Wife and I attended the Saskatoon convention July 1-3. Its all gloom and doom talk. When the basement confinement video started, I said to my wife bunker videos which made her think about it. It seems the WT$ is focussing on human emotions with the loyalty (obey) card being played. On the way home my wife mentions that no announcement was made about next years convention. I thought that was odd that no comment was made. Maybe the big A coming.

I hate this cult too. This has to be my last assembly if I can make it through the three days. Our RC is the last week of June.

I misunderstood your OP. Every time I visit Calgary I put up with high speed drivers that drive close to my rear bumper at 12 km over the speed limit and I am forced to speed up. Now if a police officer has a radar gun pointed at me I get a ticket for speeding and the driver behind me gets away with speeding. I want to drive the speed limit but I have to go with the flow. This gets on my nerves. I am from a small city and I find that the big city life is fast paced. I have not been ticketed yet but if I lived in a very large city I can see it being a problem. -

I was told by a family member that In Calgary, Alberta that the police are handing out traffic tickets for even minor charges like a burned out tail light and speeding on any road. Is this due to the drop in oil price or something else? -

My wife and I attended the morning session yesterday and one old man had to helped out of his chair by two brothers to reply to the two questions. This was one person out of 529 in attendance. Last weekend we attended the afternoon session and found out only one born in teen was dunked out of our circuit at over 529 in attendance. We did not watch the old man getting dunked. I hope he survived. lol Our region is southern Saskatchewan, Canada.

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

I tossed my card out back in 2010 and will not have one. If I am cornered and forced to sign a card, I will refuse. If the elders want to DF me and that will be okay. -

I like to think that the WT$ is a multi-level marketing business or a pyramid company with GB at the top and no money for the workers at the bottom. -

Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

I read in some WT$ publication years ago that mentioned that 'those who were old enough and understood the events at the time of 1914 would not pass away' or something along those lines. Well those people have passed away and the big 'A' has not arrived. Another false prediction. -

I recall love statements in the watchtower study on Sunday and I kept thinking about the marking, shunning and disfellowshipping policy. Love in the WTS is conditional.
