  Are JW's so paranoid because they know their all just acting?

  sassy got me thinking about how people here can just be themselves and not worry about being "found out"!

  i know at the k-halls everyone is acting all holy and righteous.

  but they all watch everyone else and listen to what is said to make sure that a) they are not discovered, and b) to see if the other person will "slip-up" and give their true feelings away!.

  Damn straight ex-elder. These "last days" are just to broad for my liking. It is b.s. and they desperately need another 1975.
  Its like when I go to my bible studies......"so....these are the last days?" "Yes, they are. All bible scriptures point to the last days" "So whats our expiration date (laughs)" "We dont know"
  Thats enough for me, broad terms like "last days" really grate my cheese. Weird thing is everyone, I believed, for a short period of time that becoming a jw was the right thing to do because they rubbed off as "pure"......whereas now I view the organisation and its ppl as naive. Fact is no one knows the truth, and for the witnesses to claim that they hold the truth did have a huge impact on me, especially in my vulnerable state at the time of (looking into religion). As mentioned before in ealier posts, COC will have a profound impact. From there, I can take that knowledge to my jw friends. They are unaware such a book exists. I actually striked up a conversation with about 3 ppl at the k-hall last week about COC. My attire was straight black, muscle shirt, with a red tie. Word has it Im probably satan. I was not dressed for the occasion.
  
  Maverick, from what I know they are not too many 2 faced ppl in the borg, only because they are trying to convert me I guess - trying to uphold the purity of the organisation.

  all the aforementioned come from people really high on medication, a whole fridge infact. And I try my best to stay clear of bananas. I am actually apart of the tool fans. We really suck.

  since most here are ex jw's, do you use/refer the new world translation of the jw's; or another christian bible, if any bible at all?

  ive heard there is a satanic bible also..

  Cheers Mustang! I dont post often, just like to read the threads on here.
  Why can't somebody give me the real "truth"??? You know.....every time I come to this site and read anti-jw posts, I get really angry, not at you guys, and not at the jw's, truth be told....I dont know who Im angry at, just disappointed there are toooo many bibles/religions out there to pick and choose from. I guess, nowerdays, its easier to do your own thing than to follow directions and orders.

  for some reason I feel like Im in the studio audience of Jerry Springer.....
  sin now and repent later, seriously, I CANNOT wait to read COC. Its been on order for 5 weeks.
  The stories told here hit harder than any non-jw divorce/break-ups. I thought part of being "in" the truth was the security and trust between couples. Devils and Demons are at work.

  ....that really didnt answer your question. In a nutshell, they are all stiff, and the conversation in forced at the meetings, not free flowing if that makes sense

  good point Maverick. Came from a meeting the other day and the mc/brother said to me as he was leaving "can't wait to get out of this suit and tie" amongst other little things hinting he wanted to get the hell out of there. In my opinion, I see it as something they feel obligated to do under the "rules and regulations" as a dedicated servant....sure it strengthens faith - but really most would like to sleep in on a sunday morning. Ive seen the preperation in the mornings "oh my goodness Im just soo tired!"....
  
  Acting? I guess they are trying to act nice not necessarily being true to eachother (the way they express their emotions etc). In this way they are distinguishable from "wordly humans". Anything thats sets them apart from the r.o.w. Deep inside, they are itching to sleep in sunday's.

  We can be flippant, urging everyone to 'get on with it', 'get past it'. Yup, that's great. Easy, over and done with. Then we have people who are questioning the organization, or, are in the process of exiting it, or are leaving it without question. What do we do with them?

  exactly......I find the site very informative and helpful, it has opened my eyes to a lot of what goes on behind the scenes.

  Hi Stacy, how did your meeting go with the JW Elder? I think I read somewhere he was not shunning u, but willing to bring u back.....or was this someone else?
