Bethelites Vow Of Poverty
by pale.emperor informer governing body assistant howie tran has shared his bethel vow of poverty contract.
it reads rather culty.
i think clause number 9 is particularly worrying...to adhere to, not the bible alone, but also the watchtower literature and the governing body.

Generally i agree. Specifically there is level coercion that you conviently ignore, doubter. To be an inactive witness, let alone df’d, is a huge deal for family and friends. You dont have to admit it. Hust try and live it and then tell me your “free” to choose. You are, without a doubt. You can certainly choose not to be a jw.
Its just not “free”.

Well the celebacy aspect isnt a legal requirement, but legally they are viewed exactly as monks. Members of special religious order who have taken a vow of poverty and obedience.
If anyone “dislikes” that, take it up with the org. They are ones who designated bethelites as such, not I.

It's worded as if they are in a monastic order! Why
That is precisely what they are.

Has God preserved His word today?
by JW Answers inhas god preserved his word today?
many people attack, doubt and fault god's word.
yet god has made several promises in his word.he promised to preserve his word unto every generation,he promised that every word would be truth,he promised that we can rely and depend on his every word.satan wants nothing more than to dismiss, and cast doubt on god's word... so the question today is... do we have god's preserved word today?

If he tried to preserve his word he did a terrible job. He couldnt even keep his name in it.

Humans only survive for 3-5 days without water...
by purrpurr inand yet today's watchtower and indeed the bible condemns the israelites for moaning about having no water!
it's never occurred to me how unjust this is!
and how could a so called loving god not provide a basic human need?!.

It took a lot of work on God's part to secure their release. Even then, it was not enough.
You. Are. An idiot. You denigrate the creator of heaven of and earth by suggesting that it took work for him to free his people? He can create the universe not free his people? Your a fool and blaspheming one at that.

by LoveUniHateExams inso serena williams lost the us open final 6-2, 6-4 to naomi osaka, her japanese-american opponent.. williams received three code violations from the umpire, carlos ramos: .
1. a warning for illegal coaching (subsequently admitted by williams's coach).
2. a point penalty for smashing her racquet.

Of course he cant “adjust” the numbers. The numbers are what the numbers are. Thats exactly how many violations for each gender and for what specific violation.
If you want to argue that men are more penalized because they play more “games” feel free, but clearly the facts dont support that conclusion. Men are penalized FAR more often, women simply cry about it more.
Im sure billy jean and serena will go on a tirade about the stats and call them sexist and racist.

First of all, I think it is important to remember that the Israelites were in the wilderness because of their own choosing.
Really... lets examine the facts. Their choices were 1) leave egypt or 2) witness the death of their first born. Some choice.
They were in the situation that they were in because they were focusing on their seeming impossible obstacles, instead of God. They had the opportunity to enter the promised land, but ten of the 12 spies came back afraid, and without faith. They chose to not enter the promised Land. This is after the 10 plagues of Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea & the miraculous defeat of Pharoah.
You would be excellent at debunking bible fairy tales. You just gave a really good explanation as to why the story is flawed.
And especially important, it was aftera covenanat relationship was mediated by Moses between the nation of Israel & God.
Really? Why is that “especially” important?
The problem was that the Israelites were still thinking like a defeated, enslaved people. The people had been taken out of slavery, but the slavery had not yet been taken out of the people.
hmmm.... could it be because their petty weak ass desert god left them in captivity for 400 years??? Do you THINK THAT may play into it????? What a joke. He leaves them for GENERATIONS in abject poverty and slavery but they are supposed to get over it in 30 days? Screw you and your terrible excuse making for a horrible fairy tale.
Your a terrible PR agent for a terrible story.
