New Watchtower Propaganda and hate speech destroying families (Feb 2016 WT)
by Daniel1555 inthe following is a paragraph from the new february study watchtower article "learn from jehovah's loyal servants.".
7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne [1] received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.

Wow that example really seems to ratchet up the shunning up a notch. Not to sugguest that it wasn't always the case, it was and has been, but any talk of relaxing the shunning policy is obviously premature. -

dating even though not scripturally free to do so
by seekingadvice inwondering what to think...i'm recently divorced from my jw spouse ( i was never a jw).
we have a 11 year old son who is being forced to attend meetings and have all the beliefs that ex has.
i'm constantly being told what i should do and i'm supposed to go along with ex on whatever he says because apparently the "head of the family" continues after divorce in his world.

Yep they are definitely 'dating' by org definitions and as doc and sir82 noted he could be eventually df'd....
if i were you i wouldnt give the prick the satisfaction unless you had something in writing that made it worth it for you.

Special Pioneer Couple Living at a Kingdom Hall In Miami FL, get the dreaded Letter
by James Jack injust got a phone call from an older sister saying that a couple that got re-assigned from bethel 4 years ago to live at their kh apartment as special pioneers, just received a letter saying "as of january 2016, your special pioneer assignment will be discontinued".. they live in a south miami kh(snapper creek congregation).. this couple had only served in bethel for 15 years before they were sent out into the special pioneer work.
they are now in their mid 50's and the sister said that they have to find part time jobs to support themselves.. the older sister (does not have a pc or internet), says that the couple are just devastated!

@tenatious -Nature, in its various forms, has always existed. No god created it. In the infinitude that is nature, innumerable universes are successively produced and destroyed through periodic convulsions. Our universe is only one of many and like all such universes ours was formed from the wreckage of the previous cosmos... And so the next universe will be formed from the ruins of our cosmos... This process is independent of any god. -

"Again I would like to thank everyone for their comments and advise. It is deeply appreciated. I wish at least one present JW would voice their opinion. "
Just as an aside, what you have read on this forum is 99.9% written by JW's. Almost everyone here either is or was an active JW. Its sort of niche geoup in that regard. If you were never a jw the board probably dosent appeal to you, the notable exception being if you married to a jw or were somehow closely tied to one.
What you are reading is the sum total of centeries of combined jw experiance.
In the end your a grown man and will do as you wish. You SHOULD do as you wish. We will still be here for you in a six months when you come back asking how to deal with her now that shes gone back to the cult and wont sleep with you anymore, never wants to do anything except go to her cult meetings, assemblies and knocking on peoples doors on the weekend. We will be here for you when you complain about her not respecting your right to observe holidays in your own home. We will be here for you when you complain about how the church elders are involved in your marriage to an uncomfortable degree, telling her how to treat you and making decisions for her. We will be here when she dosent want to associate with your family because they are "worldly" or go to company events with you for the same reason. We will be here for you when she starts obsessively preaching to you, trying to convert you to her faith. We will help you reason with her from the bible although she will ignore it. We will help you share with her the history of her reilgion although she wont believe it or want to hear it from you. We will be here for you through all of that and more.
just dont say we didnt warn you.

I too was madly in love with a Jehovahs witness... then I married her. Cured me of that.
But to your point.... What exactly is the rush? Not to be overly pointed but it seems that in a fairly short period of time all your questions will be answered. Her meetings with the ministers (called elders in witness parlance) won't last more than a week at most. Your 52 years old. at that age you know full well a little patience goes a long way. Relax. Let it play out. You will know soon enough just where you stand with her. Read up on this site and see exactly what the real life experiences of witnesses are understand that neither you nor her are different. Neither of you are special little snow flakes. The problems that the religion creates for them it will create for the two of you. Its a time bomb waiting to explode if your not fully ready and aware.
Relax and read up :)

Need advice
by Darkknight757 inhi.i've been pouring over this site for the past few days looking for some advice and i hope there is someone here that can help a guy out.
i'm desperate.....short bio: i came into the organization after high school and shortly after married a wonderful girl who was born-in.we have been happily married now for nearly 20 years and things were well until 2015 hit.
by the way, i currently serve as an elder and have the ""privilege"" of being the "watchtower overseer".. either here nor there, we were told we would never have children but late last year my wife became prego!!

Dark knight.... you could be telling my story in many ways. I was Wt study conductor when i realized the truth about the truth. I ultimately used it to spread a little truth, to ask thought provoking questions and general be a bit of a 'dark sheep' elder for a while... but the stress ate me alive. A chance came up for me to be secretary and I jumped on it and used that as my reason to step down as WT conductor. The real relief came when I finally got out of being an elder all together.
The best thing I can say is that its a process. Its common that when we realize the truth we want to shout SHIT!!!! from the rooftops and beat ourselves for not seeing it sooner. We want to hurry up and convince our loved ones that its not the truth and run like hell from the whole thing.....
Not gonna work. take it from the countless experiences on this board, that plan is doomed to failure. Im not saying you should pretend forever, that also is doomed to failure. The most successful path is one of measured steps.
Step down from being an elder.
about six months after that you can begin really slacking off in FS.
About six months after slacking in FS you can duck meetings more and more....
in a short year maybe year and half you can be all but gone.
It sounds easy but I know full well the emotional and social complications of such actions.. but thats the best, highest probability of success pathway.
In the end, you and only you have to live with the results of your decisions and actions. Take everything we all say on this board with a grain of salt, remembering YOU have the final say and the final responsibility for your actions.
Take your time. Be smart. Be strong. We are all here cheering you on.
