  Incest accuse , witchunt?

  after i have read a lot of this here, and evrything bill say, i must say this is a very delicat and difficult issu.

  almost unbelevebel difficult.. i dont want to defend abusers, fare from that, i hate them,and think the best is to take ther balls away, but i think it is important that this not turns out to be a witchunt on men, like it was inn in sweden in the some time ago, some swedeish famus writer say this is the moderm times witchunt.. in 1600 children was turnig inn ther mothers and say they was witch, and they was burnd , who can go against children.. here some social educated peopel find when they ask children, that if they think wery carefull, they must remeber that some have abuse them when they was littel children, we have also some case where fadher was realesd from prison after the children confesd that they was lying.. so this writer say that men is modern times witch, if you understan what i meen.. intresting thaught on a very difficult issu, but i think it is easy that this thing can turn out to be a hunt .. wher even some innocent is condemd.

  this was only my thaughts late inn the swedish summer .

  The current WT policy only protects the accused.

  If reporting to authorities was mandatory, everyone would be protected. The guilty would be punished to the extent of the law. The child would be protected. The innocent would be cleared.

  Accusations would not be frivolous if it were known the authorities would be notified. No witch-hunts would exist among the elders. They are, by JW standards, "untrained and unpaid volunteers." The only witch hunts I have witnessed were instigated by such ones. Leave it to the experts. The elders do not claim to be able to heal or diagnose physical symptoms, why do they do the same for psychological conditions?

  Mandatory reporting is the only sure-fire way to stop witch hunting....rumour mills among elders' wives aren't.

  hi everyone.. my name is caspian, i am an elder in a congregation in england.. i have been reading this forum for about 12 months, never having the confidence to log in.. however after all the information that has come to light in the recent weeks, i feel that i need to start coming to terms with the crisis that i now feel.. i am a third gen jw, and been an elder for 15 years, my family whom i love dearly are all naive fully committed jw's.. please if any current or ex elders in a similar situation care to make any good advice.

  I especially enjoyed the announcement, "Brothers and sisters, we must remember that not everyone here is a Jehovah's Witness. We must remove all valuables from our seats during intermissions." How warm and touching. I was only there to record and leave.

  I heard some have dropped the Silentlambs cards in the contribution boxes staples to dollar bills twenty times so someone has to dig for the cash! I also bombed some contribution boxes and restrooms. That made this person happy anyway!

  " ... yes, the police, public and media joined forces to find the girl and the perpetrator ... as though she was their own daughter.

  that is what we call community committment, love, and concern.

  how can all of you say that you are disgusted etc when you dont know any thing about the organisation?.

  im sure you didnt really worry before but now you are all acting upset etc.. i stress to say that it is accusations not fact.. i am 16 and found the program annoying in the fact that we were portrayed completely wrong.. the bbc could say what they liked.. i think that people should be more sincere and less assuming.. thanks, mark

  I was a Jehovah's Witness for 20 years. I pioneered, was a Ministerial servant's wife, and later an elder's wife. I was molested by one elder before the age of 6 and by my father, another elder, during my teens.

  Yes, I told on them. No, no action was taken. Yes, they have admitted to their actions. Yes, though one is deceased, my father is still an active JW.

  That is why I am here and speaking out. To protect young ones like you and your brothers and sisters. Over 20 elders know of my father's admitted actions and they will not protect you. They are defending him. That is why people like Bill Bowen and others have come, to protect you and your friends because you are alone against them.

  I went to the post-Dateline meeting locally, sat down and plopped 2 tape recorders down next to me. The attendant who seated me saw them. I was also armed with a court order saying they couldn't shun me so they had to seat me up front. There was a big brew-haha in the back among the elders and the Bro. giving the local announcements. They sang the song and completely skipped to part #2 on the program. The audience was flipping through the KM's looking to see what had happened.

  They are truly scared of the public finding out their antics and will go to great lengths to avoid exposure. I got a giggle out of it though.

  Hardline on disfellowshipped ones

  once again a hard line is being taken on shunning disfellowshipped and disassociated ones.

  perhaps this is some sort of backlash against the recent adverse dateline publicity in the us, the forthcoming pananorama programme in the uk and problems with a number of influential ones leaving the organization.

  Yes, I know where you got your handle BTW. If you do have hard evidence, not just locations which I hear have now moved from the North American Continent to South America, you need to share them with archeologists. The Smithsonian wasted millions looking with no help from anyone like yourself stepping foreward.

  There are major differences in the JW's and the Mormons, but the tactics are the same. I have friends who are scarred by the rituals they underwent in the temple....which are common knowlege here. My father was denied being on the local Basketball team unless he would pass sacrement in approved standing by the locals. The politics remain.

  In high school the Mormon students are allowed to attend seminary an hour a day for the last 4 years of school. I asked, as a JW, for the same time to "pioneer" and receive religious training from my religion of choice as I had fulfilled my credits early my senior year. Request denied. I opted to attend college and H.S. simultaneously, but only while pioneering...the jw's here will understand that one. I also asked not to attend the graduation ceremony (I graduated with a 4.0 and was valedictorian) in the tabernacle as this violated my conscience. Request denied.

  The same politics exist in the adult world here and the pressures are all here. Try being a non-Mormon here and running for political office or getting a job for which you are aptly qualified but must go up against a Bishop's daughter. It's the same game. Nothing Christian or God-given about it. "by their fruits you will recognize them........" the fruit is rotten here.
