We had it at our home for a few years while we pioneered. And, unlike Mulan, when I had a baby it made it worse. I came home from the hospital and was staying in the bedroom that morning to be with the baby and rest. Well, I woke up and the bookstudy was circled around the bed! Coulda' been embarrassing as I nursed all the babies! That was kind of the beginning of the end for me. That, and digging peanut butter sandwiches out of my sofa....and I made coffee and brownies and let everyone keep their shoes on

Gosh, I never thought about it until now. No. I have to say I was treated with respect by peers and others. My friends would ask and then listen to my weak explanation of holidays and life in general being pagan and immoral. My teachers commented on my convictions to my beliefs and left it at that.
On the other hand, I have received persecution after leaving too painful to recall and write. Seems all my persecution has come from Jehovah's followers. huh.

I was on a small stoop 2 steps above a "brother" I had a huge crush on. A gust of wind lifted my skirt up and over his head. Thank God it was a not-at-home. Neither of us mentioned it...but I giggle now.

some 35-40 million live christmas trees are used yearly in the u.s., millions more in great britain and other nations worldwide including mostly non-christian japan and even china.
a main source for information here is handbook of christian feasts and customs by francis weiser, although works by clement a. miles and sheryl karas were also consulted.

Quote from my mother:
"Well, your brother and father and I are on anti-depressants and we're fine. (all JW's). Make yourself a dr. appointment and I will pay to get you something so you can come back to the truth." I'm not kidding.

A favorite quote of mine:
"So you are talking to the maker of the universe, the one who knows all, and YOU are doing the talking?"
I only see and hear arrogance when I hear talk of answered prayers. When I hear of a planecrash with one survivor who attributes being saved to a prayer? What of the others? I believe we make our own destinies and prayer is a form of self-hypnosis, if it works for you, leave it at that....but don't gloat.
