Not angry, just glad we were able to escape semi young enough to hopefully be able to retire one day. Loosing hope that we will ever get our family out.

Older JW: not happy
by Gorbatchov inthis week i visited my sick father in law.. then an old elder from my far away congregation came in for coffee.
did not see him in 15 years.. nice chat.
had a lot to say, is alone, his sick wife disabled and away from home.. he told me: "living alone is so hard.

"The elders finally gave up. It was too much of a burden on "the friends" to have to pick her up."
We knew of an elderly brother in our area. The Elders gave him plenty of attention. He was housed in a very nice assisted living complex. The Elders and congregation were ALWAYS there for him. Guess what? HE HAD MONEY! Yep...you guessed it, he left it to WT. Spouse had already died and no kids.
If you can not do anything for anybody in the congregation or at Headquarters, you are not worth the effort. Sad! My heart breaks for these ones.

Guilt trip
by Jrjw indid anyone have other jws try to guilt trip them when they were leaving or if you were making a decision which jws felt was wrong but wasn't unscriptural?
i'm getting people guilt tripping me to eventually get back with my emotionally, spiritually and mentally abusive husband who i'm separated from.
i feel sick at the thought of getting back together and putting myself through that nightmare again but i'm being told its what jehovah wants coz he doesn't want families to be apart.

Yes, guilt works wonders on many. JW's are famous for making you feel not so good about yourself and question your decisions. Since getting away from those types, we feel so much better and happier. Hope you can escape soon.

Yes, we have family members who don't go to meetings, assemblies or serve us but still claim to be Jehovah's Witnesses. Maybe Serena can throw WT some cash to receive Watchtower's approval.

"John Cedars Reddit article mentioned a shunning case that is to be decided soon by the Supreme Court of Canada"
I wonder how many lawsuits WT has been slapped with because of the shunning?

An Active JW Sister Modelling For Me
by pale.emperor insince leaving the borg i jumped both feet first into classes i've always wanted to do but was never "allowed" to.
two of which are life drawing and photography.
i've been studying for almost two years now and have seen more nude men and women in our classes than i care to remember.. today in the photography studio i was working in with three others (two women, one man) we were told we had a new person modelling for us.

She probably has a experience to share at this weekends assembly. It's usually the "exemplary" ones who have all the dirty little secrets.

My fading suffered a miscarriage
by Ireneus ini thought of successfully fading out, but suffered a miscarriage last week.
i gradually decreased the number of meetings i attended.
in the latter half of the year it became once a month, then once in two months, once in three months ….. last week, two elders who visited me, after their bla..bla..asked: “where will you go leaving the motherly organization—the only truth now available on earth?”.

What Incognito said is spot on. You have no family in, you are very lucky. The "friends" you made in the org are just conditional friends. A true friend would never abandon you. We faded almost 5 years ago and not one "friend" has contacted us.
"Even if you are disfellowshipped, that is only a label JWs place on you, which means nothing to anyone other than JWs, depending how YOU feel about it."

I am getting disfellowshipped
by CitizenofEarth inmaybe some of you remember me, maybe not.
for general information i am now 19 years old, and living by myself.
for the past 1 year (more like 1.5 years) i have been quietly fading out of the hypocrisy of this organization, but since i still live in the town i grew up in it has been hard, and filled with different challenges.

Do not attend the JC. Tell them that you will only attend if you can bring an attorney. Play hard ball with them. These guys are hunting you. I am going through the same thing. I give them NOTHING!!!

Great post. Due to some circumstances that happened to my family this week, I feel this is just the tip of the iceburg. Watchtower is a corrupt organization. Hopefully, the money will dry up eventually but who knows who really is wrapped up with this organization.

My wife and I just had a wonderful experience today.
by smiddy3 inmy wife was looking through some old diary`s that we have lying around and found a ph.# of an old friend (jw) that we knew over 15 years ago .we were always curious as to what has happened to her as she was a dear friend for many years when we were in the "truth".
so she rings the number (,do you still have the same # that you had 15 yrs ago ?
) and this friend was a bit of a "gypsy" type so she wasn`t expecting much when she rang.. to cut a long story short we all had a good conversation we had been trying to find out about her all these years with no success and she was also trying to find out about us all these years with no success ,we had moved interstate.. nothing was said about religion though i suspect she is still associated with the borg.

We bumped into a couple of people from our old hall last week. They both hugged us and asked how we were doing. I guess some don't really care. JW's are a mixed bag of "nuts." lol
I think a lot of JW's got to the KH like they would go to their local bar. It's a place to hang out and chit chat with "friends." I truly believe that most of our family attend just for the social aspect. Nothing more.
