Please excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. OMFG that was INSANE! I'm actually stunned at how crazy they have gotten. I went a good 15 years out of that religion and I'm now catching up with all they are doing and I don't recognize the JW religion I grew up in. I honestly believe all the logical thinking people have already left and only the hardcore crazed JW's are still in. It's only going to keep going downhill from here. GOOD!

HOW EXACTLY does god communicate with or direct the GB?

we're all familiar with the organisations claims (and have seen the flow diagrams in books and mags) that the gb is "directed by god".

in turn, the local elders are "directed by god".

so, how exactly do they suppose this happens?

This is very easy to answer. No higher power is in contact with the GB in anyway whatsoever. They make it all up on their own, preach it as coming from a higher power, and sadly millions of people are brainwashed into believing and will obey them.

at the meeting today several elders commented about the wonderful program that they attended yesterday on the new kingdom hall designs.

they said that the new halls are going to be so beautiful with lots of windows and glass panels and that the lights will be kept on in the lobby 24/7 so that you can see into the hall at night and that thousands of these halls must be built.

then five minutes later they are talking about how close the end is and that we will be meeting in basements in the near future.

Just ignore insidetheKH, they are clearly a JW troll. I've seen this before, a super crazed JW comes on a website like this, trolls around, and leaves. Let them be a slave of ignorance, a good punishment for them.

i got to thinking the other day about how the wt uses loaded language.

and spin to give thinly veiled credence and so-called respectability to their policies.. but why not call a spade a spade.

Voluntarily stepping down as a Pioneer, MS, or Elder = Everyone will judge you badly and gossip about you behind your back.

Going to Bethel = I am the most spiritual person in this congregation and God loves me more than you.

Actually arriving at Bethel = Financially destitute slave.

Governing Body = We are God; worship us now and GIVE US MONEY!

Jesus = Not as important as the Governing Body.

Watchtower = God is physically writing all this in the magazine, believe it and obey or he will KILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

Field Service = Find us more slaves so we can milk all their money too!

Regional (District) Convention = Biggest guilt trip and fear mongering of the year. Oh, and GIVE US MONEY!

JW.ORG = OMG give people the direct web address so they won't Google "Jehovah's Witnesses" and learn the actual truth about our doomsday death cult.

Should I go on? I can do this all day...

i was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.

of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.

i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

So glad you are taking the steps toward freedom. I spent 25 long years in it myself. Pioneer, MS, even served at Bethel. The hard part is coming to the sad understanding you have been lied to and how to piece your life back together as this religion takes so much from us. I know you'll do well, I wish you the best and congratulations on this first big step!
