unbuttoning the watchman
by czarofmischief inin my current campaign against "e-watchman" i am going to copy tactics i learned from my favorite watchtower studies - posted weekly by blondie.
my urge to do this is caused by what i view as a real danger to those who are escaping the intense mind control of the borg.
e-watchman uses guilt and condemnatory statements in a big way, which could strike those who are feeling guilty about leaving the watchtower anyway.

Question about Satan being thrown down to earth
by gold_morning ini read something and thought some of you might know.
remember revelation 12:7. there was war in heaven and micheal and his angels battled the dragon and his angels.
then satan was thrown down to earth and was like a roaring lion.. didn't the jw's say that this happened in 1914?

A fundamentalist once told me that the gigantic meteor which killed off the dinosaurs was in fact Satan and the demons being thrown out of heaven.

Some of these really made my jaw drop!
*** w52 2/1 95 Questions from Readers ***
Really, our colored brothers have great cause for rejoicing. Their race is meek and teachable, and from it comes a high percentage of the theocratic increase.Sheesh, and I thought the WTS ramblings NOW were bad, how could anyone back then have swallowed this nonsense?!

I'm not sure about other congregations, but in mine, going to see a psychiatirst is accepted. Not surprising, considering how many of the witnesses seem to be dealing with deep depression...

What do you belive happens to us after we die?
by Singing Man ini was raised a jehovah's witness and like most are aware, they presently belive that by and large everyone who dies ceases to exist.
i accepted this fate for most of my life and i guess i still do for the most part, but now that i do not go to the meetings what am i to accept death to be, as i will die as well as my friends and family at some point.
i think that idea of being in gods memory made sense to me as i have excepted it for forty five of my fifty years of being alive.

After our physical body dies, our soul will gradually ascend through the different levels of heaven, passing purgatory on through lower realms of the desire plane up to a higher level where we will live in happiness for as long as we wish. After that, our desire body will die, and our soul will pass on to higher levels of abstract thought, where the fruits of the past life will be added to the core of our being, which is an inseparable part of God, and then will descend again to start a new life.
However, the personality that we had in this lifetime will not live on, though it will have a great effect on our next lifetime. So in this sense, you and the name you go by at this point will die, so there is still the reality of loss that must be accepted.
I've always had a deep feeling that death is not the end. Matter and energy cannot be destroyed, only changed into a different form, why not consciousness? Still, I don't know for sure. Just believing is not enough, I need a personal experience that confirmes my convictions.

I agree that some of the stuff in this book is rather silly, but keep in mind it was written back around the turn of the century or so. What I found interesting was the fact that Jehovah is actually a lesser god.

Do any of you start humming a Kingdon tune out of the blue?
by Singing Man indo any of you start humming a kingdon tune out of the blue?
i do from time to time, i love music you can take any key and there will be a kingdom song that starts with it.
that is how i learned how to play a harmonica was by remembering the tunes of jehovah's witness's.

No, I never hum any of the Kingdumb songs. Sometimes though, when I'm at the meeting, after hearing to the songs they start playing over and over in my head! I'll be driving to work or reading a book, and the godawful nails on chalkboard music starts up again. ERRRHHH! It makes me want to take a hammer to my forehead. Having to listen to Barny songs over and over is far more merciful...

Some of the research I've done seems to suggest that Jesus was originally a Nazorean Essence, a teacher who lived before the time suggested in the Gospels. Those who formulated the early Christian religion took elements from Mithraism and the other Mystery Schools because they all shared similar ideas, and applied these allegorically to Jesus. The fact that the Gospels are not literally true doesn't mean that they are some sort of evil conspiracy as people have suggested. Although people may scoof at them today, many of the ancient myths (even the seemingly ridicolous ones) were the outer form of complex spiritual teachings. For instance, the Bible is literally a gold mine of occult teachings, even though most don't realize it.
