Observations from an Ex-Elder Part 1

i was thinking about the fog model this morning, particularly about the "obligation" part.

my mind went back to the last elders school i went to.

one of the parts in the section on appointments was discussing how we should not place too high a bar (human standards) for brothers to try and jump over when we are considering them for appointment as a ministerial servant.

Agreed that is a terrible mix of traits. I was actually secretary when i stepped down myself.

I had long realized that I, as secretary, got beat up for people not turning time in... i never asked people to make time up, i just averaged there previous months for them, with the exception of pioneers.

In the end its a honor system reporting mechanism and i encouraged people to play fast and loose. Nobody ever cared as long as the CO was happy and then it was six months before anyone cared again.

It was then and is now a travashamockery.

I saw the same thing, time after time. Didnt matter how good a man was as a person, only the 3x5 card and its numbers mattered. By the time i woke up i was flat out telling brothers to lie and that ni one cared. Some were uncomfortable with that thought so i changed it to 'be generous and creative with time reporting'

i swear no longer elder is the thing i am happiest about

Craziest thing you ever did during intermission at a Circuit Assembly

1970 - there was a local drag strip a few miles away from the hall rented for the circuit assembly.

i was 18 , tim o. was 16 and wayne d. was 18. wayne had a 1955 chevy 4 door, 6 cylinder and fresh paint job.

tim had his dad'ss 1965 chevy half ton.

Talk about click bait....

no one in that awful organization is "employed" to do anything.

they do not have "phone banks" anywhere, even if individual witnesses use their phones to spread their cult

by using the words "employ" and "work " together you imply a relationship you absolutely know dosent exist in this context.

You use the term "preteen" along with "work" and "employ" to further the 'click bait' nature of your post by implying underage sweatshop labor, perhaps even trying to draw some vauge reference or connection to abuse by including the religious knowing full well the charged atmosphere that surrounds children and religion.

As much as i hate the cult sensational and flatly untrue statments, like those made by the tittle of your post, do far more harm than good. There is more than enough to hang the cult on without resorting to untruth.

this is exactly what seems to be happening, a believer runs in drops the stink bomb and runs out again...only to pear around the door when he/she deems it safe to do so.

Sigh..... i appreciate the passion but a moments pause will reveal the real truth:

'a believer' is here because he is hooked on the real truth. He (or she) shows up and reads whats the the truth about the truth and iHe (or She) has already been touched by it.

There is no need to be rough with him or her and no need to be offended by his or her attempts to defend. Its nothing more than the initial phase of waking up and sorting through the pain of having suckered into the cult.
