A Watchtower double standard: Rejection and the silent treatment.
by ScenicViewer ina recent watchtower study article shows how bad it is to be rejected over religious beliefs when olga revealed that her husband was not speaking to her because she is a jehovah's witness.. 9 in south america, olga proved loyal to god by showing respect for her husband even under trying circumstances.
for years, he expressed annoyance at her for being one of jehovah’s witnesses.
he abused her emotionally, insulted her, refused to speak to her, and threatened to take the children and leave her.

I think the most frustrating thing is, the JW's just can't see what is right in front of them. They are so brainwashed! -

Being Positive around family that are still in.
by freddo inif you are a fader or you have reduced activity markedly - say resigned as a pioneer or an elder or ms or gone inactive and still have some relationship with your immediate family or spouse - how do you stay positive around them when you feel like shaking them out of their stupor but believe deep down it would be counter productive?.
thoughts from all most welcome..

Darkknight said it perfectly.
Sometimes I have to just walk away before I say too much or say anything at all. Like I have said before, saying anything is similar to banging your head on the wall.
We choose to go watch a beautiful sunset or take a walk rather than spending our time trying to reason with unreasonable people. We already wasted enough of our life. We refuse to waste any more.

George Cook former DO, now just an elder at Prince's home congregation KH
by oppostate ingeorge cook, omg, george f'ing cook, whattttt!.
caption: elder george cook (right), one of the nine elders of the small 90-person congregation, said prince regularly ‘witnessed’ alone in the community and in groups.
he was very detail oriented and very eccentric.

They put him out to pasture. No longer any use to them. I loved how they used to tell me to reach out for a position (MS) and told me they would like to "use" me. There are several different definitions of the word "use." -

If Prince had an addiction to prescriptions drugs, it's a personal matter but if I want to grow a beard or attend college, it's not.
by ToesUp ininteresting article i found about prince and the jw religion.
i guess they are trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.
i find it disturbing that the elder stated if prince had an addiction to prescription drugs, that is a personal matter but the hundreds of intrusive jw rules like going to college (not scriptural) and growing a beard (also not scriptural) are not also considered a personal choice.

- "Just because one person did a bloodless hip surgery doesn't mean that everyone could. Medical situations vary from person to person. You never know what else he may have been dealing with that made bloodless surgery impossible."Rebel8My apologies, you are correct. I had a moment of past JW judgement (bad habits are hard to break). I DO NOT know what Prince was experiencing. It was NOT my place to judge him.As "the world" says..."we all have our crosses to bear.

No worries. I am always "happified" when others (especially JW ass*oles) are exposed. The CO's and former DO's usually are the biggest of ass*oles. Rock on!!!!

We just had a family member have a bloodless surgery hip replacement. He is doing 100% better. He's just a middle class blue collar worker. Prince had more money than God and could have hired the best of the best doctors and paid in cash. -

"shes mad, that her life isnt like those fake made up experiences she hears at conventions, or reads about in the year book."
sowhatnow, you are spot on on this one. Her life is not matching up to what it SHOULD be. She is not happy. NOTHING is happening, no END in sight. I do believe some, for the very first time ever, are having to realize that they will die. It's a tough pill to swallow.

Celebrities , Adulation , Lifestyle , is this for Jehovah`s Witnesses ? Isn`t it a form of Idolatory ?
by smiddy inof course this thread is inspired by princes sad death , yet i wonder how the average j.w.
nowadays.. from what i have gleaned from the many threads about his death their seems to be a reverence about him even on pro-j.w.
sites.. i have been out for about 25 years , yet in my time in the "truth" anything that put you on a pedestal was a no , no.. competition in any form was discouraged , sports especially.

They love anyone with money! If you have money in the JW cult, they can make things go a certain way (wink wink).

"First of, I loved prince. I believe he tried to be good and do good. But I also find it hard to believe that he didn't smoke, had sex or use any type of non prescribed drugs in the last 13 years. Especially the "no sex" for a sex symbol. I find that very hard to believe."
Oh man...I couldn't agree more. There is more double lives out there than you can count. The JW's are no different. They have all of the same problems normal "worldly" people have. They are full of sh*t that they have Jahs holy spirit. My spouse and I counted the # of JW's (family and friends) that are on meds for depression (some can not get out of bed) and the # of alcoholic JW's we know. Not only are they on meds for depression but they are also on anti anxiety prescriptions. It's amazing and all a farce that they are living the happiest lives. That is crap! Prince is no different. I loved him as an artist but he also had problems, like the rest of us. He was just famous and rich. HE WAS HUMAN!
