@startingover - The guy was caught a few streets down still carrying the knife and still pissed. I later on heard he got 25 to life. He may already be out or probably dead but I believe I heard mom say he would beat the sister and tried to keep her from attending. You would think the idiot brothers would tell her to cooperate with him but instead probably pushed her to fight him in order to attend. Boy oh boy.

Is Pokemon Demonic?
by Saename in[spoiler: pokemon is an invitation to communication with or possession by demons because... well... pokemon comes from demons.
so... i was looking through different questions on quora, and i noticed one that read, "is pokemon demonic?
" i was interested in seeing what people have to say, especially that not so long ago there was a thread (or a post in a thread?

No and neither are the Smurfs or Dora.
It simply amazes me that zealous witnesses will be quick to label something as improper yet if you were to provide free tickets to the Magic Kingdom they'll practically trip over each other trying to kiss your a*s for them.

@ TB - I'm so sorry for your loss. I, like you, sometimes find old pictures, invitations, and even old VHS videos with people I thought were truly friends. I can't blame them because the majority of them really do not know what they do due to the extreme mind conditioning. I have a story I'd like to relate here that also demonstrate how blind and manipulated the friends are when something tragic happens right before their eyes in a KH setting:
I must have been around 6 or 7 years old sitting through yet another boring mid-week meeting at the hall. I was sitting to the right of the stage about mid-row or to the left of the stage speaker. The speaker was the PO and it was probably right around 1 hour into the meeting. From the corner of my eye I caught a man casually dressed walking quickly towards the stage. Being casually dressed he was definitely out of place and I concentrated on him as he walked on the left side of the hall or to the right of the stage speaker. As he made his way towards the stage I noticed something shiny in his hand. Having quickly reached about the 5th row from the stage he confronted a sister and with the shiny object in hand he started a downward slashing motion. The shiny object was in fact a Bowie knife and with it, the man managed to slash the sister's cheek open and catch one of her hands as she tried fending him off. The blood that poured from the sister's face was significant and shocking. Seeing the incredibly brutal scene happening right before her eyes, the sister next to her let out a bloodcurdling scream. I believe the scream may have well saved the sister's life being that it seemed to make the man momentarily stop and give enough time to male friends to come to her rescue. I vividly remember the PO practically running off the stage and head right to where this man was standing only to be confronted with the knife himself. The PO boldly stepped toward this man kindly but firmly asking him to exit the hall. As the PO tried to reason with this wild eyed man, many more male friends stood next to him and behind him in what looked like a small ocean wave of bodies. From the moment the PO confronted the man to the moment the man finally exited the hall it seemed like hours had passed when only minutes had elapsed. Several times he would lunge towards the PO in a threatening manor to which the PO and the other friends would react by jumping back and then aggressively moving forward as a group. This probably happened 5-6 times until the man, walking backwards the whole time, exited and ran off. As soon as the man was gone there were many sisters who started to weep and sob at what they had just witnessed. The meeting was momentarily stopped and I believe it was a total of no more than 20 minutes from the moment the man entered the hall to when he departed that the meeting resumed as if no attempted murder had just occurred. The sister was taken outside while waiting for the ambulance and police. The majority of the members stayed at their seats as if frozen. Who could blame them? At the time I remember thinking "why are they continuing after this lady was nearly killed?" That thought quickly dissipated as the humdrum of the WT information started up again. Shortly after the meeting resumed I remember a friend of mom's sitting next to me and she was quietly crying and shaking. I remember turning to mom and asking why this lady was still crying. Mom explained that this friend was easily frightened and not to worry about her. Thinking back on this question I have to admit it was rather heartless to even ask it. However, having grown up in the environment I grew up in, this type of violence was the order of the day. I don't really remember much after mom's explanation but I'll never forget the entire episode and how it was inhumanely handled.

Why THAT talk? Why NOW?
by dubstepped inin another thread there's a discussion about how the show must go on and meetings weren't even slowed down by the deaths or medical emergencies of ones in the audience.
for instance, one young brother's unbelieving father was murdered locally.
not long afterward he's assigned a part on an assembly about the resurrection or something.

