Amen _Morpheus! That is EXACTLY what I would do. In our case, they could care less about you until you leave. Once you leave they will call you a couple of times a year, when the CO comes around. You are just a check box on their to do list. Can you feel the love? -

"I was previously an elder and saw my fair share of the good ole boys network, favoritism, and cronyism, whatever you’d like to call it. It's amazing how much some of them think of themselves. They fail to realize their power is all an illusion without the religion. Minus the religion they are nothing."
Welcome 7Starz! We (born ins/3rd Generation) have just joined recently also. Been lurking for a long time. It seems like ALOT of Elders are starting to wake up. The Elders get to see so much of the hypocrisy. You are right, some Elders do think ALOT of themselves and would be nothing if it wasn't for their religion.
We look forward to hearing from you again!
It's great to be free! Enjoy!

"You are still married, and still happy ?"
by Phizzy ini met an aging, well, late sixties, pioneer sister a few days back, from a congregation four removes away, and a different circuit to my old congo.
i have known her since i was a kid.. i wasn't quite sure at first if she knew our "status" as we exchanged pleasantries, but it soon became clear she knew exactly our situation, that we walked away a few years ago.. she asked me about my views on life now, and listened respectfully, and said she appreciated my view, but a couple of questions that she threw at me, as in the thread title, showed that she was surprised that mrs phizzy and i had not gone off the rails after we left.. the mind control goes so very deep does it not ?
she was surprised that our marriage hadn't failed, and that we were now happy.. i wonder if she will ever make the connection that the jw org has lied to her about those of us who leave ?.

Congratulations!!!!
The WT wants everyone to believe that once you leave your life will fall apart. It is kind of like a bad country song.
Not always the case WT. My mate and I left and are happier than ever! 32+ years and going strong!!!!
Enjoying life to the full!
Cheers Mr. & Mrs. Phizzy!!!

Why So Many Young People Are Leaving The Watchtower
by Jeremy C ini have been giving a lot of thought to the young people who are leaving the watchtower organization in recent years.
last night, i was reading the thread posted by jwfacts a while back in which he provided some statistics and graphs showing the rapidly declining growth in the watchtower.
one factor that was discussed at length was the high number of young people who do not stay in the organization.

I think that this OP was a great one. With Anthony Morris' new JW TV rant on higher education. This organization keeps blaming Higher education for the young ones leaving the org. They need to take a look in the mirror and see that these young ones are wiser than they give them credit for.
Kids need something. Something to feel a part of. As a born in, anything that was fun (good clean fun) was always WRONG. Someone in the Congregation (usually a Nazi Elder) usually ruined it for the kids. After a while the kids felt beat down and went out and found other things/people to entertain themselves with (good or bad).
It's tough growing up in this religion. It's tough growing up in this world.
I really feel bad for the young ones that are still in. So many are just taking their hopes and dreams away.
We keep telling our kids to think, listen and speak & never stop learning. When you take peoples (kids too) dreams away, what do you have left?
Times are getting tougher financially and these kids have it even tougher than we did. They need some form of training to make a decent living. Even some of the Elders and MS's feel this way but can't express it. When your health insurance exceeds your mortgage payment, we have a problem.
Anyway...if you haven't read the original post, it may be worth the read.

So question...who dropped off that Bethel attorney @ college? Was it the organization? So if that attorney screws up do they have to step down? If an Elders kid decides to screw up, don't they blame the parents? Daddy has to step down (even if he did a bang up job raising his kids?).
"Who dropped them off there"? How smug can you get!
Also, becoming a Nurse can take up to 4 years of college (if you need to take your core classes). Becoming a nurse is alot of work.
These guys are so out of touch with reality. Come live in the "real world" with all of us tax payers with a mortgage/rent payments. Come join us for 2-3 hours or more a day, sitting in the city traffic and rushing home to get the kids ready for the meeting. Heaven forbid if you're late!!!! Come help us out with the lawn maintenance/home maintenance on the weekends. I guess that would be "our fault" too. They would just say..."who burdened you down"? Who bought the house? It's ALWAYS YOUR fault, not ours.
Sorry for the rant.

That idiot is at it again!
In one of his previous talks I heard, he spoke about University teaching Philosophy I and Philosophy II. Yeah Tony...if students take these courses they may find out that their religion is a crock of s***.
Hey Tony (if you or one of your "boys" is reading this)...keep up the good work. Trust me...people are starting to figure things out on their own. Keep plugging the Internet, it's working GREAT!

We just watched this. All we can say is WOW. We witnessed something similar in our KH, several years back. A sister (disfellowshiped) suddenly lost her infant. When we attended the funeral most of the congregation shunned her. We never forgot it. It sickened us!
The story is tragic but we truly believe this is how some of the Elders handle the sheep. We have watched it all of our lives (born ins).
They are always speaking about blood guilt but they have ALOT of blood on their hands.
