  Intersting Visit from our local JWs yesturday

  way to early on a saturday morning we got a ring on our doorbell.

  someone else answered the door.

  after they left i walked by our entry way and gagged from the smell!

  I want to comment on this from a slightly different angle but nontheless related. That os the jw inherent mindset of absolute roght and prilidge to be at your door. Legally in in the USA and in many other countries and cultures they do indeed have an implied right if its not expressly revoked by a no trespassing or no soliciting type sign.... But its really rather odd, being seperated from the jw mindset, to think that its welcome even if it is legal to appear unannounced at someones door.

  I have never bought nor even considered a product solicited door to door. Even if such a product appealed to me its such an outdated form of marketing that i question any product presented in that manner on general principle.

  But really to show up unannounced and the be wearing an overpowering perfume and then be supprised when someone isnt pleased is a bit arrogant and self entitled. We didnt want you here to begin with. You were univited. Dont be upset at the lack of appreciation for your solicitation.

  Governing body member engaged... Again!

  just found out that the australian governong body member known as geoffrey jackson got engaged to a sister about two weeks ago.

  it really shocked me at first but then i remembered how other members of the gb have remarried in the past like daniel sidlik.

  what made me say "woah" was hearing that the holy bride to be is really young!

  i won't make this long.

  i went out again and found him.

  got in through the back door, pushed him to wake up, got him out, fed him, watered him and said he was family and i have a plan.. we talked all day, i let him do what he does, in order not to scare him about the future change that could happen for him.

  Hours will be going up

  just got done watching parts of the october episode at jdub.broadcasting and it looks like the definition of "sacred service" is getting an update.

  construction work, helping out fellow dubs, even helping out non-beliebers and opposers will soon be adding up to record progress for publishers... gett ready for a huge increase in hours being reported.... can you hear it now??

  Uhmmm i didnt see where that could be counted as time, only noted it was sacred service. Thats not even new. That was printed 20 years ago with the caveat that it should not reported on ur time slip

  I completely disagree with the premise of the OP. The org knows that the rank and file dont give a damn about how many bethelites were sent home from wherever. This isn't the first layoff from bethel and it dosent cause waves for the average JW. Changing meeting names and all the shuffling around to distract from a nonevent would be pointless. They had reasons for the change but that aint it

  The real question is..... What did you expect? What was your expection or qualifier for "success " that you feel you've fallen short of? Figure out where you are unfulfilled and pursue it. The cult creates lofty universal implications for our every choice. Wenare either pleasing the one true god or giving ammo to the greatest evil ever to exsist... The true os so much more mundane. Perhaps you simply havnt found a replacement purpose that helps you feel fulfilled in the same way :)

  Where are they now? - Paul Illingworth

  anyone know whatever happened to former do paul illingworth?

  he was teaching mts school for many years, but heard that he got out of the do work (before they got rid of the arrangement).

  he was super intelligent and one of the "nicer" company men that i came across during my time in the borg.

  even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.

  the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.
