My spouse and I saw the movie last night. It was very good. Not what we expected. The first thing that came in my mind is, this is the way all JW's should treat others. He was a kind and caring man, who judged no one. He made an impact on others lives.

I am so sorry for all that you are going through. Loosing someone we love is difficult. There are many good hearted people in the world (Jehovah's Witnesses and non Jehovah's witnesses). I have met many!
My spouse and I have been born into the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses but left the religion 6 plus years ago, along with our children. We have lost all of our JW "friends" and my two best friends will no longer have contact with me. Our families have also distanced themselves from us. We are the same wonderful people we were when we were part of the religion. The only difference, is our belief system has changed. The JW's will love you, as long as you become a JW or they can recruit you into the religion. They study with you and try and get you baptized. Once you are baptized, you are locked in. If you decide to leave, they want nothing to do with you. Trust me, it happened to us. This is a cult that's only agenda is to get you into the religion. Who walks away from life long friendships and who walks away from their own children, grandchildren or parents? Who does this? I can attest that they do and it is disturbing, abusive and just plain inhumane. If I can give you any advise, stay away from these people. Enjoy and love the people who WANT you in their lives because they truly love you for WHO you are. Hugs to you.

Once an Elder has it out for you, they will stop at nothing to "get you." My spouse and I had the same thing done to us but we gave him the big F U. We didn't fall into his little trap and he could go no where with it. Some of these Elders are sick to the core. Some will stop at nothing to ruin your life.

I love success stories! Thank you for sharing that. It just goes to show, WT is an abusive and corrupt cult and you got out in time to save you and your family much harm. Great job!
We saw how the Elders started getting on to our teenage son. My husband went to one of the Elders who was trying to "guide" (berate) our son. He told him to back off and leave him alone. He was a great kid and is now a fine adult. We are proud of him!
I guess we dodged a bullet by getting our kids out!

There truly are those that no matter what happens, this is "the truth."
We have family that has been emotionally abused (from the Elders) countless times, over the years. We have watched it over and over and over again. THEY STILL BELIEVE THIS IS THE TRUTH! It's incredible to watch! They go back for more! They believe that it is Satan and these are "imperfect men." Did they ever once think it was a corrupt and abusive cult. THEY ACTUALLY GO BACK!! CRAZY!!

Their thoughts: "You CAN NOT possibly be happy without being Jehovah's earthly organization. We have been told that NO ONE can possibly have a happy life." When you have had this crap drilled into your brain all of your life, how can you possibly understand.

Ewart Chitty
by NoAbuse inewart chitty was appointed as secretary-treasurer , which position he held until his appointment to the governing body in november 1974.. when in brooklyn, chitty seems to have preferred younger men as roommates.
the actual charge brought to the gb against chitty was made by a former roommate and involved some sort of inappropriate conduct.
the gb concluded that chitty had homosexual tendencies, and asked him to resign.. a rare photo of chitty in happier days.

Watched it. It was spot on. Whoever advised them on the JW's were spot on.
The kicker was, when the Dr. revealed the tattoo on the boy, the Father and Mother walked out the door. They left their kid!! True 100% Watchtower behavior.