One thing I know for sure. The GB does not care whether your mom just died and you were asked to give a talk the following week at an assembly on the resurrection. If they happen to find out about your delicate situation they will utilize the talk to further indoctrinate you and cement in the minds of others, especially those knowing the orators situation, that the GB and the JW's are God's one and only true organization.
It's rather sickening and revolting because as much as the brother/sister may want to pass up on it, he will be spiritually blackmailed into doing it. The alternative is to be labeled spiritually weak and unfaithful to "Jehovah's Organization."
Please allow me to go to the bathroom and vomit now.

They Don't Have A Secret Elder's Book
by pale.emperor in"they don't have a secret elder's book" so said my mother.
"all of our publications are open to everyone.
we all have the same information and nothing is hidden in this religion.".

Prior to finding out about "the book" I always would have problems understanding how we were supposed to be "Jehovah's Witnesses" when scripture clearly said we are Witnesses of Jesus Christ. One day it would be Jehovah coming to judge. The next meeting it was Jesus. Next meeting Jesus was king. Then 30 minutes later Jehovah was king. You literally had to figure out who's kingdom it was. Conspicuously missing was putting faith in Jesus as the only way to salvation. Instead it was always "slave for Jehovah" as he was the savior of sinners.
I dealt with it the best way and probably only way Witnesses deal with this sort of confusion and that was to "trust the Slave" and continue "waiting on Jehovah". It wasn't until I found out the elders had an exclusive book that my doubts started. Then little by little their man-made kingdom fell to pieces.
The freedom of taking that guilt ridden JW lifestyle off my shoulders is incredibly liberating and refreshing. Today I'm at peace and enjoy a stress free life. Too bad my family is still a part of this sinister cult but we manage just fine. Nothing can stop me "I'm all the way up". 😊

The UN Files - Print Out And Keep For Your Next JW Visitor
by pale.emperor ini've been researching the wt and the un involvement.
when i was still in and i first seen the un letter online, my cognitive dissonance kicked and i told myself it'll be a fake.
an apostate lie.. and seeing as no jw i've spoken to has ever heard of it, and flatly deny any involvement "no, they wouldn't do that", i decided to do a little "personal study" of my own.

Brother & Sister-in-Law Return to Kingdom Hall After Two Decades, Quickly Get Stumbled
by TMS init was a mild surprise, learning that a brother and sister-in-law had began re-associating with jehovah's witnesses after at least 25 years of being away.
the couple, of hispanic ethnicity, are in their early 60's, with their five children all grown and independent.
the family had been considered nominal jws, infrequently attending meetings, rarely in field service, but using the annual convention as their family vacation.

Funny thing about cleaning toilets and taking trash out, etc. The ones rarely seen doing these 'menial' tasks were elder wives. God forbid they clean someone else's s**t. They were above cleaning the s**t cuz they were already knee deep in it sniffing the CO's own batch. Simply hilarious.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. There are so many things wrong here that someone from the outside looking in would be appalled and just plain shocked. From taking illegal pictures and showing these to others without your permission, to your wife taking her parents side over yours.
I wholeheartedly agree with Onager. I think at this point it's become a legal matter and that's the only language these maggots understand. From the elders to those pieces of crap in Brooklyn.
Good luck my friend. Use the law and make them pay for everything you can make them pay.
I pray for your little one and having her go through this nonsense at such a young and tender age. These people have absolutely no conscious.

How do you deal with depression?
by BlackWolf ini'm currently going through a bout of depression and my eating disorder has gotten worse.
ever since my parents actually told me that they are going to kick me out when i turn 18 i've felt kind of hopeless about my life.
my parents won't take me to the doctor because the psychiatrists won't have my "best interests" aka jw crap in mind, because really that's the root of all my problems.. i'm wondering if any of you guys have any advice with dealing with depression?
-

Tell your parents you plan on writing a letter to Brooklyn expressing their desire to kick you out and you going through a depression stage. I'm sure that will make them sit up quickly because they know that their masters do not advocate kicking someone out merely because they don't buy the crap their selling.
Moreover, tell them that you are on the border of suicide and if and when you do go, you'll be mailing a letter to the local news spelling out why you did it and what led you to it. But be sure to mention this in your letter to Brooklyn.
In dealing with depression, first let me say I'm sorry you are going through such a rough time. Most of us here have gone through it and we can certainly sympathize. The best advice I can give you is to meditate remaining positive. I would highly recommend reading Napoleon Hill's books. They are incredibly refreshing and great for redoing your life over. Best of luck to you. I'm always available in IM if you ever need an ear.
