why don't they "leave it in Jehovahs hands?"

When the congregation members are "imperfect" they "keep the congregation clean" by DF'ing or marking these ones. So when the Elders are imperfect, should not we keep the congregation clean and remove them as well. It's funny how it only goes one way. Kind of like the $, it only flows one way. It's hard to believe others can't see this.
